Adam Lambert 2014 album release date is very soon! Lambert enlists Swedish Producers and Songwriters to create a Magnificent Third Album
Adam Lambert sure is a busy bee this year! Despite touring with legendary rock band, Queen, he is getting his hands full with a new album coming out soon! Yes, you heard that right Adam Lambert fans, his new album is ready for release soon!
Lambert is now finished touring with half of Queen's original members, guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Having been chosen by May and Taylor as the band's singer is  the most "awesome" moment of his life. That's a huge responsibility as Queen fans would be expecting him to sort of "replicate" Freddie Mercury.  We all know that the legendary Mercury was no doubt the greatest showman on earth. Whew! Talk about bigger shoes to fill in.

Adam Lambert, Suze Orman and Wanda Sykes were among the out celebrities who on Thursday reacted to the passing of comedian Joan Rivers.
Rivers, a strong supporter of gay rights, was 81.
“It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother,” Melissa Rivers said in a statement. “She passed peacefully at 1:17pm surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother.”

Watch What Happens host Andy Cohen said it was amazing that everyone is shocked at the news of her passing at 81. “That's how relevant a life force she remained.”
“When I met Joan Rivers I told her I loved her show,” Jesse Tyler Ferguson messaged. “She said: 'Which one? I have THREE!' Her energy, wit, stamina & heart are an inspiration.”

We’re not sure if it’s just us but the entire Queen and Adam Lambert tour has just flown in, we can’t quite believe that all the dates have now been and gone.

While it’s bad news for fans who loved seeing them live in action, it’s great news for Adam Lambert as he’s now got time to get back into the studio and work on his album.

Unsurprisingly that’s exactly what he’s done. He’s confirmed to his fans across the world that he’s resumed work on his third release.

Prior to the tour we had been reported bits and pieces regarding the album but as expected Adam is keeping a lot of things under wraps.

We have heard a few people mention the record though who have praised it a lot but fans just want the album blaring through their headphones so hopefully the wait isn’t that long.

Adam Lambert is finished touring with rock legends Queen, and he’s now ready to play the game. The “American Idol” singer alerted Glamberts on Twitter on Thursday (September 4) that he’s completing his third album, the follow-up to 2012′s Trespassing.

Lambert’s been touring with Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor since June, but had already begun work on his as-yet-untitled album before that. The singer enlisted the help of Swedish songwriter Max Martin, who wrote two songs on Lambert’s 2009 debut solo album.

Adam Lambert geared up to complete solo album!!!

Filed Under () by Adam Lambert on

Posted at : Thursday, September 04, 2014

Last night Adam Lambert wrapped up his world tour with legendary rock band Queen and has returned home to finish working on his third solo album. He shared his excitement with fans this morning, tweeting, “I'm thrilled to get back home and complete my upcoming third solo album. #3rdtimesaCharm ;)”
The news is bittersweet for many fans. Some wish the tour would continue, especially those throughout Europe and other areas where Queen did not perform. Others are thrilled he will be devoting more time to his album, ready for some new solo music. It has been more than two years since his sophomore album “Trespassing” was released and everyone is eager to hear more of his music.
Very little is publicly known about the direction of the third album. Adam has been coy when asked the genre, saying recently, “I don't believe in genre. It's passé.” While his first two albums were pop music, it seems logical that touring with Queen may influence the new music to have some rock edge. However, Adam has always been full of surprises, so it is really impossible to guess what he has up his sleeve. What is known is that he worked on it for a few months in Sweden with producer Max Martin, who produced pop hits for Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, among others. The pair has collaborated in the past, with Martin co-writing and producing Adam’s Grammy nominated hit “Whataya Want From Me.”

3news.co.nz/Review: Queen + Adam Lambert

Filed Under () by Adam Lambert on

Posted at : Wednesday, September 03, 2014

When most people think of Queen, they think of Freddie Mercury. But now that Freddie's not around and the band are touring with Adam Lambert, are they still worth a ticket? You bet they are.
Last night, Queen – plus Lambert – played the first of their two New Zealand shows to a packed Vector Arena in Auckland.
Lambert was no Freddie, and he didn't try to be. He sang the band's songs in his own style, whilst staying true to the original melodies.
His fierce and theatrical attitude, impressive vocal range and superb glam rock voice proved he was an appropriate artist for the band to work with – it amazes me how someone who had their career take-off after American Idol can end up fronting Queen.
But the concert wasn't just about Lambert. Original Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor were there too, and still as talented as ever.
May got his chance to shine with a lengthy guitar solo, as well as performing 'Love of My Life' accompanied by video footage of Freddie. It was a chilling moment.
Taylor showed the crowd his drumming skills are still intact. He even gave his vocal chords a solo workout with 'A Kind of Magic', and then 'Under Pressure' with Lambert.

Live review: Queen + Adam Lambert, Vector Arena!

Filed Under () by Adam Lambert on

Posted at : Wednesday, September 03, 2014

Even in their heyday, Queen was a band with a grand sense of the ridiculous.
No gesture was too extravagant, no genre was left unmolested.
They might have started out as an early 70s hard rock band. But they somehow became a pop perennial, like Abba or the BeeGees, with hits just as enduring too.
And when frontman Freddie Mercury passed away, Queen endured.
Sure, affection for those hits kept them there, as did the likes of stage musical We Will Rock You and a thousand Idol show covers of Somebody to Love.
So seeing what's left of Queen - original members guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor but not long-retired bass player John Deacon - bringing in American Idol's biggest breakout talent Adam Lambert as frontman was always going to take some getting used to.
Lambert proved he had plenty stage presence along with a winning personality and very busy costume department.
But vocally, it sounded as if his strengths are up top.
Still, his takes on many of the songs did - as they say in Idol land - make them his own. That's whether it was his Michael Jackson-like tilt at Another One Bites the Dust or his Elvis lip-curl on the rockabilly of Crazy Little Thing Called Love near the end.
And the more theatrical numbers and challenging melodies like Killer Queen, which had him propped upon a purple chaise longue at the end of the stage runway, proved his forte more than the straight rockers.
Yes, there were inevitable moments when Mercury held sway over proceedings with posthumous duets delivered via video screen footage.

Legendary rock band Queen is hitting the stage tonight with Adam Lambert fronting the late Freddie Mercury.
The show will kick off shortly at Auckland's Vector Arena, with another show the same time tomorrow night.
Earlier this year Adam Lambert told fans that he would be staying true to himself throughout the tour.
Speaking to The Advocate Adam said "I'm Adam onstage. I'm not playing Freddie."
Adam was also keen to recognise the late Freddie Mercury.
"His recordings and his performances were so incredible that I can't help but be inspired by them."

"Queen Extravaganza" [Queen Tribute Band] Lead Singer Marc Martel Says Adam Lambert Is "..The Current Best Male Singer In the World.."

Filed Under () by glitzylady on

Posted at : Wednesday, September 03, 2014

From an interview in USA Today, singer Marc Martel, lead singer in The Queen Extravaganza, the Queen tribute band put together by Queen's Roger Taylor:

Marc says this about current Queen front man Adam Lambert:

**Adam Lambert in Auckland, NZ with Queen

Excerpts from the article/interview:

"Martel's gig with the Queen Extravaganza led to high-profile performances on shows like Ellen and American Idol. When Queen announced several shows and then a tour with former Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, he watched with bemusement as Internet skirmishes flared between fans of the two singers over which was the better interpreter of Mercury's songs."

""In my opinion, Queen has the current best male singer in the world singing for them," Martel says of Lambert. "I went to see their show in New York, and the dude does not strain or miss a single note. He's an incredible virtuoso."

""When people get so emotional and defensive — and offensive — about this whole thing, the first gut reaction to is to get defensive yourself, but it's just rock and roll. It's fun. I enjoy it.""

Revisiting "SarinMods-Talking Heads" 2012 EXCELLENT Interview with Adam Lambert.. Intro and Sound Cloud

Filed Under () by glitzylady on Tuesday, September 2, 2014

Posted at : Tuesday, September 02, 2014

This interview with Adam Lambert was originally posted as a "Talking Heads New Zealand", by interviewer, Sarin Moddle.. and is posted on her blog, "SarinMods". It re-emerged a few days ago just in time for the New Zealand Queen + Adam Lambert concerts, and for many of us fans, it's new..

It's an amazing,  intimate, honest, free-flowing interview...

***Picture of Adam Lambert from 2012 Photoshoot "Stuff" New Zealand  (previously posted here on 24/7 on 10-12-12)

A few EXCERPTS from the blog introduction to the interview, and Sarin's thoughts as she looks back on meeting Adam, and the interview...

***Be sure to read the REST of the blog... perhaps BEFORE you listen to the interview on the SoundCloud below...

EXCERPTS OF THE BLOG INTRO: (not the interview itself..listen to the interview below in the SoundCloud player)... Pure Adam Lambert, then and now...

"When Sam Wicks called me one afternoon and said “I have a question for you…”, nowhere in my realm of reality did I expect the rest of the sentence to be “Would you be interested in doing a Talking Heads with Adam Lambert?” I informed Sam that was quite possibly the dumbest question I’d ever heard, because of COURSE I wanted to interview the man who was, at the time, my core aesthetic influence. I loved literally everything about him."

"As I recall, Sam wanted to focus on Adam’s place in the pop culture margins and his identity as being a bit of an outlier. That vision turned out to be exactly what we needed."

"Standing in the hallway outside the hotel room they’d hired to do press, Sam said, “You’d never get to do this in Canada. This is why you’re in New Zealand.” We went in, I introduced myself, and we took some still photos for the Herald before we were mic’ed up. He asked to switch sides with me on the couch for the photos (“I know my angles” – impressive). From the second we shook hands, we didn’t stop talking… which is why about 20 seconds into the audio, I ask if we’re recording. There was no “start” to our interview – whatever we’d been talking about (something about a Russian photographer refusing to shoot Adam from above because that would make him “look like weak man”) just kept rolling and totally flowed into where Sam and I had wanted the interview to go."

"When I listen back to this audio, it’s with a mixture of disbelief and regret. Always regret, because no interview is perfect. Because there’s always a bit more clarity to the story arc in retrospect, because you could have made different choices in the moment, because it’s counterintuitive to engage someone in meaningful dialogue without validating them with small murmurs. But I would be remiss if not to say that Adam Lambert is – my own exceeding fandom aside – one of the most kind and welcoming individuals to grace the receiving end of an interviewer’s microphone."

Queen And Adam Lambert Tour: Legendary Band Brings “Pure Sensation” To Australian Crowd! Lady Gaga Passes Through To 'Bite The Dust!'

Filed Under () by Adam Lambert on

Posted at : Tuesday, September 02, 2014

The Queen and Adam Lambert tour just finished its Brisbane Entertainment Centre concert and they left the audience in absolute awe.
The Sunday Morning Herald's review calls the legendary performance a "reunion, tribute and baton-passing" rock and roll show with Queen and Lambert delivering "just over two hours of pure sensation straight into the nerves and bones of anyone fortunate enough to witness it."
The review notes that there was still some reluctance from fans when the group's new frontman first appeared on stage. Lambert's "brash delivery and flamboyant stage persona," however, won the crowd over.
By the time the Grammy nominated singer belted out his own cheeky version of 'Killer Queen'-complete with a chaise lounge and a fan-he had already made the crowd "eat out of his hand."
The 'For Your Entertainment' singer further solidified the crowd's approval by thanking them "for suspending their disbelief to let him sing the music, and paying tribute to the late, great Freddie Mercury."
The review continued, "It cements the audience's approval: this man is not trying to be Freddie. He loves him as much as we do, he just sings better than we do at 2am karaoke."
Brian May, on the other hand, didn't just sit back and let their "new man" take centerstage the whole time. He also stepped up and showed off his legendary guitar skills.
He even used a monopod to take a video of the crowd after singing a highly emotional rendition of "Love Of My Life" dedicated to Mercury.
Drummer Roger Taylor had his moment as well. He impressed the audience with his version of "A Kind Of Magic" and had a duet with his son, Rufus Tiger Taylor, reportedly prompting one concert-goer to shout "You've still got it, old man!"
The SMH review continued to praise the group's synergy, writing as conclusion, "It's rare to find a band that everyone likes, with such a musically strong and well-known repertoire."

Dailyexaminer Au: Queen rock you with tribute to Freddie Mercury!

Filed Under () by Adam Lambert on

Posted at : Tuesday, September 02, 2014

THE shaggy mop of hair has turned from black to grey, the audience has aged a little too and lighters in the air have been replaced with iPhone screens.
A lot has changed, but one thing has never faltered- Queen still rock.
From women reliving their teenage years, to hardened rockers from way-back and even some children, the sold-out crowd at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Monday night, knew they were part of something special.
A once in a lifetime opportunity to witness a real rock 'n' roll show with the legends that are Queen…..well, most of them.
Adam Lambert, an American Idol runner up who has achieved two top 10 singles in Australia, largely stuck to the script stepping-in as front man for the band.
He is of course one of a long list of lead vocalists joining drummer Roger Taylor and guitarist Brian May since 1991 when the great Freddie Mercury passed away.
The moustached wonder was the best front man of all time, a pure talent who left behind extraordinarily large glittery platform shoes to fill.
The audience was a little reluctant at first to accept "the new guy". Would this just be a karaoke session with backing band?
Definitely not.
Like our own INXS, iconic English stadium rock band Queen spent many fruitless years trying desperately to find a lead singer with half the charisma of a tragically-departed icon.
Bass player John Deacon would have no part in a "Freddie replacement", retiring from the music industry in the 1990s and shunning the limelight ever since.
But May and Taylor's approach is one of proud ownership of the work created with and alongside Mercury.
A phenomenal performer in his own right, Lambert rose to the challenge to deliver an unforgettable Queen show.
The curtain concealing the stage began to shake as band members cheekily prodded the sheet to tease the awaiting crowd.
The cover came off and the house exploded with a hearty welcome for the band some people had waited 30 years to see on Australian soil again.
From the first song, Now I'm Here, The crowd went crazy for Queen and it was here we saw our first of many guitar solos from Brian May.
Unsure hand clapping turned into fist pumping, cheering and yells as Lambert proved his worth within the first two songs.

Good review about the show: QAL rock the Brisbane Entertainment Centre!

Filed Under () by Adam Lambert on

Posted at : Tuesday, September 02, 2014

Hours after Queen and Adam Lambert lifted the roof off the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, it will be difficult for many in the crowd to provide more than a breathless: "That was amazing. I can't believe I was there. That was amazing."
With a rock 'n' roll show combining reunion, tribute and baton-passing facets, Queen and Adam Lambert delivered just over two hours of pure sensation straight into the nerves and bones of anyone fortunate enough to witness it.
Lambert, of course, is the ring-in, the latest in a series of singers who have appeared with Brian May and Roger Taylor in the years since November 24, 1991.

That date is etched on the heart of every Queen fan, for it marked the day the world lost Freddie Mercury.
His spectre hung heavy in the air as the audience readied itself on Monday night. Would Lambert be just a pale imitation? Was it even right for the others to perform without Freddie?
Bass player John Deacon certainly took that tack, retiring from the music industry in the 1990s and shunning the limelight ever since. But May and Taylor's approach is one of proud ownership of the work created with and alongside Mercury, tempered with a deep fondness and respect for their lost friend. Lambert, it therefore had to be assumed, must have something.

The band was heartily welcomed to stage, but there was a sense of audience reticence about Lambert during the first two numbers, Now I'm Here and Stone Cold Crazy. It takes the familiar funky lick of Another One Bites the Dust to truly relax fans, and by Fat Bottomed Girls, Lambert's brash delivery and flamboyant stage persona (complete with studded leathers and sky high quiff) have brought the audience onside.
Meanwhile May has begun an evening's worth of solos as awe-inspiring as that shock of ringlets that encircle his head like a curly halo. The solos serve the twin purposes of allowing Lambert, Taylor and/or their supporting musicians a brief respite and reminding you that May is the best damn guitarist in the entire damn universe. He doesn't so much play the instrument as conjure notes from it, notes that gratefully explode in a perfect cascade of sound.
The simple but effective set design features an oval-shaped rig with a runway on its left-hand side, beautifully creating the letter "Q". Lambert returns in a gold-fringed jacket and sparkly platform shoes to explore the runway to the esoteric Seven Seas of Rhye, before finding himself on a chaise with a fan and a cheeky version of Killer Queen.

BRISBANE REVIEW: Brisbane Times: Queen rock the Brisbane Entertainment Centre

Time for the review from Brisbane's main newspaper, Brisbane Times.  Excellent piece by writer Natalie Bochenski!

"...Queen and Adam Lambert delivered just over two hours of pure sensation straight into the nerves and bones of anyone fortunate enough to witness it."

"When May asks the crowd "What do you think of the new man?", the applause is deafening. Lambert has won them over..."

"It's...rare to find a talent like Lambert, able to channel his vocal power into a respectful but not slavish interpretation of Mercury's works. Freddie may be gone, but he would surely approve."

MELBOURNE REVIEW: Take 40 Australia's "Epic Take"

Filed Under () by broddybounce on

The website for "the nation's first and longest running music countdown," Take 40 Australia, yesterday posted its own "take" on the first of the Melbourne concerts very nice!
"How do you know when you’ve just witnessed an epic (yes, EPIC) gig?"
"Lambert was note-perfect for the entire show, his dazzling performance was awash with glitter and flamboyance, giving a fine example of why having the right person stepping-in to add a missing piece to a world-class band, isn’t such a bad idea."

Back on August 24th, Noise11's critic Paul Cashmere wrote a wonderful little preview of Q+AL's tour of Australia right at the start in Perth.  Well, he's finally written an actual review of the August 30th performance in Melbourne.
"Thanks to Brian May and Roger Taylor we are hearing these songs live again. Thanks to Adam Lambert they are carrying it off with credibility and dignity."

Byroncooke: A few words on last nights QAL show in Melbourne!!

All of my American friends on twitter told me what to expect tonight. I was smashed with messages over the past few weeks (including a recent warning that I would “roll over and die from awesome”)
I read the amazing reviews & watched the Youtube videos posted by fans. I was even fortunate enough to chat with Adam Lambert about the Queen tour before it landed in Australia.
On the subject of fronting one of the worlds most legendary rock bands and standing in the place of arguably the greatest frontman of all time, Adam’s attitude was absolutely on the money.
“It’s never going to be the same without Freddie. Freddie Mercury is a one of a kind icon and a once in a lifetime voice. He’s one of my heroes and I think he was absolutely brilliant. I don’t go on stage thinking I’m gonna compete with that. I just get up there to try to pay my respects to Freddie as a vocalist”
Those words I heard down the line in our interview came to life tonight in Melbourne. Adam nailed it. A perfect balance of respect …and downright swagger. Blistering vocals. Engaging stage presence. And yet balancing that out with a sense of appropriateness and occasion that was …well quite frankly – rather British.
Adam gave the legendary Brian May and Roger Taylor several intimate moments. He spent considerable time off stage completely as video images of Freddie tastefully emerged throughout the incredible show.
