Las Vegas Weekly: "Adam Lambert is back and broadcasting from Venetian"

Nice piece in one of Sin City's free newspapers, Las Vegas Weekly.  Thanks to our reader Nanbert for the find!
It’s the first time an artist has offered a ticketed livestream for concertgoers at any venue at Venetian or Palazzo, and it’s likely one of the first such endeavors on the Las Vegas Strip.
Lambert...tells the Weekly: "A lot of (fans) can’t get into the country right now, and a lot of others just don’t feel comfortable traveling in our country.  It just seemed like a great thing to do to give more fans some of this experience."

I bought my ticket! So glad that Adam decided to do this. He's very generous.

Got mine too Dee! Next Wednesday!

Told two friends who are Adam fans but couldn't make the show about the livestream — they are both grateful to have been told and SOOOOO excited!! Thanks, Adam, AND The Venetian for allowing this to happen first time from Vegas — you're making A LOT of people very, very happy. (Hm, wonder if this is a 50/50 split for Adam + Venetian after video'ing and streaming expenses are deducted? Or will there be a commercial or two for The Venetian while he changes costumes?)

Dee R Gee said...

I was wondering the same thing, broddy. The stream is live, of course, and he has costume changes. Maybe the band will just play an extended bridge or something. We'll see. It's cool to know that Adam is the first artist to offer this at the Venetian, and one of the first (if not THE first) to do it in Las Vegas. Sounds like lots of fans are buying the stream. Hope it really pays of for him. Lots of fans will be VERY happy and a very reasonable price.

Finally! Adam sings "Can't Let You Go" at last night's show. Here's a fan's cell phone video of it...preceded by "Underneath". WoW! Goosebumps!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Gibk71qzyE

Adam's set list is a killer!....both to hear and to sing. Hope his famous vocal stamina holds out to the end of this series. Hope it's in top shape for the 29th streaming!

Dee R Gee said...

His set list includes songs we've been asking him to sing live for a long time. Runnin', Underneath, as two examples. Now if he'd just throw in Pick U Up, I'd be even more thrilled !

Angeladam said...

Love tge fact he sang songs from ‘way back’ that personally mean’t a lot to him !

Adam is just fabulous and his band are amazing! Been catching up with other people’s videos, last night I saw a video where Adam had his “Bad Moon Rising” video on the screen while he left to change his outfit/clothes. A handful of Glamberts posted meeting Eber at the Venetian last night, all said how nice he was to them and thanking him for taking a picture with them, also Eber let his hair grow long, it’s just touching his shoulders. The fans call him Dadbert! Hahaha

Dee R Gee said...

Sunflower, I saw those photos, too! Eber was at the concert and had pix taken with fans. He's so nice with fans. And he has good hair!

Good news about Cover Bands! More Adam is fine with me!

I was a little late buying my livestream ticket. Started to buy it then my husband needed me and I spaced for a few days. I bought it late Thursday. My question is how long did it got looped to contact anyone else.who bought the live stream ticket?

Dee R Gee said...

Rosepetal, I'm in the same boat as you. I bought my streaming just last week. I got an order number. My order said that I would get a message from Looped very soon to get me connected to the stream. Haven't heard from them yet. I've heard that some people have had to email Looped several times to get help getting connected. Hope I don't get goofed up with this.

Rosepetal said...

DRG
Thanks. I’m hoping the same. I almost passed
Cuz wasn’t sure if I was too late with my purchase. I’m going to wait until tomorrow I feel like that’s … cutting it pretty close … then I will start emailing them. My confirmation email said that Luke will be reaching out to me in the coming weeks…. So I’m a little freaked out.

Dee R Gee said...

At least the people who had problems did get them worked out and are good to go. Fingers crossed.

Rosepetal said...

DRG
A little info. I downloaded the Looped app and created an account it pop up the livestream. Give it a try and let me know. Fingers crossed and eyes it works.

Rosepetal said...

DRG
It also said to log in to LoopedLive.com from your computer to watch. You should be able to set up account from there.

Dee R Gee said...

Rosemary, thank you so much for the Looped web address. I am more comfortable doing that than downloading an app which I have had trouble with in the past. I'll be watching the concert on my laotop.

Rosepetal said...

DRG
Glad it helped I do everything on my phone or tablet so the app worked better for me .

Dee R Gee said...

I had to download Google Chrome since it wouldn't accept my regular Google. No biggie. Looks like I'm all set up now. Just gotta make sure I go through the steps on Friday and make it work. Very excited!

Nanbert said...

Well, looking at/listening to Adam's latest edition of "For Your Entertainment" in the Vegas concert.....the background videos are sort of Adam's "middle finger"(IMO) to the reaction that the originally televised AMA performance caused! I notice he even had the kiss pixilated in this video....to revisit his indignation at the news photos about the performance that had pixilated his kiss with his keyboardist (Tommy?)....and when he had made the point of showing his indignation that kisses between women on stage that WEREN'T pixilated....which he considered discrimination.

Well, Adam, attitudes have changed a lot since then...many thanks to your straight forward and unapologetic "being yourself"....but I can see that the memory of the reaction to that AMA performance still stings!

Watch Glamberts...and your thoughts about this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uORrclFGGaM

Dee R Gee said...

I agree, Nanbert. Those pixilated parts speak volumes. Adam is making a pretty powerful statement about what happened years ago. This new FYE video is pure defiant Adam.

Nanbert said...

Dee R Gee, exactly!

Dee R Gee said...

So if I am right about the clock calculation for Friday night's streaming show, those of us on Central Time will be tuning in at 10 PM, right? Don't want to miss a thing.

Nanbert said...

Sounds right, Dee R Gee. I am on Eastern time (EDT), so my concert starts at 11:00 pm. I guess Vegas time will be 9:00pm. So excited for this concert!

Dee R Gee, YES! 10:00 pm. is the correct time for us in the Central Time zone! I got an email this morning confirming that I’m on the list! Along with instructions on how to log in to the Looped site. So looking forward to this, I pray that the crappy weather we’re having won’t interfere with the stream, fingers crossed too.

Nanbert you being Eastern Time is 1 hour ahead of us Central peeps!

Imagine people from all over the globe will watch too, at different time zones, some very early in the morning, or in the afternoon or like us in the evening! Mind Blowing!!!

Waiting for broddy to report back here to fill us in on his Las Vegas adventure! He did say he was going to Wednesday’s (last night’s) show!

Nanbert said...

So happy this will be worldwide....Glamberts everywhere can enjoy Adam together...like a drink of water in the desert!

Nanbert said...

We'll probably never know this information, but I bet we would be amazed to hear how many have bought into Adam's streaming concert. Hope it all goes smoothly, so it will be done more often. My guess is that Adam's earlier streaming concert was a big success...hence this one!

Dee R Gee said...

Getting very excited for tomorrow night! My wifi was messing up this morning and I got nervous, but it's fine now. The streaming instructions say to log at least a half hour before the show. I will be ready at 10PM!

I hope people from all over the world will be streaming with us. Adam has fans everywhere. Some have been posting their virtual M&G with Adam. He treats everyone so beautifully. He knows how nervous they are.

Mi Re La said...

For me the streaming show it will be Saturday at 6 am. I'm very impatient

Good thing I’m getting excited cuz I’ve been up since 3:00 am !!!! Was gonna take a nap but my husband fell … scared me to death. He’s pretty bonged up but ok ,

Nanbert said...

Well...the Vegas stream is over, and it was superb! Adam was in great voice...as usual, and his band is fabulous! I liked the music arrangements, and the transitions between songs. It was a great set-list, and nicely planned out for continuity....EXCEPT FOR ONE THING....ADAM DID NOT SING "CAN'T LET YOU GO"!...sob! I was really looking forward to hearing that again, and when Adam sang "Underneath", I got all excited, expecting to hear CLYG follow...as he had performed it in an earlier concert...but NO! WHY?

I was waiting at Looped from 10:30 for the 11:00 start....but it was announced to start at 11:15 instead...so-o-o Adam! Late as usual. I was patient, but DID dislike the background music played while waiting....not Adam's, and not to my liking, at all. Would have preferred silence to that music. I'm probably not very hip!

Mi Re La said...

I'm very disappointed that Adam didn't sing Can't Let You Go.

This is the recording of the concert made by my husband

Dee R Gee said...

I thought the show was great! He sounded wonderful and I really liked the background visuals. When he said he was giving us a Halloween vibe, he wasn't kidding! I would have liked Can't Let You Go, too, but there are lots of songs I'd love to hear him sing live. Pick U Up for one. I was very glad to hear Ready To Run! It's a song that isn't talked about much but it's one of my favorites. It really MOVES.

One thing more, and I'm probably in the minority here. I think he just wears too many clothes. All these caftan/tunic things look a bit clumsy to me. He never wants to show anything more than his arms. I know he's gained weight, but he has also taken off a lot of it. In recent interviews, etc., he looks really good, weight-wise. And those huge high boots are fun, too, but they also seem a bit clunky. Would love to see him in a sleeker look again. He's as gorgeous ever, after more than 12 years since we met him.

Loved the show! The band was great! That lead guitarist was superb.

Nanbert said...

Dee R Gee...I totally agree with you about Adam's costumes...a bit too voluminous. They MUTE Adam's electric body movements and positions that add so much to his performances, IMO. As a pandemic weight-gainer myself, I can sympathize with Adam's dilemma....but HIS body has been definitely PART of his TOTAL PACKAGE, i.e. with athletic and lithe body lines, and striking moves.

That said, Adam's voice is still one of the wonders of the world...and even seems better, stronger and richer than ever. His set list was heroic! And, of course, he was as handsome as ever.

And yes, the lead guitarist was amazing! Where does Adam find all these superb musicians?
His band keeps changing all the time...and only keeps getting better! The music arrangements, wedded to the background videos, were absolutely riveting...and suprisingly fresh!

Mi Re La.... Thanks for trying to send us a recording to the concert. Unfortunately, it has already been removed from Youtube.

Mi Re La said...

Nanbert unfortunately Youtube also sent a warning to my husband.

Mi Re La said...

I am afraid to talk about it and I know that many people will criticize me but at 39 years old he could still have control over his weight. Several weeks spent in the gym would solve this. I don't understand, he is really satisfied with this belly that he has and because of which he almost doesn't move anymore? Lately he prefers to cover his body with as many clothes as possible and as wide as possible instead of doing something to get rid of the extra weight?
Adam's voice continues to be fantastic, but many loved him for his perfect body and the way he moves on stage.

Dee R Gee said...

Cam has been Adam's keyboardist before. The bassist and the drummer are rather recent and are very good. And I think he's worked with the guitarist before, too.

I was hoping for an encore, but no luck. I'm so greedy.
I kind of wish he'd acknowledged those who bought streaming tickets and were watching from home. I'm sure it was a sizable number.

Heard that Oliver and his parents were in the audience. And so was Leila.

Dee R Gee said...

Ditto, Mi Re La.

Angeladam said...

Mi Re La totally agree he seems to be ‘happy’ wearing long tunics to cover his ‘belly’ that’s his decision of course , but for me I think he has ‘let himself go a bit’ I would love to see him back to looking amazing when he was and on the last QAL tour , but probably easier said than done , have to say though his vocals are perfect !!

Patria said...

I love Adam as much as I have since he wowed me on American Idol. I just don't see him as a sex symbol anymore. He has probably picked up new fans and admirers with his current look.

I'm loving all these public appearances just as much as ever. Not only for my pleasure but because he is having so many successes. I want it all for him just as I always have.

Excited for the WD special and really enjoying Clash of the Cover bands.

Haven't heard about Adam's mom in a long time. Good to hear she was there in Vegas.

All day yesterday I was getting whatever household chores needed to be done. By 7:00 pm Central time I was relaxing a bit, watching television until it would be 9:30 pm, my time. Well I am a stupid dork because it took me 40 minutes to get into the loopedlive site! For all the corners of this earth I just couldn’t understand how to get there. All day on email I was getting all these reminders about the stream and beginning to irritate me. On these emails it says “watch looped” in this red square, so what did I do? I pressed on this square and it took me to loopedlive site to create or register and I just cried Noooo! I already have an account and from there on I cried because I felt lost! It was past 10:00 pm. My time and finally it occured to go to the actual looped live site and I got in BUT The page was on chat and reading comments I realized Adam had came on stage and I didn’t hear or see anything! 😭. People on chat were telling me what to do, so to my stupidity I needed to scroll down more to see the play button, I pressed button and Adam just finished singing “Evil in the Night”, I missed the first 2 songs 😭. Excellent stream on all levels, Adam just fabulous along with his band! Everyone wants to hear Can’t Let You Go, BUT I want to hear “Pick U Up” ( me too Dee). I saw a pic of Oliver sitting between Leila and her husband. 😁

Nanbert said...

Sunflower, I can SO relate to your problem! Glad you finally got in.

Guess what, guys. I just checked on Youtube for videos from Adam's final night, and found "CAN'T LET YOU GO"!...back again on the set list! Darn! Can't imagine why Adam cut that from our streaming concert!

Nanbert said...

Just thinking....Hollywood seems to have many magic body builders...who can mold couch potato stars into super heroes. I could sure use one myself about now. And maybe Adam.....?

Glad Adam's parents, and their respective spouses, were present for his concerts. Of course, they would be. But what must they think of their fabulous son? Certainly a lot of pride...and a lot of awe!

That was really a great concert....some top-notch music happening there! The "tweaked" arrangements made Adam's songs sound fresh and new!

Nanbert said...

Broddy...we're still waiting for your report about your attendence to Adam's concert.

Dee R Gee said...

Enjoyed Oliver's cutout outfit. He can sure pull of high fashion very well. He's got the look and the body for it. He such a dainty looking guy. But he carries himself well and always looks confident.

Adam Lambert Goes All Out as King of the Sea for Halloween!

Dee R Gee said...

Wow! That King of the Sea costume is magnificent!!! He REALLY went all out on this one!

Nanbert said...

Goodness! Now we know what Adam spent his spare time on during the pandemic... beachcombing and putting seashells and beach items on his Halloween costume! heh heh

Just kidding...sorta. But that King of the Sea costume was certainly monumental! Adam gets to delve into his artistry and creativeness every Halloween....and is always amazingly inventive and intricate in his fancies! As an artist, he uses himself as a canvas. I'm sure he had a ball putting it all together and wearing it out on the town.

If he ever needs a second career, he's a shoo-in for theatrical makeup and special effects!
There should be a museum just for Adam's Halloween fantasies! Gotta love the kid in him...as well as the artist!

Loved the Vegas show Adam was fantastic his vocals super humam. I have had alot going on so have not had any time to post. However I saw Adam in a video before the stream. He did not wear this costume on the stream. He had on a tight pair of leather pants looked leather a sleeveless tee shirt with a sparkle skull on it and boots at one of the Vegas shows. He had no jacket no coat or large top on just a fitted tee and tight pants. He looked really good I saw no stomach and he looked like he had lost a good amount of weight. The bulkier clothes put a bit of weight on him. I thought he looked good and sounded amaizing.
There are women and men singing artist out there that are twice the size of Adam and its even part of their popularity and they are popular and one in particular younger.
I definitely think Adam is sexy still. I love the man for the person he is. However I think he still looks great and he sounds phenominal.

Unknown said...

I was interested to come to this site to find out how everyone enjoyed Adam's Vegas concert.
It's very disappointing to see a number of negative comments regarding Adam's weight and the clothes he chose to wear for his Vegas concerts. I've noticed other sites with mean spirited comments regarding the same thing. Fat shaming is a form of discrimination, it's no different than discriminating against someone over the colour of their skin, their religion or their sexual preference. OK, he is close to 40 years old, it's quiet natural for people to gain a few pounds around this age but he still looks healthy and still comes across as a stunningly good looking guy, he is certainly now where near his use by date, and why should age be a factor any way, I say appreciate his beautiful voice and his many talents, love him for the person he is instead of thinking of him as some sort of pin up boy. His matured but in a very nice way, and deserves far more respect than what he's been getting of late.

Nanbert said...

Unknown....I know where you're coming from, and I agree with you...in principle. However, Adam is not our next door neighbor! Like all performers, Adam is constantly in the public eye. But he is not simply A VOICE. His body movements and poses are energetic, striking and electric....and enhance his performances uniquely. In other words, he is the "total package"! That's what makes him such a striking performer.

Losing those body lines...because of overweight, and/or always covering them up with voluminous clothing, detracts a bit from that "total package". It's just a fact. That doesn't mean we don't love him as much as ever! Just read all the great compliments we've all been writing about him! Glamberts are probably the most supportive and avid fans you'll find anywhere! But telling the truth is not a sin, or an insult....it's more like advice. We all want the BEST for Adam...he has many years to be AT THE TOP OF HIS GAME! After all, it's HIS career. There are always more new Glamberts to be captured by him. And he will!

Unknown said...

Nanbert....

I do not appreciate you implying that a I see Adam as my next door neighbor or telling me that Adam is not simply A VOICE as you put it. Adam's voice is everything and I'm not the only fan who see's it that way, his voice, his great sense of humour and his personality are the things that so many fans admire, also his charity work with the Feel Something Foundation, Adam has many fine qualities that most of his fans admire him for, the things that really count. As far as his weight or clothing he chooses to wear, these things are Adam's business, I'm sure he is intelligent enough to work it out for himself without disrespectful fans throwing out rude offensive comments. I stand by my comments FAT SHAMING is a form of discrimination, if Adam wishes to lose weight I'm sure he will but it has to come from within him. The majority of his fans loved seeing him back on stage and spoke highly of how great his voice was and how happy he appeared to be, the visuals were outstanding, and I for one thought the coats he chose to wear were great. Sadly it's only a small few who seem content in putting him down, but that's their loss. It's not his fans place to go telling him what he should be doing, his family are very supportive and he has his manager, I'm sure if they have any concerns they are in a better position to give any advice if needed.

Nanbert said...

Unknown...I respect your point of view...and share it in the context of the average person to person relationship, whether friends or strangers....But I also suggest you respect and understand my point of view. I am neither attacking Adam or you...and don't need any preaching. I agree wholeheartedly about all of Adam's virtues that you mentioned...which is a huge part of his persona. I don't need reminding. I suggest you read some of my comments here...you will see that I am one of his MOST COMPLIMENTARY and dedicated fans, always! Also understand that I would be an Adam fan if he weighed 300 lbs and wore a tent!

But also understand that Adam is a performer...a STAR. Like other stars before him, he has presented a persona that makes him attractive to the public, and grows new fans... that's his BUSINESS/CAREER! In my opinion, hearing Adam sing is fabulous...but watching him while he's singing is twice as good. His physical appearance and electric movements/positions enhance his performance...are an important part of his persona...and contribute to his gravitas, IMO. Anything that detracts from that is alarming....be it a few extra pounds and/or concealing clothing.

Also, Adam is the one who has encouraged all his Glamberts to become especially involved in his makeup and costumes...i.e. his physical appearance. That's also part of his persona. He encourages the feedback we give him....and he's perfectly capable of taking it with a grain of salt...or to gain insight. What you insist on inflating into "FAT SHAMING", I call "FEEDBACK".

I only wish Adam a flourishing and increasingly successful career...for him to be recognized and loved as a STAR all over the world....to be an ICON! Unfortunately, it sometimes takes so little to unseat a career!

Unknown said...

Nanbert...

When I mentioned Fat Shaming I was referring to a form of discrimination, that's both rude, disrespecful and it can be hurtful. You have taken the term I chose to use out of context saying you see it as FEEDBACK. Adam is not fat, he has put on a few pounds that's all, he still looks great and I'm sure although well intentioned he would not appreciate unsolicited advice. The makeup tutorials are a different matter where he invited fans to give an opinion. Until he does the same over his weight the less said the better.

That's all I have to say on the matter, I have better things to do with my time than to sit here trying to make a point as it's obvious nothing I say can sway you, I disagree with the excuses you keep coming up with and the way you have tried to twist my words.

Nanbert said...

Yes, let us agree to disagree....and drop it there. We're both wasting our time.

Nanbert said...

BTW...for the record....I NEVER said Adam is FAT!....because he isn't! But, I DO agree with Unknown's comment (above) ..."he has put on a few pounds that's all, he still looks great...".

Unknown said...

Nanbert... Once again, you have taken my words out of context and twisted them, I'm sure anyone reading my comments will understand where I was coming from, on the other hand your simply trying to make out that I'm no better than those who were being disrespecful, so all your really doing is showing yourself up for who you really are. Not only do you hand out insults regarding Adam but you insult others who happen to disagree with you by twisting their words to justify yourself. I see right through you, and hopefully others will too.

Unknown said...

Nanbert...I you can say what you want, I refuse to waist time talking to a manipulator.

Nanbert said...

Unknown.... you look for slights where none exist. I resent you accusing me, and many others here, of Fat-Shaming and insulting Adam. I quoted you to show we actually felt the SAME way about Adam. If I offend you it's because you didn't comprehend what I said....or CHOSE NOT TO!. Perhaps it's more fun for you to call me a "manipulator"--or accuse me of "taking your words out of context" and "twisting" them...of "seeing right through me"...and, in other words, using a "victim" smoke screen to cover yourself.

After you entered this site, you said you'd visited other sites before ours and that you've seen numerous comments about Adam's weight and clothes during the Vegas concert...and immediately accused us of Fat-Shaming and insulting Adam...including a lecture about discrimination against him.

Then you said above..."O.K., he is close to 40 years old, it's quite natural for people to gain a few pounds around his age but he still looks healthy..."

That's pretty much what the rest of us have been saying!

My big mistake was taking you at face value, and hastened to placate your concerns about Adam being disrespected. It never occurred to me that you were "baiting" me...OR WHOEVER answered your comment. Actually, it appears you came "loaded for bear" and looking for an argument. It's quite likely you've got similar "discussions" going on at those other "mean-spirited" sites you visited around the same time!

I've read about people who wander around the internet "throwing bombs", starting arguments, insulting people, etc., who get their "jollies" causing discord. I think we've all encountered them. It's possible you're not one of them...but your "modus operandi" seems familiar.

This has been a big W-A-S-T-E of time!

Unknown said...

Nanbert...Wow!!! Your comments are so abusive and far worse than anything I have had to say, you sound like a very unhappy person, I feel sorry for you, I never set out to bait you, you kept coming back at me, at first it was subtle but then it became more obvious, some of the things you have just said about me are complete lies and you have made a number of assumptions which are totally untrue. I won't waste my time trying to explain myself in more detail as no matter what I say I'm sure you will manage to pull it apart. I'll leave you to take out your frustrations on some other poor devil.

Nanbert said...

Unknown....please feel free to list in detail here ALL the things I said about you that are complete lies.
I made two assumptions about you, both of which I identified by the way I spoke of them, that may or may not be true.
