“A Star is Born” stars four-time Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper (“American Sniper,” “American Hustle,” “Silver Linings Playbook”) and multiple award-winning, Oscar-nominated music superstar Lady Gaga, in her first leading role in a major motion picture. Cooper helms the drama, marking his directorial debut.

In this new take on the tragic love story, he plays seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers—and falls in love with—struggling artist Ally (Gaga). She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer... until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.

This story has been told so many times on film. It's a real classic. Of course, I would love most for Adam to get his shot at a great movie role and then, VOILA! A star is born!

Dee R Gee....be careful what you wish for....not all "great movie roles" turn out that way. Starring in a "clunker" is often worse than not being in one at all! Gulp!

I still want him to get his shot. You can't be a star if you don't take some risks and give it a try. Even a clunker movie can be a breakthrough movie for someone. It's been known to happen. It can get you noticed. Sometimes the movie itself isn't very good but an actor can do a very good performance in it. Hope he gets his chance.

Dee R Gee. Oh, I do too. I was just pointing out the possible pitfalls. I'm such a worry-wart!

I just want everything to work out perfectly for Adam....that he will have all the opportunities his many talents and desires should have....and that the whole world will know what an extraordinary performer and person he is...the way we Glamberts do.

I need to see this! As a young adult I remember seeing the black and white version with Judy Garland ( I think) actors name escapes me but on television. Then I saw in the 80s in the theater the Barbara Streisand and Kris Kostofferson version to which it didn't have great reviews but I liked it because Barbara is my Diva, I love her so much and besides its where Babs hit song "EVERGREEN" is from. Anyone remember this song? Or this version of the movie? So I'd like to see this newest version so I can compare notes with Babs version! Also because I like Ladygaga. Reading back my comment I meant to type Kristofferson NOT Kostofferson. Sorry Kris.

Sunflower ... The earliest version was a 1937 movie but it was in technicolor too. It starred Janet Gaynor & Fredrick March as Vicki Lester & Norman Maine .. it's on Ytube so you can watch it there if you want to ... the one with Judy Garland & James Mason kept the two names as the stars in that one & then the one with Barbra Streisand & Kris K. changed the names of the two leading character to Esther Hoff & John Norman a rock & roll star .. that's the movie she sang Evergreen which I believe she co-wrote with Paul Williams .. I think they may all be on Ytube .. not sure. So I guess this will be the 4th version & it will probably be the same rock & roll theme since Lady G. is starring in it so it will be more modern & updated I suppose!! I hope I get to see this one too .. I saw all of the others & each movie was great in it's own era .. one of my all-time favorites no matter who stars in it .. it will be a hit!! JMO

LAMBERT Outlaw...I never saw the 1937 version, but the Judy Garland and James Mason version on television as a young girl. I do remember that the names of the leading characters were changed when Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson did the 80s version, and yes indeed "Evergreeen" came from this film. Couldn't get enough of the song, I bought the 45 (who remembers the 45s, heehee), but I have it also on CD. I have confidence Ladyaga will do an amazing job, ( she had rave reviews when she was on American Horror Story, a few years back). Finally a film I'm anxious to see, don't care for some of the movies that are out right now. And of course "Bohemian Rhapsody" is another movie I'm dying to see. Thanks LAMBERT Outlaw for the info on all the versions!

Oops, instead of Ladygaga, I typed Ladyaga. Lol

Ok me again, so I watched the trailer again and saw that the name is spelled like this "Lady Gaga" not Ladygaga! Ugh after all these years I should know how to get her name right! Lol

Before Adam. the last singer I followed closely was K Kris, can’t see Bradley playing that role. IDK about Gaga

Well, I'm not crazy about Lady Gaga. I think she just tries too hard to be eccentric...I find it very distracting and offputting. But I don't deny her vocal talent, and the trailer shows her acting like a normal person, which should be quite refreshing.

I think I'll see the movie. I haven't seen Lady Gaga in a film before - there's no denying that she's talented. Adam is definitely a fan!!

And I'm really looking forward to seeing "Bohemian Rhapsody".
