How nice that Adam will attend...and perform. From what he said earlier, he bonded with Avicii when they produced "Lay Me Down" (which I assume he will sing at the tribute). I hope we'll get to see videos of the tribute...or at least videos of Adam's performance.
Sad to lose such a young person!...and such a talent, by all accounts.
Tragic waste of such a talented artist's life, so young as well, I'm sure Adam will do Avicii proud, Adam spent a lot of time a few years back in Sweden, writing and recording, it will be a great tribute concert
First, I think it's great they're having this event -- Avicii was a very talented artist and it is so sad his life ended so early, so tragically, and this will help bring a greater light to the mental health crisis that occurs all over the world, it is SO important -- and it's wonderful that the organizers have not only invited Adam to participate, but they've highlighted him. I love that they recognize his collaboration with Avicii as a milestone in Avicii's career and they recognize Adam as the true artist he is.
And, so, this is why, secondly -- and I realize this is more or less 'water under the bridge now' but it bears saying -- I wish the Avicii's record company executives would have just taken the ultra-creative track that "Lay Me Down" is and RELEASED IT as a single in the US. It is a frickin-fantastic song!
C'mon, you have a massive hit with "Wake Me Up," which made Aloe Blacc a star, but you don't do anything with the song's 'twin,' so to speak, "Lay Me Down," sung by an international artist everyone knows has one killer voice..?! "Lay Me Down" woulda been pure perfection as Avicii's follow-up single.
So, what did they do, "test released" it in Australia and then just gave up on it. Absolutely no chance in America? These damn record company "suits"...! They have such little courage. They are so uninspired it is pathetic. They coulda had a 2nd massive hit on their hands, and they blew it. This is probably why Adam is releasing "Superpower" with independent label EMPIRE and has a ton of control over the release -- as he should.
Sorry for this comment to be partially a downer, guys -- I truly am happy Adam is at this event and, again, that he is definitely being shown as one of the 'headliners,' so to speak, and it is going to do a world of good -- but still, to this day, it burns me up that the marvelous song that was an incredible collaboration between Adam and Avicii and Nile wasn't even given a chance here. smh
Broddybounce....I had no idea how that evolved. But did wonder why " Lay Me Down" didn't receive the attention and aclaim that "Wake Me Up" did. It seemed so unfair...and now turns out that it was!. Can't blame you for being "burned up". So am I...now!
Rosemary White I'm hoping Nile will be there ,it's bound to be a great event, even though brought about by such a tragic and sad occasion, I totally agree, I could never understand why "Lay me Down" wasn't more of a hit tbh, it's a really good single, and definitely should have been released Worldwide, I wonder if Adam could re release it or even add it to the end of the second half of his album when it comes out as a tribute maybe ?
I was wondering about Niles as well. If he able to there sure he will. Lay Me Down was very good. Was the last song added to the album. I think it got overlooked because of that. It should have been released world wide. Many said it was the best on the album. It so tragic that a very talented guy life end like this. That's the reason for this concert to celebrate his life and try and raise money to help others. Other people who feel helpless that can lead to what happen with Avicii.

This is great news! I'm sure we will hear Adam perform "Lay Me Down." I love that song.

The poster says there are more artists to be announced.
I wonder if Nile will be there.
Listened to "Lay Me Down" again. This song should've been released WORLDWIDE!
