From Queen Online:
UK & European Tour Moved to 2022 / Two Glasgow Shows Added

Queen + Adam Lambert: “It breaks our hearts…”
UK & European Rhapsody Tour again postponed
But the show goes on in 2022 – with two dates added in Glasgow - ON SALE NOW

Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, plus singer Adam Lambert, spoke today of the “heartbreak” at having to once again postpone the highly anticipated UK and European dates of their Rhapsody World Tour.

Following a sensational run across Asia and Oceania last winter, Queen + Adam Lambert were originally set to rock the UK and Europe in Summer 2020. During the band’s Spring break, however, the coronavirus outbreak left them no choice but to prioritise the safety of fans, crew and venue staff by postponing the dates until 2021.

Now, with the COVID-19 pandemic still far from resolved, the band are forced for a second time to reschedule the tour dates, moving them to 2022. “Under continuing Europe-wide Covid restrictions there’s no possible way the tour can go ahead as planned for this year,” Queen + Adam Lambert said today. “The prospect of again not being able to look forward to performing and getting to experience those wonderful audiences is just heartbreaking.”

To ease their loyal fans’ disappointment, Brian, Roger and Adam have announced a new and expanded set of 2022 dates for the UK and Europe Rhapsody shows, when they hope it will finally be safe to perform for large audiences.

The entirety of the press release may be found at the link below.

So sad to hear this news but not surprised fingers crossed for 2022 !

Sigh, well I say its better than having no shows at all. I hope our world will be closer to normal in another year. Adam says "it'll be even better"! Not to be selfish but hoping for a USA tour. :)

broddybounce said...

Well, maybe Adam can schedule a solo tour for Fall/Winter. ????

Dee R Gee said...

Well, I have to say that I am relieved rather than disappointed. I was afraid the whole thing would be cancelled. (which would create a huge ticket refund nightmare). At least the sold tickets are still good for next year and by then WE SHOULD BE IN A MORE NORMAL, SAFE SITUATION. Sure hope so!

Now we can focus on Adam and his other projects. Maybe he'll do more virtual solo stuff? He's got some interesting things he is working on.

Nanbert said...

Not unexpected, but still disappointing. They are ALL too precious to take a chance on getting COVID-19. But I see they are undaunted, and have added at least a couple more concert dates.
Fingers crossed that they all stay well....and get vaccinated!

The only good news is that it gives QAL time to put out another "QAL LIVE II" album/DVD/Blu-Ray. They've still got plenty of songs left to make another one ...or two!

broddybounce said...

Great idea Nanbert, there is so much material indeed — although how's about they just take a chance, go for it, and ... finally record an album of original material? Heck, call it Taylor, May & Lambert, for all we care.

Nanbert said...

broddybounce....I know that's a wish often spoken among Queenberts and Glamberts....but I'm less convinced about NEW music from QAL. A big part of QAL's popularity is that all its music has become a part of everyone's life....ideal for sing-a-longs. And yes, so much of that is simply familiarity.

But Queen's album with Paul Rodgers evidently never really caught on....and there's no certainty that a new album with Adam would fare any better.

However, Queen has an enormous catalogue of music that they haven't even "scratched" with Adam. Why not delve into that?.....AFTER they've covered all the songs they've already performed together...i.e. "Live II" and "LIVE III"....which will include a few of Adam's
music, too

In my case, the truth is that a big part of enjoying QAL (or Adam solo) is visual, as well as auditory. I just love watching them/him perform!

haha....Taylor, May and Lambert sounds like a law firm!

broddybounce said...

I take all your thoughts, Nanbert!! No, no, I get the Paul Rodgers thang didn't fly so well. But this is ADAM! And the Live album has done so very well, it at least begs to question a follow-up, but not necessarily another live album — to me an original album just bodes exploration. I mean, heck, even do a few demo tracks and see where that takes them.

BUT, on the other hand, you make a REALLY good point, Nanbert — no, right, absolutely, they have NOT performed anywhere near the entire Queen catalog together and, so how's about an album of Queen rarities they haven't done before — and a few they have? It would essentially BE a new album that isn't necessarily live, isn't necessarily originals, but still NEW. That is a fabulous idea and I think you should message Brian immediately!! 😁 I mean, to have, say, "Save Me" recorded would be incredible. And so many more.

Nanbert said...

Definitely "Save Me", "Fly Away", "Dragon Atack", "Stone Cold Crazy".....and many more!

Dee R Gee said...

I love the Queen rarities idea! Their catalog is so deep and full of fantastic gems. I think fans would buy it like hotcakes!

Nanbert said...

....and "Seven Seas of Rhye", "Killer Queen", I Want It All", "Play the Game", "Tie Your Mother Down" "Keep Yourself Alive", "Machines", "Bicycle", "Innuendo"....and "Spread Your Wings" (which I mistakenly called "Fly Away" above) .....plus all of Adam's songs they performed on tour....plus covers, like "Whole Lotta Love", "Heartbreak Hotel", etc.......... already more than enough for another whole NEW "LIVE II" album/DVD/Blu-Ray!

I can't believe that is not already in the "works". It's only logical...and good business.

THEN they could start recording Queen's music that they haven't performed together yet.... BUT NOT BEFORE we get ALL their LIVE performances!.... permanently saved for posterity!

Dee R Gee said...

Too bad about the original song they did and then scrapped. Guess it just didn't feel right. I'm wondering if they'll ever put out an original song. It's got to hit them right in the heart and feel perfect or they won't do it. I would love to see it happen though.

Mi Re La said...

I wonder why they announced that they had recorded a new song with Adam? Maybe they want to test the reaction of the fans to this news and then decide whether to release an album? Another year in which they won't have a concert, I think it's the best time to release an album, not just a song.

Nanbert said...

Maybe they were testing the waters with that announcement, to see what reaction they might get at the idea of NEW music. Or....maybe just to shut up all the questions they keep getting about it!
Or....heh heh...maybe they get along too well together to hammer out new music. It seems that there was a lot of battling among them when they were creating with Freddie!

Funny we were just talking about it, Nanbert, right?

I love Sharka's stuff so much! An overload of cute is there ever was one. I wonder if, when the pandemic is over, Adam and Oliver will become more public with their relationship or keep it all behind the scenes.

Nanbert said...

Is that the same Oliver that Adam was with at that beach earlier....with dark hair then? If so, I guess Adam prefers blondes...so Oliver has become blonde.

I do SO hope Adam finds the love of his life...the forever type that he's searching for....someone who's good to him...and the privacy that most of us would prefer having in our lives.

Dee R Gee said...

I think Oliver just changes his hair color like Adam does, whenever he feels like it. My long-term prediction is that Adam's "forever" love will be someone closer to home, someone whose roots are like his. Just guessing, of course, but that's my theory. Might happen quite a ways down the road, though. In the meantime he's had someone nice guys in his life.

INTERVIEW WITH JAVI COSTA POLO: VALUES COME FIRST BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS DO IT PRETTY

https://www.luxurialifestyle.com/interview-with-javi-costa-polo-values-come-first-but-you-can-always-do-it-pretty/

"I’ve always thought, there was a deeper reason, why I had to be in the United States. That deeper reason came when I met Adam [Lambert]."

Angeladam said...

I just want Adam to be happy like we all do !! the problem with dating guys from Europe is the visa situation , (he knew Javi could only stay so long because I remember Javi putting in his IG during the ‘early days’ ) I’m thinking Adam could be be in the same position again,? Oliver seems quite sweet, , looks like he loves the limelight, snd would got on with the LA lifestyle I think Adam will end up permanently with a slightly more mature guy ( preferably American)but at least he can have fun for now and he’s happy

Dee R Gee said...

Very interesting interview with Javi. One thing is obvious about it. He is a hard worker, a risk-taker, an independent guy. He's always looking for something new and better in his life. I respect him for that. He seems very self-aware. I'll bet he and Adam had some very interesting conversations about the world.

Nanbert said...

Dee R Gee and Angeladam.....I agree...and HOPE that Adam will find someone who has a lot in common with him... mature, intelligent, kind, with a good sense of humor, a strong sense of self, lots of energy....and close to his equal in temperament and tastes....and probably NOT an artist (competitor) in the same milieu.

But life in the spotlight is very stressful and relationship-damaging. So, the most help we can give Adam to sort his private life out, is to do it without all of us sticking our noses into it. Right?

Angeladam said...

I wasn't sticking my nose into anything Nanbert !! just making a comment like others have done, (actually pretty much the same as you just have just done)

Nanbert said...

Now, a change of subject...I have been missing seeing comments here from one of our most frequent and fervent Glamberts.... Sue Smith....from Texas.

Finally, I took the time to scroll back through this website to trace back to when Sue last commented.... it was November 30, 2020! And she ordinarily commented several times a week!

Sue, if you are reading this, let us hear from you.

Mi Re La said...

Maybe Adam prefers these long distance relationships because that way he doesn't devote much of his time to that person and can focus more on his career.

Mi Re La said...

Nanbert , I noticed Sue Smith's absence, and I often wanted to ask if anyone knew anything about her.

VOTE ADAM FOR Male Artist Of The Year Award 2021
http://pop-awards.com/2021/

Nanbert said...

Angeladam...you're too sensitive. Can't imagine why. I was speaking generically. I always make that caveat when people start talking about Adam's past, current and future romances. Many fans get too personal, judgemental and invasive, and often just plain mean-spirited about Adam's boyfriends.

The conversations above were basically innocuous and generic, and in general seemed to be in good taste, well meaning, and neither invasive, hurtful, spiteful, or judgemental. Mostly just fans making nice wishes for Adam.

Surely you can tell the difference! So far, no one crossed that line here....yet.

I was just trying to "head it off at the pass", so to speak. We should never want to hurt Adam's feelings by putting down someone he loved...or turning him against that person because of some derogatory information....or chasing someone away from Adam because they were being attacked and put down by complete strangers just because they were with Adam, but deemed unworthy....etc....or simply forcing Adam and his love apart because they just couldn't withstand the constant scrutiny, fault-finding, nit-picking and fish-bowl life.

Nanbert said...

Mirela...Thanks for the link above to voting for Adam as Male Artist of the Year. Unfortunately, the contest says it started on Jan. 17....and closes on March 7th!

We've already lost a lot of time, Glamberts, but we can vote ONCE PER DAY until/including March 7th, and still give Adam a good run/win?

Angeladam said...

Nanbert I’m not sensitive, but definitely realise if I hadn’t made a comment ( even though nothing nasty or critical was said by me) you CERTAINLY wouldn’t have made any comment afterwards, but you choose to do so and, then even after your
“Now a change of subject” comment, why carry on by sarcastically calling me too sensitive, then stipulating what can and can’t be said ( obviously pointing in my direction? ) please do as you have said and change the subject , and let’s get on !! I really couldn’t cate less who Adam is or isn’t dating but like everyone on here there is an obvious interest snd nobody wants him to get hurt again I persoally want him to be happy just like you do !!
I also hope Sue Smith is ok and healthy , perhaps she’d just having a break from us all ?

Nanbert said...

Angeladam...Please notice that I addressed my comment to Dee R Gee AND you because we three were discussing the same thing....mainly exchanging our thoughts and hopes that Adam find a satisfying permanent relationship. Dee R Gee didn't seem to be offended by me... or choose to take things personally. Nor should you.

As far as my "change of subject" (Sue Smith)....that's JUST what it was. The thought had been weighing on my mind, and I came back here to quickly scroll down and add my comment about her...without reading any intermediate remarks first, including yours. Sorry if you feel slighted and/or ignored... because it's quite unwarranted. Maybe you ARE being a bit sensitive? The only reason I've read your latest remark now is that I was searching to see if anyone had responded to my query about Sue.

Angeladam said...

Nanbert, think the way you worded it might be the reason ? Anyway I certainly don’t feel ignored, don’t really understand your meaning by that remark tbh however let’s just leave it there please
More importantly I really hope Sue is ok and not in bad health ( I know she had health problems) stay safe x

Nanbert said...

Angeladam...yes, leave it there. It's just a "tempest in a teapot", anyway.

Angeladam said...

Nanbert havha yes good description !

Adam's first "pre-event" for the Stonewall commemoration is today. Wonder if we'll see any of it somehow? The second pre-event" is April 22, and the actual event is June 6. He'll be the host. And the filming of that "Stars in Their Eyes" UK show that he'll be judging begins in May. So there are some things on the horizon. I also have jotted down panel discussion that he will be part of for the Center for Gender Affirming Care on May 4. Don't know if any of these things are view-able, but we'll see. It's good to be involved in these things. They keep Adam active in the advocacy world, which is a good thing.

Nanbert said...

Dee R Gee....are any/all those activities virtual...or in person? I can't help but continue to worry about Adam staying safe...and well. I agree that being active in the advocacy world is good for Adam, but not at the cost of his health...especially since those more transmissible forms of the COVID-19 are increasing everywhere.

Dee R Gee said...

I believe they are virtual.
