Movie News Guide: 'American Idol' Alum Adam Lambert Talks Kesha, Laverne Cox

“American Idol” alum Adam Lambert recently talked about Kesha and “Orange is the New Black” star Laverne Cox. The singer is set to star in the “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” reboot with the latter.
In an interview with Idolator, Lambert said that for quite a long time, he had not talked to his friend Kesha, who recently made headlines because of her legal battle with record producer Dr. Luke. Instead, the singer mentioned that he and the “Tik Tok” singer were at various promotional events together when they were both signed to RCA Records several years ago.
According to Lambert, he was originally offered to play the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, which is played by Cox. The singer said he was really flattered and he thought it could be quite fun, but his schedule did not allow it.
For Lambert, casting Cox was brilliant and appropriate. The “American Idol” Season 8 runner-up said he is a big fan of the original movie, which was released in 1975.
