The Queen Facebook page is such a joke. Most of the commenters are hating on Adam. It's actually really sad, that's why I never go there.

@ 4:01PM,yep,saw that AWFUL,unfair review( and comments by some ole "not give an inch Freddie fan")on the Queen Facebook page..really hard to ignore,but have to TRY hard,I guess..I think those BAD,mean,hateful comments are just from haters,and I doubt if some of them have even watched the recent You tube,good quality concerts,they just say Freddie w/QUEEN or nobody!"haha,the joke's on them,isn't it?Queen picked Adam;guess they don't care about that either..SO SAD for them,but"Let it Go" as it said in Frozen.I wonder if Adam,Brian,and all the others in the band will go celebrate tonight,if only in a nice hotel Suite..(:..hope we get pix..some said today was Brian's BD,some said yesterday..Oh,well,Adam likes to really party hard on birthday's;Brian,prob not so hard..maybe we'll find out tomorrow.DJR~

Ignore the trolls. The negatives have been around 5 to 8 % on comments sections and reviews. Just make sure you like all of Adam's posts on Queen Facebook page. Let's not give voice to bullies of this world. Spread the love and 'like' ;). xoxo ❤️💋

What's the obsession with the NYT review? Everybody is entitled to an opinion and the NYT guy gets paid to write his opinion. Everybody will NEVER like the same thing. Who cares if he didn't like it. There is no need to prove him wrong. Let it go.

Isn't the concert tonight in CT at one of the casino venues? Maybe Dr. Brian will be lucky for his birthday, throw some coins in the slots and see what comes up.

Extracts I picked from VH1 Music review given at the top...
"He’s undeniably sweet and charming, not to mention hugely talented, but the effect leaves me with a sense of lacking. I want a large-and-in-charge powerhouse of a frontman, delightfully arrogant and full of gravitas. But of course, there would be cries of “How dare he!? Who does he think he is?” if Lambert attempted such shtick. It’s a tricky Catch-22 situation, and he made the very best of it by erring on the side of caution, humility, and sincerity."

"Obviously he is no Freddie Mercury, and that’s OK. The minute you stop looking for Freddie is the minute the fun really starts."

The reviewer does try to be objective but somehow his real feelings show through in the two above extracts. It's well-written giving sufficient information.
"...erring on the side of caution, humility and sincerity..." is I think way off; based on what I know of Adam in my 5 years of following him. Adam was not trying not to err, in my opinion...he just sings the Queen songs the way he feels them not changing them too much as he said it would be "sacrilegious" to do so. But he puts himself into the situations of those Queen songs, inserts his own feelings into them. In fact he studied in depth the backgrounds of these Queen songs before even attempting to sing them. So the part about "erring...cautioning" is not quite what Adam is doing, not what his singing the Queen songs is about! If that in fact was the case, I wont't be able to feel his emotions in the songs such as TSMGO and WWTLF etc...which almost bring me to tears. And most of Freddie's songs are life-related and applicable to Adam in his own way.
Regarding the reviewer's preference for a "large-and-in-charge powerhouse" well, that's subjective, acceptable. To me, Adam is the greater powerhouse with a God-given untouchable range. And Adam gave the reviewer "a sense of lacking"...Now, I'm not sure which concert he attended. lwl!

OT - the play "We Will Rock You" is now playing here in LA. I think Brian and Roger took Adam to see it recently in New York? Correct me if I'm wrong. Well, it was reviewed in the LA Times yesterday and quess which music critic they sent to review the play? Oh no they didnt! Oh yes they did - the same infamous guy that reviewed Queen + Adam at the Forum last week. The title of the review is "Not Queen's Best Friend". Over and out . . . Adamluv

People still ranting and raving about the NY Times reviewer. Need to be able to take the bad with the good and move on.

Lam-my, Adam is erring on the side of humility and caution. He is in a Catch-22. He has to walk that line of being reverent yet being the front man. If he steps over that line he will offend the Queen and Freddie fans. I think he has been doing an amazing job of balancing being the front man and himself without overshadowing the legacy of Queen.

As far as I know, Adam doesn't conform and so "erring on the side of humility and caution" gives me the impression he's holding back, perhaps afraid of a backlash. Adam is always true to himself as an artist and person. As I've said he is singing the Queen songs the way he thinks they should be sung and as Brian said "he's never an imitator." Basically he wants to do Queen songs justice and at the same time inject his own feelings and persona into them naturally; no necessity to "err on the side of humility and caution" nor be afraid to step on the Freddie fans' toes. In any case Adam is naturally humble and respectful so the phrase is not so applicable.

Well isn't it the essence of what I said in both my comments! Adam says: "...honoring the way these songs were originally meant to be sung and my own instincts, my own choices."
But the phrase "erring on the side of humility and caution" suggests compromising / deviating from the true purpose, for fear of offending the Queen/Freddie fans. Please ponder, digest it.
