BILLBOARD: Best 2019 Songs and LGBTQ Albums plus NYC Solo Show Review

"Leading off his excellent 2019 EP Velvet: Side A, Adam Lambert's "Superpower" is one of the pop/rock powerhouse's most natural fits yet, a sleek electro-rock growler that stuns with both strength and finesse. Not like it really required much of a stretch for a guy currently serving as the frontman for Queen to embrace a 21st-century version of stomping, arena-sized glam rock, but it's still heartening just to hear how much Lambert seems to have found his musical sweet spot."

Then yesterday they came out with "20 Best LGBTQ Albums Of 2019: Staff Picks." Billboard staff writer Stephen Daw wrote about Adam's VELVET: SIDE A:
"It appears that touring with Queen only helped make Adam Lambert better. The first half of his solo project Velvet (the second is due out in 2020) shows audiences a more mature, refined version of the glam rock star they came to know on American Idol. Lambert refuses to box his sound in, gliding between soulful ballads (“Closer To You”), ‘70s funk (“Overglow”) and his classic pop-rock sound (“Superpower”). It’s all in the title — Lambert’s EP is a smooth as velvet."

Stephen Daw also wrote a glowing review of Adam after seeing his December 16th solo show at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC, which starts out with...
"On a rainy Monday night in New York City (Dec. 16), Glamberts from all around the tri-state area gathered together in the Lower East Side's Bowery Ballroom, now transformed to resemble the interior of a shimmering disco ball, to watch their favorite glam-rock star deliver a stunning show. The crowd varied from tweens to elders (one woman wore a shirt stating "Nana Loves Adam"), all waiting for Adam Lambert to strut his way onto the stage."

When I see Grammys handed out like popcorn, I always think of Adam Lambert, who, after ten years of amazing music sung beautifully, has only one Grammy nomination. It boggles my mind. I would love to see Velvet get some Grammy recognition. I know the timing is probably off for getting one. It usually is for him. But he's long overdue for a Grammy, esp. when you see the ones who win so many.
SO agree with you, Dee! It's long overdue. And what's also overdue: the musical guest spot on SNL! It's amazing who they've had on who don't even come close to Adam's talent.
Yeah, we're still waiting for Adam as an SNL musical guest. Some of the ones they have are pretty lame (though popular). I think Adam would make a great SNL host, too. He could handle it just fine. He would be great in any silly skit they threw at him. He's fearless. And he's done plenty of risquΓ© stuff in the past. And he has great comic timing. We've seen that, too. SNL has been asleep at the wheel when it comes to Adam.
I never watch SNL .. it bores me ... BUT ... if ADAM were to be the guest Host/performer .. I might watch it this once!! Please keep me posted if/when this ever happens .. personally, I'd rather see him on James Corden or Jimmy Fallon .. I would watch those shows & sometimes do!! Just my preference!!

This is all good stuff, Broddy. I luv it.
Love that behind-the-scenes clip! Seems like everybody who works with him loves him.
Watching Ms America pageant and looking through the recent posts, when I hear "Superpower" as the leadin song to a commercial !! YAY!
Watch the full #Home4Holidays special Sunday at 9/8c on CBS and @CBSAllAccess.

At "Queen of drags" finale there was song "Underneath" by Adam Lambert

So great to know that SP and UNDERNEATH have been used on TV. Adam makes a bit of money every time that happens. I can see SP being used for lots of things. Ads, etc. Great hook, powerful message. Underneath is a vocal and spiritual masterpiece that hasn't been performed more than once or twice I think. It's magnificent. Glad to know that someone discovered it and used for a perfect purpose.
Adam Lambert is on the cover of a new Magazine:

Loving all the great reviews for Adam! I agree with everybody here concerning Adam needs that Damn Grammy already!!! Needs to be in that Damn SNL already!!! Needs to be invited with Queen on that Damn Superbowl halftime already!!! Needs to be in a movie/animation where he's praised for great acting BUT in a successful movie as well, been a few of acting projects where the movie or Rocky Horror Picture Show have "sucked" not good!
Speaking of which, I read yesterday on Twitter about a Peter Pan movie project where there's been several actors considered playing Peter Pan and Adam is the number 1 preferred choice. Many fans have scoffed at the idea of a 37 year old man playing that part, that they say he would make a great Captain Hook! I too could see him as Hook but depending on the direction they want to go maybe Adam can play an adult Peter Pan! Anyone watched on ABC station "Once Upon a Time"? I did it had all the Fairy Tale characters but all as adults! So just saying!
