***Updated with Adam's message to Kaldyn***

Adam Lambert is well known for his kindness & generosity.  This week he heard about a young fan who is very ill. The family had been trying to reach Adam for months but to no avail. They were saddened when neither Adam nor his management had responded.

The little fan, Kaldyn, loves Adam's music and finds comfort in it.

Kaldyn

A family member/friend of the little boy, Kaldyn & his mom, Kristin, posted a comment on Facebook  & Twitter, expressing the hope that Adam might somehow hear about Kaldyn, as it seemed it was not going to happen in time.  It turned out that Adam had not been advised of the severity of the young fan's illness and in fact, sadly, had not heard about the little boy at all.

Fortunately, some of Adam's fans on Facebook & Twitter saw the desperate post to Adam, then contacted Shoshanna Stone (Adam's publicist) directly, via Twitter. Ms. Stone immediately requested contact information via fans and the rest is history..

Adam has now contacted the little boy & his family personally.. Read the thank you to Adam below, posted on Facebook today. We only know of Adam's kindness because of the thank you posted publicly, and this audio message from Adam that has been posted on Kaldyn's Facebook page by those who maintain the page.

"....I hope you find comfort in knowing that your music was there for him. God gave you great talent, don't forget where you got it, and those who helped you along the way. Good luck Adam. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for touching base with Ryan & Kristen. :) and letting your littlest & sickest fan know you were there."

Not too fond of the tone the woman took with Adam...
...that said there is nothing normal about having to see your child suffer and die, I wish the family strength and peace...

I'm once again amazed by Adams eloquence...how he finds the right words or SOMETHING at all for that matter to say that boy...

Sad to say, I was a little skeptical of this plea at first. Then is turned out to be legit. I'm so glad that Adam finally was informed about this little boy and responded to him to nicely.

The problem always is that there must be many, many similar requests that come in to Adam (and other celebrities) all the time..... most, if not all, undoubtedly ruses.

It must be difficult, if not impossible, to know what is legitimate. Also, I doubt Adam can even find time to see/read EVERY note from fans.

Fortunately, he learned of and was able to make contact with this small, sick fan. I hope that brought some solace to the little boy and his family. My heart goes out to them.

The woman who wrote the somewhat snarky (IMO) tweet was not the boy's mother. Glad Adam was finally able to connect with him.

Side story: I saw a documentary some time ago about the Beatles. At their peak, people would do anything to get close to them. To some people, the Beatles had almost mystical powers. There are stories of parents who brought sick children, some disabled in wheelchairs to the hotels where the Beatles were staying, even finding ways to locate their hotel rooms. They found ways, through various means, to be allowed to parade their children in front of the band members, who were expected to be kind, compassionate and courteous to many who stood in line to do this. They] Beatles said afterward, that it was very awkward for them to be put in this position. They managed to get through all this, sometimes with gritted teeth, but it certainly speaks volumes about fan entitlement.

I know Adam is not being put in this extreme kind of position. But the tone of the woman who tweeted (not the boy's mother) didn't enhance sympathy for the little boy.

Adam is a kind, gentle, sweet, thoughtful and caring soul. And he is so wonderful with children. I also assume that he gets many requests for various things.. Most of which he doesn't see. His management has no choice but to screen things for him. And I have no doubt in my mind that when does respond to people with requests such as this one, he does it privately with no fanfare or expectations. Because he doesn't expect anything in return: no publicity, no media ops for the most part.. I've heard of things that Adam has done for others privately that are not widely known. Sweet stories of Adam being Adam, the man with a very big heart. Because he prefers it that way.. His publicist Shoshanna Stone recently said (unrelated to this situation) that Adam only sees a very small percentage of Tweets to him. And we assume that would be the same for Facebook, and also anything sent to his management.

The first Facebook post/tweet (which has since been deleted) that was sent to Adam regarding this sweet little boy was not particularly positive.. It was desperate & frustrated and sad. This one was better in tone...

That said, I can understand the frustration and urgency, and even the disappointment that there had been no response since it had been going on for quite some time. But I don't feel that it warrants unkind words of frustration to Adam.

What a terrible thing this young child and his family has been through. I can relate somewhat because my beautiful young nephew passed away from cancer. Never fair for a young life to be cut short.

The beautiful thing is that Kaldyn is surrounded by people who love and cherish him.. People who care so much that they contacted Adam in hopes that he might reach out in some way to Kaldyn. Thankfully it happened. And it's wonderful that Adam's music was a comfort to him during his life, the good times and the bad.. I suspect that Adam was so touched by the request and the knowledge that this little boy loved his music this much..

Blessings on little Kaldyn, his family and friends.. And Blessings to Adam... for being Adam.

Beautifully said, glitzy. I didn't mean to sound harsh in my comment. I know this family has faced lots of frustration over this. I imagine they thought they would never hear from Adam because he was ignoring them. But of course he simply did not know. He has a huge heart and he relates so well to kids. Glad it all worked out.
