It supposed to be first single with super MV! I can't imagine how many views and noms(awards) this song would get!

Whoa! That might have overtaken Starchild MTN; even without a video! It just earned top spot on my chart. lwl! Hey Adam put this lock-stock-barrel in your third album. And yes you don't need rowdy backing, it works just fine with this kind of acoustic artistic accompaniment. I practically hear you vocal strings trembling, taut! Lovely rendition of Runnin and so meaningful as in everybody is running from something, somebody, somewhere; but not sure what or why. Even fits as an Olympic song; so much angst exactly.

this is incredible!!! Adam's vocals!!!

This is good. But I listened to the recording so gizillion times that I have to say I love the album cut much more.

Doesn't sound acoustic to me. Sounds like a remix.

is this acoustic? I guess I just don't understand these things. What other songs are going to be on the album anyone know? I just googled Pop Goes Live Vol 3 and it doesn't tell you much.

To be honest, after one listen, I still like his Trespassing album version better... But in this one you can really hear the vocals, which is very cool... But at the same time, I think I prefer the fuller sound mix on the original recording on the album, the way that Adam envisioned and presented it.. But either way, it's a FABULOUS song. And one of my absolute favorites of ALL of his album tracks...

And YES!!!! I would absolutely LOVE to hear Adam sing this song live... He has a way of singing his songs with even more feeling and often changes them up so that they are even bigger masterpieces as time goes on.. Someday, I hope he surprises us with Runnin'..

The other song I absolutely cannot get enough of, even now, is MAP: Another one we need to hear sung LIVE... (Please, Adam??!!)...

Maybe some people are afraid of ending their sentences.

A Letter to Adam and QUEEN (Wherever you are, I pray my letter will reach you): Adam, I have hung in there from the very first day I watched you in awe on A I. I admit you can sing ANY song and make it sound good -- even mundane pop "ditties" -- but your true gift to the world is that you will be considered one of the greatest EVER singer of moving and inspiring ANTHEMS and a creator of new and innovative SOUNDS. I am sure that the Grammy committee is just itching for you to hook into some songs and arrangements that deserve your unmatched voice and theatrical gifts... "RUNNIN" (the original version especially) is one of those songs and Brian and Rodger can give it the kind of powerful and innovative presentation that will put it up there with "Bohemian" and "Champions." With this song (and others in the future) you will no longer be "filling in" for Freddie. You will then hold the place you claimed in one of your interviews with Brian and Rodger when you said, "I am a QUEEN and I WILL ALWAYS BE A QUEEN." (You are young and I am sure you will work with many other great musicians in the years to come but, first, please "stop runnin from your heart" and go ahead and bring this song alive with QUEEN.
Thanks, Beverly

To me, Runnin" is a magnificient musical masterpiece. The lyrics are so powerful-and, yes, Lam-my, you hit it right on the head, as in "everybody is running from something, somebody, somewhere, but not sure what or why". Soaked, Runnin' and Underneath are so much a part of about what life is cracked up to be.......Hello, all Glamberts, I am back from my trip to Washington, DC, and this is my first post in nineteen days. I have been so concerned about the health of Dr. Brian May since my return. Any news that someone perhaps has? A belated Happy New Year to all of you and you were very much missed. It appears Adam is doing just fine in my absence. Margarita Lady

Welcome back with open arms...I had been thinking, perhaps you are so happy wherever you were, you don't need this place anymore. lol! Joking only. Happy New Year! to you too. You know, I actually got onto your goodbye thread a bit late and saw your post that you were leaving for the airport and you signed off. I just missed it by some minutes to wish you happy holidays. So glad you have returned safely. I heard about the heavy snowing and cancelled flights.

Re Brian May -- his news pages state that so far no cancer has been found, thank God.

I just listened to RUNNIN again -- for the ?? time. This song is such a gorgeous anthem to the human spirit -- down and out or misguided and yet the person -- all people can pull ourselves up and rise above our past difficulties and face the things we've been runnin from. Beverly

So now we have three links to a pirated copy.

It would be better to listen to the song on the above link to show them the level of interest in Adam. Ripping it and sharing it doesn't help Adam and rips off the person who made it. We wouldn't like it if someone did that to Adam.

Sorry, to be honest, thought this Acoustic Runnin' was posted by the people who remixed.. Now I see it will be for sale on iTunes.. will delete.. :(( Although its out there everywhere already..

glitzylady said...

And by the way thank you for letting me know the link I posted was pirated. I would never want to do anything that might have a negative effect on Adam or take away from the people who did the remix. Guess I'll have to wait to use my newly learned ability to post direct "clickable" links until another day... To articles, you tube links etc.. I can hardly wait until this is available to buy.. Because I'll be doing that....

I also thought the Pop Goes Live was a remix. Still don't understand how it has come about but see lots of other singing stars seem to have live performances of current hits on this platform, I hope this does not keep QUEEN from developing a unique arrangement. Beverly

This song is made as such that it really needs full sound, theatrical element and vocal layering to make it sound good.Nice attempt to minimize electronic accompanion so that we can clearly hear unbeliveable adams vocal range.

Anonymous said...

Why touch & tamper with perfection!

Does this have Adam's approval?! And going to be on iTunes for sale...Sounds like it's a stripped track (from the original 'multilayered' one... sorry don't know the real terms) and even somewhat slower...
Enjoy still Adam's LOW register, but definitely love the original more!

This remix is OK but I prefer the Trespassing version.

WOW . . . what this man can do to my spirit . . .

could be a soundtrack to a movie or TV show

Pirates ! I can't keep up . . . at least someone appreciates our BB

3:53, if you get the right copyright permissions you can make a remix and sell it like this person or company. If you don't and get caught, you'll get sued.

Anonymous said...

So, Adam doesn't make any money off the sale of this posted version. It's the person who madeit or pasted it or .... I' confused. Didn't know you could do that. Love the song, though, and I want the world to hear it!

Anonymous said...

I love this song - my absolute favorite from Trespassing. I also wish Adam would do it live.

Anonymous said...

7:14, the copyright owners/publisher always get paid. I don't know if Adam was a writer on this song though. Would probably also depend on his royalty contract with RCA.

Anonymous said...

Wouldn't the singer get some of the money? There would be no song without vocals. Seems as though they would get a partial fee.

Anonymous said...

I don't much care for this, but I love the TP album version.
Plus, I'm getting a little concerned that my life is bland to the max. Though I get the messages expressed in Soaked, Underneath and Runnin I can't identify with any of them personally. The only Runnin I do is after grand kids.

I keep wishing for the neglected songs on FYE and TP to be added to Adams performances. Pique the interest of those new to Adams music.

Anonymous said...

Adam is listed as one of the writers of this song. I don't know what that means tho. lol

glitzylady said...

@Anon 10:14 AM
It means that he gets **some** of the royalties from the song... The singer generally gets nothing, although since the song is on Adam's album he gets some compensation from resulting sales.. We discussed this topic around the time that Trespassing was released and it is very complicated at best as to who gets what..

If you are interested in learning more about that whole "royalties and who gets what" subject, here's an article that explains in detail...
