Boy nothing like critiquing a show and adding negavity before you have even seen it.

Another dickless wonder.

Hope he gets an earful from Dr Bri!

Here we go again with a minor comment, that many believe is true, from some guy in a British magazine and the glambert lynch mob is already out. Calm down.

Anonymous said...

Not everybody is going to love Adam with Queen as much as they loved Freddie with Queen. Why can't some Adam fans accept that and let people have their opinions? Not everybody in the world needs to think one performer is the best one ever. We get Adam as our best. Others get Bruno Mars or Madonna or Freddie or eek, Jusin Bieber.

Anonymous said...

That little article does a lot of insulting why wouldn't some people have THEIR own opinions too?

Anonymous said...

That blurb is hardly insulting.

It's a tiny comment on a big announcement in a magazine most of us haven't heard of. Do you take some brief blurb you read about a holiday special as the absolute and only truth? Or do you make up your own mind?

Some fans look for mountains to make out of molehills.

I'm going to say yay look at the big announcement of the special!

Ok, ok, I'm keeping my cool. But I still think that the write-up was unnecessarily snotty. JMO

Anonymous said...

No, that was a sarcastic comment, for sure. I thinking he has never seen them perform, but it was definitely rude.

Anonymous said...

Snotty, sarcastic, and rude.

Well, we all know the truth and once others hear Queen and Adam, they will know the truth about their greatness.

glitzylady said...

So, I'll take the "high road", I'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt and saying he has no clue what he's talking about :))) And one word: More research Liam!!!

I don't really think it's about who someone prefers so much as he may never have seen and heard Queen + Adam Lambert perform Live...

And for those who think the Glamberts are bad (ie the "lynch mob" statement above..), Dr. Bri is the biggest Glambert of all, along with Roger Taylor, and we know Brian May has had a few choice words to say about those who diss Adam, and/or the new configuration of Queen..

But whatever..................

I do have to say they are up against some pretty stiff competition on the other channel... I've seen a couple of them live and they're fine (Ellie Goulding, Joss Stone)..

But I'm guessing there will be plenty of Queen fans tuning in to see and hear the iconic legendary music of Queen, and the "new guy".....

Just sounds like there's something for everyone on TV on New Year's Eve in the UK...

glitzylady said...

Ooops, I guess "More research Liam" was three words... with the emphasis on "research"....

:)))

Unknown said...

Before giving it three stars instead of four, Liam could have watched a few Queen/Adam YouTube videos. Then if he had written something snarky he would have been giving his personal opinion. He is an entertainment writer for a paper. Uncool that he is throwing shade on an act he has no knowledge of and trying to dissuade folks from tuning in. Shithead... that's one word for you, glitzylady!

But, none of this will make any difference in Adam's WoRlD DOmiNatIoN!!
Hahahahah ... my evil laugh.

I think it's pretty evident that he has not seen Adam perform with Queen. Hope he gets to see them. I think his tone will change. :)

Totally agree, Dee R Gee. Experience has changed many a heart. Hopefully he Will get to see them.

Just thought I'd help you out, glitzylady. I know you don't use language like that! haha.

I'm fairly sure that anyone who reads this article isn't going to take it as 'Gospel' especially since Queen & ADAM have already been introduced to the UK viewers through the TV & newspaper media ... interviews, X FACTOR, etc. And I am quite sure that QUEEN is far more prominent & popular than Ellie Goulding? and Joss Stone? both of whom can't even shine QUEEN's boots nor ADAM's neither for that matter!! Hope that guy likes the taste of CROW!! He'll be sitting at the table with a lot of other naysayers with egg on their faces!! LOL

@Lambert Outlaw
Yes, Queen (and Adam Lambert...) are definitely the best ever! But the names listed on the other program are just more "current" so will perhaps attract a younger audience, at least perhaps those who aren't out partying on New Years Eve!!

Adam, and Adam and Queen win hands down over Joss Stone and Ellie Goulding... and I've heard them all sing live in concert...

Hoping our friend Liam will buy himself a Queen + Adam Lambert NYE concert ticket so he can experience the best of the best!!! He owes that to himself... :)))

Gabi said...

I consider "tad random" in connection with Queen quite an insult. However, on the big scheme of things this article is probably fairly insignificant.

JAK said...

Liam Wright is oh so wrong!

Anonymous said...

Saying Liam hasn't been to a QAL concert is mere speculation. He may well have attended a previous Queen plus Adam concert in the UK & felt it wasn't his cup of tea without Freddie. NOT EVERYONE is a QAL fan.

glitzylady said...

@Anon 10:32 PM
Very true...but we speculate here sometimes :))

It was more the tone of his comments re Queen + Adam Lambert... "the choice being a tad random" and his opinion that last year's choice "all made sense"... with the strong implication that this one doesn't...

Either way, he has a right to his opinion, since he wrote the little blurb and all.. but WE know they're a GREAT choice.. He didn't seem so sure...

And hence my suggestion that he experience them in person.. Assuming that he hasn't already done so... He just might change his mind, and if he's already seen them live, then it's his call. I personally got the impression that he hasn't see them with Adam yet.. But I could very well be wrong.. Wouldn't be the first time!!! :))

Bottom line is, we don't have to agree with him :)))

Anonymous said...

10:32 PM, I was so about to write the same thing. Thank you for being a reasonable person! All these people here are jumping to the conclusion that the author jumped to a conclusion because he couldn't have seen Q+AL and think like that. Absolutely no self awareness here.

I can't believe this tiny "insult" gets people so upset.

We all don't have to like the same performer!!

My best friend adores Ed Sheeran and thinks he is as good as I think Adam is. We take turns sending each other pics and vids and saying OMG, look at how amazing he is!! Neither one of us puts the other down for not agreeing or not thinking the same way.

Anonymous said...

LOL, Bri has had comebacks for people directly tweeting him mean things but he has never responded to a brief opinion in a tiny write up on what's on TV.

"a tad random" isn't even an insult.

It's amazing the minor things that get some people's panties in a wad. I predict WW 3 if somebody insults Adam's choice of shoes for the concert.

Anonymous said...

Lambert Outlaw,
From this comment, "And I am quite sure that QUEEN is far more prominent & popular than Ellie Goulding? and Joss Stone?," I am thinking you don't know much about either performer. I don't know much about Joss (other than she is British) but I do know that Ellie is quite popular in the UK.

Ellie is English. She has had multiple nominations for and won many British music awards (and a few US awards too.) Her albums and singles have been number ones and twos on British charts. Ellie performed at Prince William's and Kate's wedding. These are just a few quick examples. Bottom line, Ellie is huge in the UK.

I do not understand this need to put down other artists in an attempt to make Adam look better. Adam and Queen stand on their own merits. There is no need to put others down or question their popularity. It just makes Adam's fans look petty and I wouldn't want that reflecting back on Adam. Adam never speaks poorly of other artists, why do some of Adam's fans feel the need to do that.

glitzylady said...

I do want to clarify a couple of my comments..Just because...

In complete fairness to Ellie Goulding and Joss Stone, whom I mentioned in my comments above, I think they're great performers... I've seen them both in the past couple of years, when they've toured in the US. Joss headlined her own fairly intimate (sized) show, and Ellie Goulding opened the fabulous Bruno Mars arena show here in Seattle last year.. Both are talented... As are all of the rest of the performers mentioned..

When I said Queen and Adam Lambert "win hands down over" other performers, I was referring to my own personal preference (which I should have mentioned..sorry).., and was not putting anyone down. And I didn't mean to imply that any of the other performers listed in the other show on at the same time as the QAL show, are inferior. They will probably just draw a different crowd..as I also mentioned above.

It's true that not everyone is interested in seeing Queen.. Different tastes in music.. Something for everyone.. Thankfully we have a choice.. Given the choice of one show over the other, I'd chose QAL.. because they're my favorites :))) , but the other show will undoubtedly be good too.. I'd go to it given the right opportunity...at a different time and date...

Shosh asked that we don't grumble about things on *public media* blogs and websites, but she also said that fan blogs ...ie Adam Lambert fan blogs in this particular case... are the place to discuss various "opinions", which we are doing here..

Oh, and I also have to mention that I REALLY hate that phrase "panties in a wad"... Really. Truly. :))) I stop listening when that gets tossed out into a conversation..

thank you for remaining calm and reasonable and pointing out we all don't have to like the same thing nor insult others. Well done. Thanks for reminding me I am not alone in this fandom. <3

There are Glamberts who are super sensitive Sallies who ASSUME OFTEN.

3:24 yup that's me, so what.

3:22 you practicing for a movie role or something, dayum you're good.

Anonymous said...

It was a quick blurb in a British entertainment magazine. How did it warrant this reaction?

For those always defending Shosh's sense of humor, maybe this was written in the same style.

Regardless, I hardly see anyone taking this little blurb seriously. OK, except for overly defensive, and apparently paranoid, glamberts. Good thing it isn't on line with a comment section.

4:01 AM, speaking of rude and snotty....

I find it totally HILARIOUS and MINDBOGGLING how many commenters (or a few same ones?) there are on this ADAM LAMBERT FAN SITE always repeating the same meme "we all don't have to like the same thing or insult others"... and they appear immediately someone DARES to root for Adam over someone else (in this thread/case over an unknown writer/journalist, lol) or worry about what fans of others think...

*** If I say that imo Adam is better than someone else (voicewise, performancewise or otherwise specified) that is my opinion as an avid Adam fan, not me tearing down anyone else

*** If by the same "thing" you are referring to Adam and/or QAL, meaning you don't like them, don't understand why you come to a fan site of Adam's - to me a prerequisite to come to an artist's fan site is that you at least like & appreciate the person/persons in question, unless you're a troll or just out to cause mayhem (who has time and energy to visit fan sites of performers they don't like?)

*** if you are more interested in some other performers (than Adam) go flail on their fan site - and at least let fans loving Adam however much, say it out loud here, THIS is not just a general music blog or online music magazine etc

*** opinions about what Adam does, says, wears, how he looks vary and that's perfectly normal, but these opinions should be stated in a civil manner and they are just that, opinions!

@3:22 and your pals = mentioned timeslots in your post!
Maybe you don't realize it, but you are 'insulting others' by stating you and your 'pals' are the ones remaining calm and reasonable, i.e. saying others aren't.... uplifting yourselves, tearing others down, eh?!?

Lol bigtime, yet perfectly calm & reasonable.

PS. Will express my appreciation and love for Adam on his fan site any way I can also in future! :)

Anonymous said...

So that is what the high road looks like. I didn't recognize it.

Anonymous said...

5:11 AM, you seem to be missing the point. Nobody here said they like anybody more than Adam so there is no other fan site to send them to.

Expressing your appreciation and love for Adam doesn't mean you need to call a magazine writer names and assume he never saw a show. He get an opinion too and you don't need to agree with it however the level of vitriol this elicited is out of balance.

You can say Adam is your favorite and you think he is the best without saying another artist isn't fit to shine Adam's boots.

Adam's fans constantly praise how nice Adam is but they have a lot of trouble exhibiting some of that same behavior.

Molly R. said...

Wow, such a drama caused by basically nothing.

So this guy is not overexcited about the NYE concert.

I understand that we as Adam fans are not happy about the comments but getting upset like he committed a crime?
What will be the reactions if some European journalists do not like the concerts?

Anonymous said...

Excellent point Molly.

@Molly R
Sadly, abuse will be heaped on them from a great height.

@5:11 AM

Loved your enlightened post. It makes so much sense. Thank you for your voice of sanity as a true Adam fan! Love it, someone not afraid to tell it like it is as a true Adam fan.

As far as someone shining Adam's boots as stated by another poster; I hope they do not mess with his silver studded boots; would totally mess our man's boots up; hands off those boots!

The in question, bloke did commit a crime, I don't think he ever saw Adam and Queen in person; or on the TELE!

Love the enthusiasm of Adam's beautiful devoted fans; that is what we are here for, to love, defend and tell the truth about the Glam one; those that don't like; "dare I say", quoting the incomparable Brian May, "don't come"!

Love a good rigorous discussion; without a lot of insults, such as this one! Carry on!! "Dare I say".

Hey, Molly R, what's up? We will just have to agree to disagree.
It was not that the guy was not over excited; he went out of his way to be insulting towards Queen and Adam. A bit childish don't you think?

If he has a right to express himself, then Adam's fans have a right to express themselves right here on his blog fan site; that is what it is here for.

All grown people here, they can express their agreements or disagreements anyway they wish. Pretty sick of the Adam fan police. Love everyone's opinions, makes this blog site very interesting!

Have a great day!

Anonymous said...

Unbelievable.

Hang in there Molly and 3:22 AM and all those with similar thoughts.

Only 100% positive reviews will be tolerated here. All others will be derided as they hold no value. It's not our fault if they are too stupid to see how much greater Adam is. If there is a comment section at the article I will proudly tell them there how wrong they are. Bring it on European Tour! Go Adam!

yada said...

How about we stop putting the focus on other commenters here, stop addressing/correcting their posts & behaviors (leave that up to the admins here)....

And simply focus on Adam??

Keep things positive. Give each other slack.

Live and let live.

:))

Anonymous said...

There's no way the reviewer has seen a QAL concert or watched them on YouTube. He's probably just thinking that it might be foolish for any other singer to try to pull off frontman duties in Freddie's place. On paper, a person wouldn't know how talented a singer Adam is, that Brian and Roger are still able to play at such a top-notch level, and that they include special effects to put on a helluva good show!

Good multifaceted discussions re the issue at hand and comments re all things Adam, isn't that the purpose of comment sections... And also a bit of venting as someone here wiaely said some time ago... Unfortunately there are also those in the net who seem to be on constant venting mode... let alone those who wait for every opportunity to switch on the snarky or the attack mode so common in blogosphere...

At the end of the day one GORGEOUS pic of Adam, one vid with his immaculate vocals and this uniquely handsome sexy sensual man singing and performing like no other... more than enough to get me through the night and make me come back for more the next day... :)))

Anonymous said...

Rosie Posie, it is entirely possible for somebody to have seen QAL and still think Queen with Freddie was better. Different strokes for different folks. There is nothing wrong with people not loving Adam as much as we do.
