Yea AI Finale was an excellent finale all right; it was a kind of travelling back in time for me. Good ole Clay Aiken who was instrumental in hooking me to Idol, sang, you know what, my all-time favourite song ~John Denver's Annie's Song.
You fill up my senses like a night in the forest,
like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain,
like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean.
You fill up my senses, come fill me again.
He too should have won; beautiful vibrato.
Jennifer Hudson has honed her vocals to super optimum.
So many other top-notch singers/AI alumni; I recall all of them. William Hung should have been given more time to sing: She bangs She bangs, that ubiquitous hand-jerk left and right. I remember that rather vividly; it was strange the first time but I kind of wished he had sung the whole song last night. lwl! So refreshing.
Alas, Adam was not there to grace this nostalgia; why can't they at least show him singing ~ A Change Is Going To Come...on screen; that would be so touching and befitting. Adam is always the Star of AI no matter how you flip it, turn it, twist it or leave him out.
When Clay Aiken started to sing I CHANGED the channel & never went back!! He is the one who 'dissed' ADAM when ADAM sang 'Ring of Fire' on Idol ... said ADAM made his (Clay's) ears bleed!! From that time on I never listened to any song by Clay Aiken!! Sorry ... but that's how I feel!!

Tess... Yes I can understand how you feel, those indeed were harsh words; but he redeemed himself, he apologised. He too was dealt an unfair blow just like Adam. He's a very good singer with depth, control, emotion in his singing/vibrato. I still think he should have won S2.
In my opinion Clay Aiken was just jealous of Adam that's all he!he!. I threw his cd after what he did to Adam!:). Clay Aiken will never be in Adam's league!:)
I read his "apologies" and they were still rude. I have no idea how he does that. That's some talent XD But I noticed he's often like that. He argues with EVERYONE. I just hate his attitude but I appreciate his voice :)
