Adam Lambert retweeted a PEOPLE magazine tweet revealing a preview clip of himself and actress/singer Cynthia Erivo performing a duet of the 1987 Aretha Franklin / George Michael hit, "Knew You Were Waiting."   The full performance will be featured tonight on Carousel Of Hope, a special livestream benefit event for the Children's Diabetes Foundation.

Carousel of Hope streamed on PEOPLE.com, PeopleTV, PEOPLE social platforms (Facebook and Twitter) and PEOPLE YouTube on Saturday, October 10, 2020.

UPDATE: Adam & Cynthia's video turned out to be the very first performance (very wise director!) — it appeared even before the title sequence!  If you would like to see how it was presented within the entire event, you can watch the full livestream below — otherwise, the second video below contains just the performance.

Wow...Adam and Cynthia were on at the very beginning! It was a good duet, considering they were not in each other's company and interacting.... but would like to hear/see another from them when they can actually be together. Both have great voices that blend nicely.

Nanbert, I can't believe — I was on my computer and going to start watching the whole thing, or at least til Adam came on ... and I forgot! SO glad you put the above comment to let us know that it was the very first performance. As I put in my update of the post — very wise director! It was so wonderful, wasn't it? Adam's & Cynthia's voices just blended together so perfectly. I do hope they get to perform together one day. Whomever had the idea to put those two together was a genius.

So, thanks again — and, based on the fact that they're the first performance, no need for a separate video — just leaving the entire event up there, which is now available to stream freely.

It was a beautiful duet! Adam just knows how to make his voice sound like a million bucks with anyone he sings with. And he does without the diminishing the other singer at all. He has perfect instincts for duets of any kind. MORE PLEASE!
