I love Adam, but this is too much make-up and too much acting. He is sexier without make-up, his hair down, and smiling. He should give that a try when performing FYE. Look at the success of the WWFM video where he looks young and cute.

That was fantastic!!!

Maria (I missed yesterday's Adam actions, now i'll have to catch up)

I love the videos when we get that great big sexy smile!!!(also love the hair down and no lipstick) Got tickets to the KC concert in July, we are so excited, its a small venue and when he's a mega star next year I know it will be in big arena's...The tickets were so reasonable also! COUNTING THE DAYS!

I sounded great, it almost sounded as through we got raw vocals with music in the background.

@Anonymous May 14, 2010 10:49 AM - I understand what your point of view is, I really do, but I also have to say that THIS is very much a part of who Lambert is... I've been thinking this a lot lately, when I read what fans write in different places on various sites... I am no Lambert expert and don't know him personally in any way, shape or form, but there is a lot of media out there for fans to consume (and I have) and THIS Adam is, yes, only one side of Adam, but it seems to me from following him that is is a VERY prevalent side to Adam, so I think fans need to get used to it and embrace it. From following Lambert's career, seems to me that the OTT club-kid Adam was, is, and will continue to be very present in Adam-the-Entertainer (and quite frankly, Adam the person too but only his inner circle knows that). Blah blah blah - I just don't want fans to forget that Lambert by all accounts seems to be very (and I hate this word but AL uses it himself) flamboyant, and fans need to continue to embrace that in their fandom of AL. Maybe I read you wrong "Anonymous May 14, 2010 10:49 AM" and I apologize if so (just my opinion anyway, lol) but I've read so much commenting lately from Lambert FANS with this preference and that preference and this opinion and that opinion... and I think sometimes that people need to go back and check out Zodiac footage and stuff like that, cuz it really seems to me that "that Adam" is a whole lot more the real Adam. Again, apologies if I read too much into/between your lines...

this show seemed a little leary of the WIDE SHOT if you ask me :) lol... or maybe the camera man and Director in the control room calling the shots just couldn't take their eyes of Lambert's gorgeous face and captivating eyes :)... which is certainly understandable

Adam has repeatedly said he interprets the lyrics of the song in his performances, that's his thing. So don't think the the soft, sexy look would work for an edgy sexy song like FYE. I think works, love it, it's so Adam!

I agree with you anony 2:07. MY preference is also the down hair without so much make-up, but that's me. When Adam is "himself" and just hanging (although not much of that these days), he lets his hair go more natural and loses most of the make-up. You see that in the airport shots when he's just Adam, the person not the performer. But the big part of his schtick is the glam, and this does go to his fundamental preferences for OTT glam like you see at the Zodiac. His stage personna continues to change, and that makes him interesting.

Remember, he is a man who basically re-invented himself, and I see him continuing that process. All I know is that he makes my life much more intersting. Going to see him in Denver, and that's quite a drive considering I live in Texas. If he ever shows in Texas, I'll be there also. Love that boy!

Fabulous!!! Thought he looked and acted just right in the context of the song. This is not an easy song to sing, and he was masterful in every respect.

i think he looks beautiful.....reminded me of Elvis!!!!! sounded great too!!!!

yes, adam has many different sides but that's what you call reinvention, that's what makes people talk, that's what makes him interesting.

i am with you some people above, i prefer him with less make up, he looks better but it's all adam's choice. i suppose it is entire up to us, take him or leave him.

I totally agree with you anon 2.00. This is more the real Adam that the one from AI. I love all his performances on the Zodiac Show. There he was just stunning.

This has made so eager to watch him live this summer!!!!

Anon 10:49 what you call "acting" Adam calls "choreograqphy" (dancing) for those of you in Rio Linda. I for one am tired of "I like Adam this way" "I want Adam to be more.." Get over yourselves. Until he hires you for his stylist or manager or agent, he's going to do what he wants to do and any true Adam Fan will accept whatever that is.

I think Adam would want to hear what his fans like. It's not as if anyone here would stop being his fan if he's not more (fill in the blank).

Anon 6:25 Oh how quickly you forgot the AMA's downturn in numbers of fans.

Anonymous said...

Anon 6:25. You forgot those pesky AMA's?

Don't we have enough singers and entertainers out there who don't wear makeup and let their hair down? It isn't as though Adam doesn't provide that kind of thing in his stripped down acoustic performances, so you guys who like him that way, and I do too, just I like all of Adam, not just some of him, if that's what you want, you can just go watch 'em and watch 'em again, and again, and you'll be happy. Personally I love all the camp Adam comes up with, I love the tongue in cheek, I love the playacting, the flamboyance, the originality and I like the teamwork he's got with his musicians and dancers all coming together to create something new and different. I mean, wake up people, you've got this extraordinary artist unfolding before you, expressing himself in extraordinary ways for you, his audience, whom he really wishes to serve, and all you can do is complain. Give me a break...no wonder Adam talks about going to Europe where folks have more sophistication and life experience.

@Lisa May 14, 2010 8:21 PM - good points, but maybe you can soften your delivery a bit. Everyone at 24/7 seems to be up for friendly discussion and debate, but the operative word their is friendly.

Also

to Anony 7:15 & 7:17 - I'm not quite sure exactly what your point was (seriously, not being snarky, I truly don't really get what you were trying to say) but I have just a quick comment nonetheless - the so called AL fans who abandoned their fandom of Lambert specifically because of the AMA's would have fallen away eventually anyway. I read that wording on a blog somewhere - "would have fallen away anyway..." and it struck me as so true. (and as an aside - I totally loved that AMA performance, loved the throwback cultural references, loved the underground feel, loved all the themes presented, but that's just me lol)

Lisa I totally agree with you. We need to accept Adam as he is, just as he is. I know that I do not want to change anything about him. Everything about him makes him so special. All other artists out there are alike, but Adam stands out. Please guys stop complaining about Adam. He is perfect just like he is. Remember what made you love him in the first place.

Smokin hot - damn! I like Adam with his hair "down" too, but this is what I love about Adam - he's always changing it up and keeping things interesting. He's so intreguing in that way. He never lets us get bored - and that's why I appreciate him!

Chiming in here...

No one is really "complaining" as I see it. I think we all love Adam for who HE is. It's part of what drew us to him. It's just an opinion that several of us share that we personally like the way he looks with hair down and less makeup, but would NEVER ask him to change into something he would rather not be. We wouldn't ask him to be not gay because we know he would never do it for one, and two, if he didn't come out and just kept it a secret he would be miserable and he wouldn't be the Adam we all came to know and love no matter which way he swings, how he wears his hair or makeup or which way he signs an autograph. We know that would not make for a happy Adam. We are just happy he is making us so happy. He has so many beautiful positive things going for him!

Anon 9:04 if something you read in a blog strikes you as true and therefore you chide someone else for what whey feel in their heart, seems to me you might want to read a few more blogs with differing opinions. I believe in reading several opinions and then choosing that which comes closest to my mindset. Oh, and please don't preach to this group. We don't care for high and mighty on this site. Just saying...;)

Anon 2:00 pm Totally agree with you in everything you said. You sound like one of our new guys to this blog. If you are, we welcome your views here. If you're not, no offense meant. :)

Anon 9:04. Not everything you read from any given media source is necessarily true. That is scary thinking.
