is FYE suitable for teen nick, unless I am not aware as to what teen nick is.I love Adam and especially his singing, but this particular song isn't for teens
To anon7:08 - by the time anyone nowadays is 13, they pretty much know everything already, no matter how much we, myself included, want to stick our heads in the sand. Kids don't talk to parents because they don't want them to know what they know. They don't listen to boring stuff on the radio, they know all the cuss words you do, they know what a condom is for even if they haven't used one since 99.9% of them take care of themselves. It doesn't make it right, but it is reality. That goes for the US as well as the UK. This is TeenNick UK, and by European standards, this is pretty tame. They're not as uptight as "we" are.
justpeachy (I live in Alabama, so believe me, I know about uptight!)
And ya know, if you're watching something with your teen and you see something you are concerned about, USE it as a conversation opener, be creative ... "what did you think of that?" "what are you wondering about" Better "get real" because believe me, THEY are. Adam is precious and safe and fun and extraordinary. His clothes are ALL on, he's not touchin' anybody he's just sexy and ya don't have to be 25 to feel it, MOM!!
Whoa. I am very, very open minded - but must confess the same thought went through my head. Damn this is sexy! THIS is on a teen show?? Maybe it's because I have a 6 year old son...he's still so young, that I'm in a more "protective" mind set. Also - the sound on this clip was kinda funky...like Adam was singing in a vacuum or something. Maybe I'm used to hearing more of his song track that he sings over, and this didn't have much background ambiance.
Hi Everyone,i know what your saying about being a teen show, UK children are taught sex education at school from an early age! even though we still have a high rate of girls getting pregnant in their early teens say 15/16... i don't have kids myself and do feel kids grow up way too quick!! i don't think this was at all wrong Adam,s fye as it is Adams single in the UK. its songs like rihanna rude boy lyrics and say 50 cents lyrics like candy shop..lick my lollipop!!! are way over the top for young kids..it must be hard to protect your children from all the dangers of life these days, they learn everything at school from friends etc that you would rather they didn't know!! Missing Adam so much Lambrit Isle of Wight UK
Its not just about sex, I am aware the kids today know more than they need to. This song has a negative message for teens, its about rough sex and dominating the partner, and to hold on til they scream. Not too sure if its a good song for anyone. I love the sound and the beat and rythem, just not all the words
My 8 and 10 year olds have watched the FYE many times,(its played a lot on MTV Asia), and listen to the song all the time in the car. There are far worse songs lyrically out there.
sorry Adam, I like you - this did not work well. This came accross improperly prepared performance. Could be their set up but - you were not your best. Careful - you really need to be better prepared. I think when you look at it you will agree.
There were a couple things that were great- he danced really good, he looked really hot which is important if you want to sell in the teen area, the red head dancer is really hot too and the camera man was a f... master! what great shots and montage! i love FYE because of it's lyrics - they really get me workin'. I agree with the above statements that teens know everything so such a video does no harm. most kids have watched porn by the time they're twelve. don't see the big deal. vocally not so good unfortunately though:(
Gaga's performance on American Idol that is watched by young children was much worse than this. There wasn't anything out of line here. In regard to those of you WHO didn't think the vocals were good, WHAT???
I thought this was a great performance and I particularly enjoyed the white strobe lighting and the dancers who do everything they can to make Adam look good and put on the same attitude that he generates. This is a naughty song, but not necessarily a pornographic song and I think most 13 and on up are able to handle that, if much doesn't go over their head if they aren't knowledgeable. Adam was just great in this video--you guys have to relax and enjoy and stop worrying about his success. Have a little trust!
It the UK-- TV shows like Skins and even Dr Who deal pretty openly with sexuality. I'd worry more about teens that are clueless than those who have an idea of what the song could be intepreted to mean. It's clear the song is about full body waxing or getting a tatoo. :-) I wonder what other artist have been on the show?
Anon May 12, 2010 1:09 AM adam watched porn when he was 13! so you're probably right
as a teen, this song is not the most innapropriate song lyrically at all. it's all suggestive metaphors, because it has a double meaning, so it has to be pretty unspecific like that. Nine Inch Nail's "Closer", Rihanna's "Rude Boy", anything Eminem wrote, even a few lines in Kesha's songs are much worse than this. this song is actually kind of...tame, in a way. I see no problem with teen nick filming this. completely unprovocative..well...except for the eyes and eyebrow... :) but anyway. all of you are right. Teens around my age are probably the most interested in sex. some say it's sad, and sometimes we do get out of hand. but really, we feel like we have to learn this because we're going through puberty, so we're getting all these crazy, out of control hormones. we feel like we're growing up, and we need to do adult stuff, like drive a car, stay out late, in some sad cases, do drugs and drink alchohol, because we want to grow up. Also, we're REALLY starting to explore our sexuality, and listening to this kind of music is ok now because we are learning about this. idk. im ramblin. im sure plenty of artists sang provocative songs worse than this on teen nick, though. (and by worse, i dont mean i dont like this song. i mean the lyrics are risque)
I can't say this is inappropriate on teen nick at all. I wouldn't be surprised to see it on the US TeenNick, because they do have shows on their that push boundaries. Being a 15 year old girl, I watch Degrassi occasionally, and some shows are definitely risque. The very first episode protrayed a thirteen year old girl on the verge of being raped. They show homosexuality, homophobia, racism, sexism, drugs, sex, sexting, rape, incest, partying, everything. I remember a more risque episode a couple years ago where a lesbian girl took a job as a stripper at a gentlemens club in order to make money for her family, and her girlfriend found out. That one show explores all areas of sexuality without hiding or denying, so if that is an accepted show I wouldn't find it surprising in the slightest to see adam lambert on that channel. In fact, I wish he WAS on the TeenNick in the US.

His voice sounds kinda weak and held back, I wonder if he has been getting a full nights nest...
i think it's just the studio sound and not acutally Adam's voice that sounds weak

Lovvvve FYE. It should have been a bigger hit. IIHY will fill the void, i guess.

Nice Camera Work!
Loved this and his fierce eyes!!
regarding young kids watching and listening to the words,i really don,t think the younger kids would understand what anywords mean
