Adam Lambert is guesting tonight, Tuesday, December 13, 2022, on the Finale episode of NBC's The Voice.  Voice judge John Legend has been running a very casual talk show backstage prior to the broadcast with whichever guests come on The Voice and he asked Adam to be his guest on this episode.  Right now it is only available on Instagram but hopefully everyone is able to see it*.  If you can't, John usually posts them later on his YouTube channel and we'll try to get that up here when he does.

*there is some bad coding in the embed code which is making the video stretched out at the bottom of the frame; however, when you press play the video will run just fine on the top half of the frame.

What a beautiful duet! I didn't know this song before, and now I'm even more excited to hear Adam sing it solo. It's a gem.

Oops. Sorry double post.

This is coming from me personally, NOT as a blog admin, but I just can't take John Legend, he wears his ego too much on his sleeve. The transition from when Adam started out the first few lines of the song to when it was John's turn — WAY too jarring! John should have lowered his modulation, he was singing an entirely different song. Adam, of course, did an AMAZING job! Also, to have John sit at the piano and Adam tower over him is not how you do an interview— he should have stood up or they should have both been sitting in tall directors chairs — I found it a little disrespectful and I am stunned Legend didn't get that with all his stage experience.

Just sayin'...

John Legend does not have a modest bone in his body. I agree with you about how John leapt into that song with both feet when Adam was giving it the gentle touch it required. John has a need to outshine, I guess.

I couldn't have said it better, Dee.

Maybe John was intimidated by Adam's fabled "powerhouse" voice....and tried to rise to the occasion? Who knows?...I agree it was a bit "unbalanced" in emphasis. Possibly each has a different personal interpretation of the song.

Speaking about "egos" and "modest bones", I doubt if either John or Adam are "shrinking violets" in that category. Neither would be where they are now without supreme confidence in their ability. Of course, Adam reigns IMO!

Yesterday, received an email offering the opportunity to pre-order "High Drama", and immediately put in my order. Hurray! Can't wait 'til it's released! ... I think it said February 24th. My Xmas present to me...albeit a couple of months late!
