Talking about throwback...I watched the Youtube Sing NYE videos/The Float and 'What Do You Want From Me'...sort of gave me a lot more meaning and impact which I did not get until this time. WWFM never actually appealed to me but at The Float, it pulled a little heart-string; it was so pertinent in the context of those petitions against him and equally loud, if not louder, those for him to sing on NYE. The audience, like me, felt it and applauded even before the song ended.
As for theatre effect, the Adam and ZhangWei version (in above video) is still my favourite.
