Ryan Seacrest: Adam Lambert and Simon have a lot in common

Ever since Adam Lambert made his “American Idol” appearance this season mentoring the contestants, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding his future. With the impending departure of judge favorite Simon Cowell, there have been a lot of rumors as to who FOX is going to get to replace him. It seems that Lambert has become a front runner since he’s already been through the process and his eccentric personality is sure to keep ratings from dropping.
Ryan Seacrest has his thoughts on the situation and told Hollyscoop, “I have to be honest with you, I think Simon and Adam have a lot in common. Obviously aesthetically you see the two of them and they look a lot alike.”
But it looks as if even though everyone else is on board with the idea, the singer isn’t so keen on it. He said, “Not Now. I think now is the time for me to work on my own music.”
While we would love to see him on “Idol” next year, we can’t blame him for wanting to remain a singer now that his singles are starting to take off.

Adam Lambert is really smart. He knows that while American Idol has had an extremely long and successful run, it has now reached its peak and can only go downwards from now on. Embarking on the train after Simon Cowell's departure would also be extremely difficult. There would be continued comparisons made between the two. Who would want to be associated with this show's decline? Many, many other shows have had long, successful runs (Seinfeld, Friends, Mash, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Cheers, etc.) but all have ended it when at the top. AI is no different and, in my humble opinion, should put an end to a terrific run after this season. Adam's presence as an amazing mentor this season is a plus in his young career. He has also been an avid supporter and ambassador of the show during his worldwide promo tour this winter and spring. Time to concentrate on his career.

ai is already goes down the tube.. goes down the tube with out adam lambert-simon cowel watch. if the clal adma just a oen day judge every week would eb nice or if adam lmabert is free that night. he can be a part time ai judge for now.

Maybe he can be a guest judge, but I agree with 11:08 comment. Idol is on the decline--witness this season. No way being a judge would be fulfilling for this talented man. Keep making music Adam.
Ryan can be a jerk at times. And he was with his statement about adam and simon being aestheticcally alike. For those of you in Rio Linda, that mean that adam and simon look alike.
No frikkkin way. I wish Ryan would promote Adam on his radio show more; but apparently he has better fish to fry.
Glad that Adam is not keen to be idol judge for now! Adam is one brilliant guy n I believe he can forsee things in 10 years to come (may be by then AI will come to an end!) and that's the reason for him not take up the 'offer' if that ever happens!

Ryan has finally calmed down. He was such an a$$ for more than half of the idol season. Again he has an unwarranted comment to make about Simon and Adam. Sad.
Put Ryan in the judges seat. They can find a new host type and he certainly knows the show and the music industry.
