the best ever!

So somebody got that right even though Adam did not win. He set the bar so high during Season 8 that no one since then has shown the amazing vocal talent and mesmerizing stage presence that Adam has. That's one of the reasons I can't seem to get into Idol since then and with the fiasco of Minaj and Carey on the panel, that just turned me off completely. But I became an Adam Lambert fan from the first note he sang during the auditions and have followed his career since then.

12:05 - That last sentence, ain't it the truth? That's exactly what I told someone in Biloxi last weekend. It's like we all just knew. Even then, he knew when his voice should break, when he should stand up for impact, and that he should've just stood still to let it sink in. He could already read our thoughts. That's just raw talent.

FANTASTIC recognition of Adam's performance on Idol ... #1! We knew he was special and over these short years we found out just HOW special Adam is! Can't wait to see what's ahead.

It's a Mad World alright; but, I am so glad Adam is in. I think I replayed that about 100 times after he sang it that night. They made us wait until the end, just to keep us watching the whole show. Then part of it was missed on the DVR because the show ran over. It was a mad me!

That's the night Simon gave his first ever standing Ovation on Idol they said. That song brought tears to a lot of eyes that night; mine included. The rest is history; have been following this dear man every since!

I hate to go to these nice articles and someone starts running down another performer. So silly and pointless. It is a very good list IMO.

This is fantastic and love! Mad World but to me his most stunning idol performance was A Change Is Gonna Come (then WLL)

Adam sang "Mad World" incredibly that night and I knew he was someone very special. And I was amazed Simon gave him his first and only standing ovation. I've been a loyal fan ever since. And I haven't watched A.I. since season 8, Adam set the bar so high that no one can top that.

It's the only performance in American Idol where Simon Cowell gave a standing ovation, therefore it's the best.

So happy that this link led me to other Idol performances by Adam. Love Love listening to them all over again! Thanks

Haven't commented in awhile, still check in almost daily - not like I used to, but I have to say as an idol fan *never missed an episode) no-one will or ever will bring to that show what Adam did. Mad world was simply stunning and nothing has topped that performance since. In fact no contestant will ever top out Adam. Still love him and follow daily, but I feel my obsession lol has taken a turn to the animals in need and I am trying to change laws on animal abuse1 Love my glamberts still, Love Adam of course. Been here since day 1 and always will be

If you've never watched Idol since how can you know nobody topped that performance. So closed minded.

it's memorable but it's not the best of Adam.
I agree w 1:35 that it's A Change Is Gonna Come.
Someone may have topped Adam's performance of Mad World if they say it's No.1, but no one has nor ever will pass the impact of Adam's journey of all his performances from Bohemian Rhapsody to the finale with Kiss and Queen.
NO ONE!!! EVAH!!!

Every song Adam sang on Idol was the BEST as far as I'm concerned;
If I Can't Have You, Ring of Fire,
I Can't Get No Satisfaction, and too many others to name. He is a genius!...............nancdruuu2

Way to limit all aspiring singers by saying no on can ever top Adam. Hope your grandkids dont want to be singers.
