From Beth Kimberlin on Facebook:
"The music of Queen is enjoyed worldwide, but to actually experience the awesomeness of it all in person with so many others was unlike anything I've experienced. We were 5,000+ strangers brought together by the music of Queen. We cheered during the anthems, cried during the ballads, and gasped when Freddie appeared. It may sound silly, but it was almost like a religious experience. For 2 hours we revealed in the beauty, the poetry, the epic anthems. To know that you weren't alone in your emotional journey was comforting. I have never felt so emotionally drained and fulfilled at the same time. I lost count of how many times I cried. Brian May and Roger Taylor are truly rock gods whose innate talents have not diminished with time.
Adam Lambert is truly lucky to perform with them. I have never followed Adam's career, but to see him perform now, he is definitely a star in his own right. He doesn't sound like Freddie, he's not trying to; Adam has an amazing set of pipes all his own. This isn't about impersonation, it's about tribute. This man has taken a true love and admiration for the larger-than-life Mercury and turned it into a chance for all of us to come together and relive Freddie's immense contribution to the world of music.
I honestly feel lucky to have experienced it. For 2 hours there was nothing but the music. No politics, no hate, no anger, just the melodies. In the end I was left with one overwhelming feeling: togetherness. And the belief that Freddie believed we could be better. So before you decide to say or do something nasty to someone, listen to some Queen, and be the person Freddie knows you can be. We miss you Mr. Mercury. This world is better for having known you. To Brian May, Roger Taylor, and Adam Lambert, thank you for inspiring us tonight."

This is amazing!
This fan really seems to have experienced what we Glamberts feel whether it be with Queenbert or just Adam.
The more people that experience Adam the happier I am to have his aura and talent appreciated!

You said it all, Beth! And Magiclady, you are so right about Glamberts. We love Adam just as much SOLO as we do when he's with Queen. He has so much to offer in both roles. I always hope that the new QAL fans will also become ADAM fans and enjoy his own music, too.

OT, I did not watch the Emmys tonight but I heard there was a promo for NBC's next live musical for next year. It will be Hair. Adam's been in Hair before. I wonder if he'll try for a role? He played Margaret before and sang "My Conviction." He was wonderful!

Dee R Gee....Hair?...oh my! How will they handle all that nudity on TV? They can't "blur" specific spots on live TV!.. only when pre-recorded. haha

Dee R Gee and Nanbert... I did watch the Emmy Awards ( even tho some parts I found boring), and to my surprise, my jaw literally dropped to the floor when I saw that promo for the live musical "HAIR"!!! I thought the same Nanbert, if the actors will be nude. Lol. However nude or not I'm going to watch it because I love, love, love the soundtrack to hair, brings me back to my childhood listening to all the hits from this play on the radio. So excited for this! FYI this will be for SPRING 2019. Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in, the suuuunshine in! I'll be practicing the songs in the meantime. Hahaha. 🎤🎹🎼

Soundtrack to HAIR, not hair (in small letters)

Guessing there will be no nudity per se on the televised version of “Hair”.. even in the live stage version (which I saw a few years ago in Seattle) the “drop trou” moment was very brief. And gotta say, there was dead silence in the audience at first. Thinking not everyone was expecting it. But yep, frontal nudity. I don’t think US network TV is ready for that yet 😊.. they obviously have a plan to convey the message as it’s an important moment in the storyline..

I've seen Hair live on stage several times. The nude "scene" is really just a quick moment that is shadowed in dim light. If you blink, you could miss it. It was never done as a long drawn out nude scene. I'm sure it will be adapted appropriately for network TV. It's a great show with some of the best music ever! I wonder if Adam will want to try to be a part of it? He sure knows the score.

Can't wait for HAIR!
I was in high school and college during this time period and it was wonderful. All of the Hippies and Flower Children! I did see HAIR in Hollywood during that time and totally loved it including all of the music.
I would love to see Adam as part of this!

Beth Kimberlin obviously loved, was moved by, and quite complimentary on experiencing Queen and Adam Lambert live for the first time......but she, like many, seems to consider QAL a Tribute band.

She describes it as "almost like an religious experience", and says "it's about TRIBUTE" (my caps)..."to come together and relive Freddie's immense contribution to the world of music"..."the belief that Freddie believed we could be better"...."and be the person Freddie knows you can be".... definitely a spiritual experience for her! I never thought of Freddie as a moral example or proselytiser...but to each his/her own interpretation, I guess.

I can remember Roger, especially, during a couple of interviews, saying "We are NOT a Tribute Band, we are Queen and Adam Lambert"!...through barely gritted teeth!

I certainly hope that the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" adequately explores the intense collaboration and talent EACH member of Queen contributed to their musical repertroire, and give Brian and Roger the stature they earned and deserve as EQUAL partners....and people come to understand that they were not JUST "Freddie's band". It seems that most people still don't realize that. Not their fault....very few people know much about Queen's "history". I certainly didn't...until I began to read up on them fairly extensively after they joined up with Adam.

I wouldn't describe QAL as "like a religious experience", but I certainly agree with Beth that it is an intensely uplifting experience, and the audience's mutual enthusiasm, exuberance and camaraderie makes you feel PART of something very special.
