Hi everyone! I'm a new Adam fan. I have never watched American Idol but I did hear about Adam coming out of the closet from the news. Never took the time to check out his music. Thought he was one of those other pop stars but I stumbled across this website and watch some of his performances and I'm hooked. I listened to Broken Open and WANT on youtube and they're amazing songs. (I'm more of a ballad person)

Is Adam's album worth getting for someone like me who likes ballads like Broken Open and WANT? What does most of the songs on the album sound like?

To LastFriends:

OMG! Go, run as fast as you can to get this CD!!! There is definitely something for everyone, and every mood. I can listen one day and one certain song is my favorite. The next day, it might be something else. "Aftermath" was very personal for a family member because she went through a painful divorce with depression/ pills/suicide attempts. . . the whole 9 yards. When she listened to this, it was very healing for her and she knew there was more life to live. "Soaked" is something anyone who has ever searched for love, not necessarily in the right places, can relate to. And if you just want a horny fix, Youtube "Whole Lotta Love, Fantasy Springs, Improved Version". It's 8:40 long. Let it download all the way, get a glass of wine, put on headphones, turn everything else off (tv, kids, etc.) and enjoy. You will not watch it just once. You will see him chanel everyone from Elvis to Jim Morrison. Look up all his Upright Cabaret performances (Come Home & I Just Love You especially), Citizen Vein (old band), and Voodoo (with scenes from Labyrinth w/David Bowie). Damn! the list has become vast. Give yourself a few hours for this as you are about to be "GLamborized"!!!

Check in later and let us know what you think.

justpeachy - I think you and I could be friends :).

To LastFriends @ 7:43pm - I could go on and on and on and on :)...but in an attempt to keep it short - I'll just throw in a comment about your ballads preference - you must check out "Can't Let You Go". I actually ordered the UK Import so I have it "officially" and the sound quality is much better than any version on the internet - but I don't know if you'll deal with ordering an import cd or not, so if not, definitely check it out on the internet - beautiful ballad!

P.S. - If you think Want was good, check out Can't Let You Go and Down the Rabbit Hole. they are both bonus tracks that weren't released on the U.S. CD. You will be extremely happy.

justpeachy, what a review of Adam's CD and performances. You would make anyone a fan, even a avid Kris fan would want to run to buy his CD after that review. I agree with all of this review. Yes Lastfriends, run, do not walk and buy his CD now.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and one more thing, justpeachy is correct - you must check out the "Whole Lotta Love" from the Fantasy Springs Indio CA concert from last February... you will NOT watch it just once!! The stuff that legends are made of IMHO.

LastFriends: I have watched WWL so many times, I have all of his subtle moves completely memorized. I downloaded it and listen to it in my "Mom van" and have naughty thoughts while visualizing every subtle move. How sick is that? The more you are on here, the more afflicted you will become, but you will not want anyone to find the cure;) It is a happy state to be in.

I'm adding my thanks for justpeachy's "review", especially Whole Lotta Love Fantasy Springs!!!! Not only was I lucky enough to be there for that epic version (travelled a thousand miles to be there for his "first" headlining concert), but just have to watch and enjoy it every so often. It is the epitome of why Adam is so special and will go far with his career (not to mention its the ultimate fantasy ...if I was a smoker, there'd definitely be a cigarette after watching and listening to it....phew!) And LOVE his album, must add FEVER to recommended songs. Listen to it on my way to work, wakes me up and keeps me going! And love SLEEPWALKER and.......

Yes Yes justpeachy (8:13 & 8:16 again here) isn't it hysterical how we can listen to just the audio of Fantasy Springs WLL, no video assist, and absolutely know from memory every move he is making at every moment!!!! So funny. I listen to it a lot when I vacuum and think naughty thoughts, equally as sick :)... Lawdy, if I listened to it in my vehicle I think I'd drive off the road or worse - cause a terrible multi-vehicle accident, LOL.

Yep, totally afflicted and yep, want no cure.

Hi Lastfriends: I just had to add A Loaded Smile ... absolutely so beautiful ... from his album ... on Ytube check out .. Adam at 22 Brigadoon ... The Prayer ... I Can't Make You Love Me ... Quiet Desperation .. Come Home ... so many beautiful ballads to choose from as well as his American Idol songs. Be prepared to give up quite a few hours maybe even days .... I never get tired of listening to ADAM. To me he is the KING OF IMPROVISATION ... constantly re-inventing each song so that it sounds FRESH & NEW!! ENJOY!!

You're right, they would find us, off in some field or in a ditch, sitting in our cars, with silly smiles on our faces......and totally oblivious to where we ended up.....

Anonymous said...

Yes Yes - Love "A Loaded Smile" (underrated!). And "Brigadoon" is breathtaking!

Gee, Ladies, we haven't heard back from LastFriends while we've been going on and on. What do you think he/she is up to? Hmmmm?

"LastFriends" is busy checking out FS WLL... LastFriends will be gone for hours and hours now ;)

Sh_t, I'm on ESTime, I gotta get off this computer and get some sleep. Damn you Adam Lambert and Glamily, LOL.

to 9:13, I know. It's 11:20 here and I gotta get up early. Oh why do I keep letting myself get so sucked in? Oh yeah, that gorgeous, scentilating, intelligent, sensual, well-spoken, seductive man that will never know how much of an impact he has made on me.

I have WLL Fantasy Springs version in my Ipod so currently I watch it every now and then during the day everyday! Not to say I don't find Adam's other songs great because they all are! Maybe next week, I will obsess over another song of his.

@justpeachy: Re: LastFriends

I think she/ he's freaked out with all the responses. lol!

from a not-so-virgin Adam fan :)

ps: I love love love his version of Feeling Good! Gives me goosebumps EVERY FREAKIN TIME!

Anonymous said...

I'm glad someone mentioned "Feeling Good". The studio version is so haunting, especially the last part where he went into falsetto and then went down to a very low note before ending. Definitely gave me goosebumps everytime I listened to it!

Anonymous said...

Okay, I'm posting on this thread again - I really gotta give myself a tag... anyway, LOVE LOVE LOVE "Feeling Good" LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

LastFriends said...

Hey everyone! Thanks for the nice responses. I ordered Adam's special edition version of the album on amazon. I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Another question, I noticed that Adam's tour starts this month. Is there a link to the shows that he's doing? And is all of them sold out? I was hoping he'll play here during the summer when I'm on break. (Will graduate HS this year yay)

Anonymous said...

@LastFriends check out www.adamofficial.com for tour info.

Anonymous said...

@LastFriends:
Which special edition? I bought the repackaged edition that comes with a DVD. Can't stop watching it. (^_^)

LastFriends said...

I bought this one....I believe it comes with a DVD too.

http://www.amazon.com/Your-Entertainment-Special-Adam-Lambert/dp/B003A060J2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1275676947&sr=8-3

Is it the same version you bought?

Anonymous said...

@LastFriends:

Yup. :) I think this repackaged edition is only for sale in Japan & Malaysia, but you can always get it online. And for your reading pleasure, I'd definitely recommend 'On The Meaning of Adam Lambert', a compilation of web posts of two talented ladies (who are also crazy Glamertinas! :P) ~ juneau & xena.

Better go to bed now. It's already 3.15am here. Yes, I blame Adam Lambert for my lack of sleep. (^_^)V

"Lawdy, if I listened to it in my vehicle I think I'd drive off the road or worse - cause a terrible multi-vehicle accident, LOL."

Yes, I hope I won't be caught dead DUI of Adam Lambert. It would be a new traffic violation because I got easily distracted when listening to him in my car!

Anonymous said...

I think I could make a lot of money opening a rehab clinic for recovering Adamholics. No, maybe not. I would be too busy on here. LOL!

justpeachy

Anonymous said...

@justpeachy, Rehab would never work because none of us want to be cured. Think about a commune where we could all od 24/7 and never feel guilty.Btw Adam should hire you as his press agent. Great description of his music.Brigadoon had me mesmerised. You hear every beautifully trained clear notes of his voice. Absolute perfection.I love everything he does, but sometimes just want to hear the pure beauty of his voice. funbunn40

Ladies and gents...I too am just like all of you. I am up till 1-2am every night reading etc about Adam and up at 7:15...for almost a year now...it's catching up to me. This isn't good for me, but I can't do it realistically any other time. I have a family. My husband doesn't even know though he is catching on that I am going to bed so late...darn!
Talk about EUIAL (existing under the influence of Adam Lambert)! I have to wait till July 24th to see him for the first time!
