Adam Lambert Purchased A New Home!
(Via Variety Exclusive) A "Sunset Strip Contemporary"

Location: Los Angeles, Calif. Price: $6.5 million Size: 5,028 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms
Glam rocker Adam Lambert substantially zhuzhed up his already pretty snazzy residential circumstances with the $6.5 million purchase of an awkwardly massed but sleekly finished and vaguely Prairie-style contemporary residence perched conveniently just above L.A.’s dream-stained and ever-chic Sunset Strip. High end property market watchers will note the sale price was not only an eye-catching 18% less than the original $7.888 million asking price and nearly half of a million dollars under the final price tag of almost $7 million but $300,000 short of the amount the seller — a corporate entity tied to Avril Lavigne’s current beau Phillip Sarofim, heir to a billion dollar plus Texas energy fortune — paid for the then brand spanking new house in February 2017. With up to five bedrooms and six bathrooms, the 5,028-square-foot, triple-story abode sits securely if not invisibly behind double driveway gates on a slightly more than a quarter acre street-to-street lot with a long and glittery, tree-framed city lights view from the upper level.

V-E-R-Y nice! Adam's going to have a ball decorating it. Wonder if he's sold his previous house? Hope so... it gets expensive carrying two big mortgages.

I like the sleek, clean lines of this house....although the other was very nice, too. Is this new one bigger, or more private, or more conveniently located than the first one? Anyone know that area?

Within the linked article, it states that Adam’s other home is currently still unsold..

glitzylady said...

And yes, this new one is bigger and more private. Not all that far from his current home..

I really like the looks of this house! It looks a little more "accessible" somehow and not to angle-y. JMO. It's really beautiful and it's in his same general neighborhood. Hope he sells his house ASAP. Two mortgages are no fun.

I imagine he'll give us snips of the new house and its interior sometime. He does that, especially when he has a party.

BTW, just watched Adam on ET! VERY nice interview and lots of good video clips, QAL and non-QAL. And he did get to mention his solo album. Yay! They showed him in all his magnificent gorgeous glory.

And it sounds like his Vegas costumes will be very Freddy-inspired and really off-the-wall. Hope so!

I like this property a lot. The other one had no appeal for me. Yes, I know, my opinion doesn't count, but there it is.

Thanks, glitzylady...I stupidly asked that question about whether he sold the other house without carefully reading all the information. Sorry.

What a gorgeous house. Love the folding glass walls that open up to the patios and backyard pool area.

He should have fun entertaining here!

Nanbert said...

Humm...Turns out that all that "grassy" area around the pool is actually "faux-grassing". Is that very common in that area? I guess it won't need mowing, but will probably require regular vacuuming and/or hosing down. Is "faux-grass" just a fancy name for indoor/outdoor carpet?

Patria said...

"faux-grassing"? What will Pharaoh think?

Nanbert said...

Whoa! Poor Pharoah! Or poor faux-grass. Might have a problem here. Have to buy another house with real grass for Pharoah! LOL

Nanbert said...

Just realized....Adam just paid 6.5 million for a house with 6 bathrooms, but no place for Pharoah to piddle! Oh my!

Patria said...

Okay Nanbert, I almost spit my coffee all over my computer because of your above post. Ha Ha Ha

Maybe Pharaoh is a carpet dog. Maybe on of the six bathrooms has real grass. Oh the possibilities.

Dee R Gee said...

Southern California isn't too conducive to grassy lawns without a lot of watering. So the faux grass thing makes sense. Saves money on hiring a lawn maintenance service. I assume Pharaoh gets walked a lot where there is real grass. And maybe there's a patch of real grass somewhere on the property for him just for obvious reasons. I think this house is much more inviting looking than his other one. I love those folding glass wall, too.

Dee R Gee said...

Just read that the house has a "doggie run area" along one side. So Pharaoh will have some real grass.

Thanx for the info about the doggie run, DRG. It makes sense that a house like that would have one. It's not like it has to be kept like a putting green. Civil amount of water would keep it up fine.

Madly in love with this house as I share Adam's taste in modern, clean and open spaces. He will have many fun shopping sprees to find perfect furnishings and art for this space, along with pieces he already has.I know I am in the minority and dislike his friends IG videos of his private space - prefer to see a spread in Architectural Digest and the stories behind his designs.

I like the sustainability factor of the faux grass and concrete areas, especially in a drought driven environment - this is a plus IMO and probably what all LA properties will need to do in the future.

I read that Adam paid cash outright for his first home, so no mortgage- this is common for high end real estate dealings. I think Adam is very money savvy, and while we see his luxe expenditures, he probably still lives well within his means and has healthy assets. If he mortgaged for this house, I imagine he placed a large down payment and secured a mortgage that would be beneficial to his tax status. Most high income celebrities/athletes get into trouble purchasing multiple properties, cars, toys - way beyond their means, this is not Adam.

Beautiful home, I think Adam and his life style will have a huge amount of fun, etc. Heard he could have a party for about 200 people comfortably. With all that huge space and all kinds of rooms, there is no dedicated exercise room. I suppose he will make one of the bedrooms into one especially since they are all mostly en suite. 2 dressing rooms, but I guess he is on his own to put in closets and drawers etc. He has a ton of clothes, for himself and for concerts etc. I was wondering if he will have friends staying over a lot, since he really doesn't like living alone. He paid cash for last house, guessing he paid cash for this one also. Brian and Roger also own homes in LA. Hope he will be happy there, as he seems to change homes every couple of years or so. Pharoah will like it, even is he slides on those floors, but Adam made sure there was a doggie area already in.

Thanx for the info Anonymous8. I did not know Adam paid cash for the first house. He's got the money for that price range. I'm all for no mortgage. or Pay it off asap. Frees up lots of money and saves lots of money. Good for Adam.

Patria said...

btw Anonymous8, I'm with you on not liking the party videos of Adam's private spaces.

Nanbert said...

Whew...I'm somewhat relieved to read about the doggie run....but knowing Adam, he will not keep Pharoah confined to living in a dog run. And with all those telescoping sliding doors open to enhance the indoor/outdoor living effect, there's nothing to keep Pharoah from roaming freely everywhere on the property. Hope he's dependably trainable. Such a sweet little fellow!

Perfect house for a perfect guy!

Anne Marie said...

The doggie in question, will probably not move in, until his daddy comes back from Vegas. He will be at his grandpas'. I expect the fenced in area is more than just a doggie run, he will probably have his own doggie door to go out there, when he needs to. I certainly would not want to clean up after him on that turf grass.

I agree with everyone's comments! I too think this house is beautiful and love how spacious it is. I'm thinking his first party at his new home will be on Halloween, followed by New Years Eve! Pharaoh sure does have so much space now to roam around. I'd like to know what Pharaoh will think that this isn't the same house? I also wonder if he'll miss the other one? Wish I knew a pet psychic so she/he can ask Pharaoh! Hahaha

I was confused by the 'awkwardly massed' comment in the article. Is that because the architecture is so angular? Personally, I like it.

I thought it was a strange statement also, and indicated that the author did not understand modern design. It is designed so that the owner can interpret the living space as it resonates with his life style - there are no "assigned rooms" with labels.I thought it was a wonderful space with really good flow - not awkward at all, and suits Adam to a T.

Apart from the "party space" everyone sees, I see it more as a tranquil home and sanctuary where Adam can relax and nurture his creativity. He is older now and understands the phases of his life.
