I truly don't think Ryan was trying to make a joke or referencing anything. Adam had just told him he should stick his tongue out more when singing WWFM, and Ryan responded that his tongue wasn't nearly as talented as Adam's. I think he honestly was referring to his singing ability. Whenever a reference is made to one's tongue, whether it's Ryan or someone else making the remark, the meaning will be construed as sexual, and it doesn't matter if the recipient is gay, straight, or female.

Ryan is known for his bantering. I think the comment was inappropriate, and thankfully, Adam choose not to comment. It made Ryan look stupid. Ryan was especially obnoxious tonight.

Ryan's a little twat. Never liked him. He just likes the sound of his own voice.

If he referenced AMA in his joke, that's funny.

Alas, I saw it as a joke about how Adam would be good at rimming, and that's just distasteful and tacky.

Yikes that one didn't come out right. And Adam was crazy quick to have noticed it. Goes to show how much flack he's been receiving ever since RS of last year, to have responded fast enough to throw comments like that back out the window. Amazing tack Adam has.
And of course, how can we forget that awful TMZ pap that tried to out Adam while he was still on AI.
His ability to filter through questions and conversations at such speed is awe inspiring.

You gotta admit our boy is quick on his feet in not responding to innuendos thrown by Ryan. It just proves once again that Adam is smarter than anyone who has ever tried to bait him into saying something.

I thought Adam DID respond with his expression on his face immediately following Ryan's comment. I thought it might have just blown over had Adam not responded.
I agree though with anon 9:58. A comment on the tongue will be construed as sexual without reference to sexual preference.

i don't think it was deliberate but I thought it was really funny.lighten up people. i think ryan is acting like an idiot because the management told him to make things more upbeat and interesting cuz they're losing ratings.adam once said about Ryan that he's like a machine so I think he just does what he's told.

I AGREE- lighten up people-Adam does not have to live his life in a straight jacket worrying about evey sexual inuendos etc. just to keep EVERYONE happy. I thought it was funny .

What was Ryan smoking? Was it me, or did he behave off kilter? He was like a stupid drunk frat-boy trying to be cool at a party. Ugh. Never, ever liked him! Had to put up with him so I could see Adam last year but honestly, he is a tool. I admit, I don't watch AI, (expect for season 8) so, Ryan could be like this all the time, but he did seem high on something other than the fact that he gets paid way too much for what he does!

I didn't think it was anything to be concerned about, because that stupid banter goes on everywhere these days on TV. I can't believe Ryan makes as much money for what he does, though. Adam on the other hand is a class act no matter what people say about the AMA show. I hope he increases his album and single sales from yesterday and today.

OK people, the comment didn't come out right, but Ryan was just talking about Adam's singing, and the way he sticks his tongue out...that's all!!

You know what...all that junk is going to go on just to keep people all stirred up. The main thing is OUR ADAM is THE idol that American Idol has always looked for. The proof is the fact they asked him back to mentor...mentor folks and he did a good job. He has a good answer for everything and has such upbeat thoughts. He is an idol and I can hardly wait to see him tonight and wish he would do an Elvis son...Elvis has always been my favorite and Adam falls right after him. I see great potential in Adam even though I don't agree with some things about his life...but it is his life and he is doing a GOOD JOB of living it.

Seacrest has lost it! What WAS he doing tonight!...and after Warwicks recent statement regarding ADAM .... Seacrest blurted a very surprizing comment!....
But what the heck...ADAM's face was just beautifully priceless!...... and I sure wish people would get over the AMA'S..because international fans all over the world accept that performance as art and freedom of expression...out the box ADAM!...He is one super cool guy!
