a clear 1.30 sounding good.

Sounds amazing! This just has to be an eventual single please!

Anonymous said...

Sounds wonderful...Adam's vocals clear finally! All the fan vids we heard before were really difficult to make out lyrics and more importantly hear Adam's beautiful voice. Can't wait for this to be released as a single.

Are there going to be campaign to raise money to buy/gift Adam's track on 9/16?

I have great affinity with this Lay Me Down song; find it very uplifting and particularly like the 2 lines of the refrain. Adam's voice absolutely suits this genre, it has that angst quality. Just remember to let his voice come through. The Tripod! I keep coming up with all sorts of 'triple' names. lol! I kind of like The Tripod because a tripod is a stand with 3 legs; if one is missing the tripod can't stand so this name is suitable for their combined effort of Lay Me Down.

Is that as clear as it's going to get? Vocal is still swamped in parts. Damn.

Greetings from Finland!

The song sounds amazing, I love it already! The first Avicii Wake me up and the last Lay me down ; )

On one TV channel will be very interesting night tonight, David Bovie special. One hour document of his five the most important years in his career, then two concerts, the first A reality tour from Dublin and Ziggy Stardust - a director´s cut. One magazine told that 1973 David Bowie has performed in Helsinki April 1973 and has afterparty in a club with Iggy Pop and amazing Marc Bolan! Bolan has the promotour same time in Finland. Amazing history! Where were twitter and instagram, no pics : )
I`ll never forget Adam performing 20th century boy by Marc Bolan, our Glamrockers remembering with love,

I love to see pics Adam and Sauli having fun and partying with they friends also in Hollywood and in Helsinki : )

Happy weekend, M

Serious: the song sounds great in it's own genre.

Sarcastic: finally real Adam news. I was bored to people complaining in some threads. I read and scroll and read and scroll everything concerning Adam and his career and life.

I don't pre-order or buy it at all. I just listen to that on radio. Not my type of music (to buy). But I love Adam and his voice and buy Adam's own music (have bought the two first albums and calmly waiting for album number 3).

Anonymous said...

3:38 i guess u could keep your pen in your poket wait till album 3 come out.meanwhile LMD not your cup of tea but for everybody it is fantastic song to listen and dance.I cant wait to hear in my ipod.

Anonymous said...

I can not believe it but I really like this ,,makes me want to dance...even though Adam's beautiful voice does get smothered by the electronic stuff..it still makes me want to move...

Avicii doesn't credit the singers on his new cd. Does anyone know that name of the singer on Wake Me Up?

It's ALO BLACC - here he is in Rolling stone:

"It's fun to get messages from people who finally discover that I am singing the song."

What has the huge success of "Wake Me Up" been like for you?

As a songwriter, it is wonderful for the world to appreciate the lyrics you write. As a singer, it is even better for people to become a fan of your voice. I'm very happy that I have the chance to earn the respect of new fans with both my lyrics and my voice. A friend of mine told me he had to educate his coworker whom he overheard complementing Avicii's voice. He leaned over and said, "That's not actually Avicii singing, that's Aloe Blacc."

Full interview:

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/how-avicii-helped-aloe-blacc-wake-up-and-break-out-20130828

A nice collaboration but any singles from this cd will be called Avicii singles. Adam will have to make his own way. This will not do it for him.

How do we share this great Adam Lambert music on Facebook?

I'm still a Facebook novice.

Anonymous said...

5:16 thank you for telling us this... once again.

Anonymous said...

LMD is good opportunity for adam to expend his fan base.who knows maybe some of avicii fans will check it out adam. All of singer contribute in Avicii album got same opportunity and they have their own fan base like us.what we want is Adam name is well known in every part of the word.Avicii give this opportunity to adam and we fans are so blessed.see.. Everybody loves WMU which written and sang by alo blacc.without colaborration with Avici i dont think people known him.Adam is fortunate coz he already famous in media but not well known by EDM people.so this is good opportunity for him and media will boost his star power.

Anonymous said...

Love love love this song! When we finally hear it as it will sound on the album that will be great. I hope it becomes a single and gets a lot of play. Adam was a co-writer of the song, right? I know Avicii doesn't mention the singers on the album, but this is still something we can help promote for Adam. Facebook, Twitter, requests, etc. The song has a really great hook. It sticks in your head and you don't want to get it out.
5:16, we know, we know, yeah.

I don't like Lay Me Down, it smothers Adam's voice with electronic sounds, yes no doubt it will do well in dance clubs but I can't see it doing Adam justice. I really think Adam should throw himself into his 3rd album if he wants real recognition, his voice reigns supreme and his music needs to reflect that. The TP album was far more superior than this single LMD.

Anonymous said...

6:29 AM
I totally agree!

Anonymous said...

I love this new song LMD.

Anonymous said...

Adam cant pleased his fan, right.we cant demand adam to sing the way we want.it up to adam and his collaborator how to present his voice. For me adam voice and music arrangement in LMD is perfectly balance and better than the way dr luke did in NCOE.Of course album 3 will be focus to adam voice.isnt he said want to explore organic music for next album. Why not we support LMD for adam.this is his side project.no all adam fan loved EDM.EDM is more to younger generation.i definately loved LMD .it makes me to get up and dance.

Anonymous said...

I think it's fine as a dance song but it does not sound like a radio hit to me.

Anonymous said...

7;21am
thank God you said to 'you'.

Anonymous said...

I ordered my copy and I will participate to help LMD to move up on iTunes on 9/16. As fans we should do whatever it takes to make Adam more visible.

Anonymous said...

What a beautiful song, sounds so good in my opinion. I wish his name was listed on the record. But in time people will know who he is. Just love this song. For the record, I am an older fan.

Anonymous said...

As far as this song being a radio hit, to me it sounds better then most songs I hear on the radio. In my opinion 100% better.

Anonymous said...

That Voice! "One in one hundred million" per Roger Taylor of Queen.

Anonymous said...

Agreed 7:41.some fans here have negative thinking about this damn song.RS already said this is no 1 music in their choice.why as a fan we easily lost hope without even trying to support it?we want adam visible in music industry.enough what happen to TP become history in our fandom.

Anonymous said...

Thank you 07:41 am
we all keep whining and complaining about how adam is treated in music industry.i implore all true glambert to buy/preorder lay me down;that way we make adam more visible, get more collabs and bam! Hits it!

Anonymous said...

WWFM & IIHY are still being played on the radio and are truly representative of Adam, Sleepwalker is another example of Adam's beautiful vocals and would have made a great single, house music is rarely played on radio and sadly that's what LMD is it's house music played mostly at dance clubs rarely on radio. I think Adam will gain a wider audience while on Glee and hopefully with his up and coming 3rd album. Avicii and Nile know great talent so not surprising they wanted Adam for the vocals on LMD, if it gains younger fans for Adam then great but I sincerely doubt it.

Anonymous said...

Adam's voice is one in a million and that's precisely why I'd like to be able to hear his vocals on LMD, but as I stated in my previous post his voice sounds stifled by electronics.

glitzylady said...

No worries :)) People will know exactly who is singing the lyrics on Wake Me Up, particularly if it is released as a single. It won't be a secret. It's not like Adam is some obscure unknown-to-the-world singer. It may be on Avicii's album but Adam is well enough known that he'll get mention for singing the vocals. We've known for awhile who the singers are on all of the tracks on Avicii's new album. It's no secret. And of course the singers will be listed in the credits of the album...

The inside booklet will almost always list names of tracks, lyrics, musicians playing the music, and anyone who is singing on that particular track. Adam Lambert's name will be listed on the Lay Me Down track as doing vocals, and perhaps as a co-writer. Nile Rogers will be listed as well. And if the song is released as a single, a good percentage will know one way or another that it's Adam singing. There will be a certain number of Avicii fans who don't care who's voice it is, and there will be those who do know.. And radio will certainly mention it. As will the media. Crossing my fingers that it's released as a single at some point.

For the record :) , Lay Me Down has been stuck in my head ever since we heard the first fuzzy, indistinct fan vid of it from an Avicii concert. That can't be a bad sign, right??!! This new much clearer studio version recording is great IMO. ***The song is meant as dance music, not as a showcase for Adam's voice, although he comes through fine, in fact more than fine, to me.*** And on the final song release, the sound quality will be even better. I'm really excited to have the full song on Sept. 17th in the US, sooner in some countries.....

Anonymous said...

Glitzylady
I respect your passion and enthusiasm but have to disagree. I'd love this music to do well for Adam's sake but you need to be realistic, house music is rarely played on radio, it's more likely to be played in dance clubs and more likely that young people will want to buy the album, most of who are mad Avicii fans, so their is no guarantee they will be converted towards following Adam, if they do I can only see a small percentage actually taking time to sit and bother reading the booklet inside the CD most of them will be too impatient wanting to hear the music they love and not bother taking it further.

Anonymous said...

Once again the "expert" tells us how things will be and how we should think.

Anonymous said...

Glitzy, did you mean LMD in that first sentence?

Most Avicii fans will buy the download not the physical cd so if Avicii does list the collaboraters there they won't see it. But if people are interested it is easy to find out who sings on each track.

Anonymous said...

@9:56 AM Once again all you do is complain and whine.

Anonymous said...

If Adam's fans talk it up in a positive way, he will be much more visible.

glitzylady said...

I'm realistic (and not all hearts and flowers) in spite of what you think of me, admittedly passionate fan or not!! (Guilty as charged in that particular case!). I've been a fan of Adam's for the entire time, Idol onwards and while I seem to be a single minded cheerleader for Adam, I'm also no naive fan who doesn't know what's going on in the music world (believe it or not...)... and the realities of what's happening in his career.

I know that House/EDM music is put out as dance music and is primarily heard in clubs..and in Avicii's case, at his (huge) concerts around the world. But I must (optimistically, of course! :))) disagree with you that it doesn't have a chance to be played on the radio if it is released as a single. Avicii's recent single Wake Me Up, has been getting radio play, massively in Europe. It is also getting some play here in the US from what we've heard, no doubt because WMU is a perfect fit for the music currently popular in the US ie Folk/Rock ala Mumford and Sons, Phillip Phillips, etc. etc. genre. (which I happen to enjoy by the way..along with a wide variety of music genres and not just Adam's..).

As to whether Lay Me Down will have the same success, or even it will be a single, who knows. And if you re-read my post, I did agree that many (if not most) Avicii fans won't care who it is singing on a track.. But perhaps a few will discover Adam through it. I choose to be **cautiously** optimistic about Lay Me Down. If it doesn't go anywhere, I'll be waiting for Adam's new music.. Well, I will be doing that anyway, but I'm excited for the possibility of LMD being at least a modest success. It's all we can hope for, right??

glitzylady said...

@Anon 10:01 AM
ooooopssssss!!! You are of course correct! I meant Lay Me Down! (reminder to self: proof read....)...

Anonymous said...

I agree most Avicii fans are young and will be more likely to buy a download and not see that Adam is the one singing on the track. At the same time for Adam's sake as glamberts I think we should try to talk up the album any publicity is better than none.

Anonymous said...

glitzylady
I find it most annoying, when ever one of Adam's fans dares to have a slightly different opinion you jump in with a very long explanation as if you have a need to force your opinion onto the fans who may see things differently. It would be nice if you could excercise some constraint and show some respect, it's impossible to agree with each other all the time. Freedom of expression and thought should always be allowed and that doesn't mean that we think anything less of Adam, I myself adore him and have been following him for as long as yourself, and I don't appreciate being made to feel as if I am being disloyal to Adam simply because my opinion may not be the same as others. Tolerance can go along way, fans deserve to be able to share their different opinions without being called out by you. The only time I would object is when someone is clearly a trouble maker or has anything to say that may undermine Adam, but a healthy debate never hurts, it's what keeps this site interesting and entertaining to the fans who enjoy coming hear and I believe Adam would agree with this himself, he often enjoys a healthy debate himself.

glitzylady said...

I would appreciate if you would accord me the same right to an opinion re Adam, Adam's music or whatever else is being discussed. Everyone else states theirs here. Usually anonymously. I'm only doing the same. I just happen to have a tag and am not anonymously posting my opinion here as do so many others. I don't force my opinion on anyone here or elsewhere. I may have a different point of view than someone else. What's wrong with that?? I own my opinions. And am frequently singled out for criticism as a result, because I sign my posts. I respect others opinions and the right to have one. I'm sorry you don't think I have a right to one as well. Apparently I don't get to explain myself, my opinions, etc.. Whatever. Have a nice day.

Glitzylady doesn't need me to defend her. But she does bring us new news regularly and most important of all she's upbeat and positive about Adam. And she's bringing it to the right place, an Adam Lambert blog.

Yes everyone here is free to post what they want. The key word is EVERYONE.

Anonymous said...

why can't you posters just post and not be so critical of other's opinions..we all have them..and we are all entitled to them..when a really negative 'hater' comes on board, the best thing to do is ignor them..let's just state 'our' opinions and feelings and let it go at that - and please leave ms. Glitzy alone..she seems to have a wealth of info about Adam..for which I am most appreciative..let's just be kind to one another..the world has too much negativity already..way too much - agreed?

10:56 I had to check out your comment and you are correct. There is a nice mention of Nile and Adam by the iTune editor. Thanks for pointing that out.

glitzylady said...

@Anon 10:34 AM
And I do seriously agree with what you said in your comment. Except maybe your opinion of me :)) But you certainly have the right to say and think what you want about me. Sorry if I come across to you as a person who has no tolerance of others views and is trying to "force" my opinions on others. Everything else you said is absolutely true, including the part about Adam loving a good discussion. He never backs away from what he believes. I admire that about him, even though it occasionally gets him into hot water in some circles. Please consider what you wrote and realize that we are actually on the same page here. Peace.

I know glitzylady is capable of defending herself but i must say that there is a genuine support she has for adam, diff. Links, and articles she has posted here about adam has been so informative.
You really need to read thru some 'certain' ppl posts with their unneccessary long 'bawring' post about themselves, insulting anybody that has a contrary opinion from theirs.....you will appreciate GLITZYLADY better.
Already pre-order lay me down....diff from adam's style (must confess) but variety is spice of life!
So far...enjoying lay me down

Anonymous said...

Thanks 10:56 for the info. I'm glad to hear it. IMO Adam has such a unique voice that has become more and more recognized by both fans and music industry experts alike I felt most listeners would know whose voice that was but it's definitely most official to have credits listed on the CD itself (like the inside insert...remember Adam's Trespassing Insert? He didn't forget a single soul!)

Plenty of other people than just Glitzy bring things here but some of you only recognize it when she does it. There use to be way more people bringing things here before so many were driven away by the trolls and cray bickering, something Admin should take into consideration. I agree with some of the comments that Glitzy does jump in with long comments that come across as telling us we are wrong or missing something. She isn't the only one with valid information or a valid opinion. Maybe it's time to tone down the know it all tone.

Anonymous said...

I think if anything is going to bring Adam to the forefront of the music scene, in my opinion, it will be the Queenbert concert for IHR in Vegas and then his appearances on Glee. Is Lay Me Down radio friendly/ I don't know. As many have commented, it is a song better suited for the dance clubs. If it is released as a single, and brings recognition to Adam for the vocals, all the more power to him. I,too, am waiting for Adam's new music but that may not be until next year so I'll take whatever he does at this time.

Anonymous said...

Queenbert isn't going to bring Adam to the forefront of music either. The Glee role will bring more fans in that important young demographic but I think we are going to have to wait for the next album for something to make him that giant pop star or whatever giant fame everybody here is clamoring for. I'll take whatever Adam wants and enjoy the ride as it is.

glitzylady said...

I would respectfully ask that we take the conversation back to focusing on Adam. Or am I allowed to suggest that? I agree with the comment that there are many others who contribute so many things to this blog and I, like everyone else here, appreciate it so much. Thanks to all who come here to share in our love and admiration and respect for the lovely human being who is Adam Lambert. And my thanks to the administrator of 24/7 for providing this blog/forum for comments and discussion. Again, Peace.

To the posters on this thread writing this and that about Glitzylady, I say shame on you.

She has always been informative, kind, appreciative and upbeat, so often called 'The Voice of Reason', when the craziness gets a bit too much or information is needed... I have a lot of respect for her and her input here, love her posts CAUSE they are loving, clear, informative, optimistic, hopeful, never hurtful or negative... Don't know how she manages to keep her cool with all the craziness here during the last couple of years...

Glitzylady deserves your respect, she's been here from the start and she owns her opinions and posts. Never felt she forces her opinions on anyone. She is a wise, courageous and strong woman (imo).Your whining tells more about your insecurities or whatever, nothing to do with Glitzy! Earn your own place in this fandom, don't try to undermine hers or anyone else's... State your opinions as clearly and as constructively as she does, consider the tone how you say things when you disagree or are being 'realistic/negative' as opposed to optimistic, positive and supportive, as she chooses to be. And use a tag, otherwise you are just another Anon among all the Anons here (myself included). LOL & js

Anonymous said...

SO unnecessary to jump all over Glitylady, she has the best of intentions. Don't read her posts if you're inclined to take affront to them. Her opinions are meant to add to the discussion, not for fans to take as a personal scolding. Besides, writing is fun, and writing about Adam is especially fun. I think she is simply enjoying herself. Nothing wrong with that!

Keep harping on the Adamvicii thing when the song comes out. That will help. Avicii won't mind. he made up the name himself.
