We all know that Adam has said that he wants to be an entertainer and not a spokesperson for a cause. But his tweets today show that there are times that everyone has to speak up.
His tweets call out a wrong, and I think are a call to arms. We often wonder how we can support Adam and what he stands for, other than buying his music and attending concerts. This is how.

I have contacted various media from time to time to state my opinion on various things in the past when I felt it was really important to do so and this is one of those times...I also get tired of the haters comments about Adam Lambert fans being over the top in our support for Adam, but this is not only about Adam but society's often very disrespectful and unfeeling attitudes about the GLBT community as a whole and in this case, an individual human being being subjected to prison rape and liking it....Unbelievable...Adam said he "isn't upset" about it, but I am...and I'm guessing he is too in reality...He's just undoubtedly heard this sort of crap so much over the years that he isn't surprised by, it which is so sad in itself. I will be sending my comments to the appropriate places this weekend or next week..Thanks for the info.

Re: the apology, there was a long discussion at alfterelron.com about his type of apology where someone says, "Sorry you were offended." - That this is different then saying, "I am sorry for my remark, it was insensitive, wrong, etc." The latter is taking responsibility for their comment whereas the former implies that you are just super sensitive, cant take a joke, need to lighten up, etc. I had never thought of that before but it makes so much sense. Most apologies you hear are the latter type. Wish more people would simply say," I said something stupid and I am sorry." Hope you understand what I was trying to say. Adamluv

There are videos even showing Adam talking politely to this guy. Reportedly the guy had been shooting Adam and his friends for over an hour and continued to stalk them.

When you hear enuf shit said year after year about any 'group' of people, they become less than human and therefore, not deserving of respect. I think the best way to handle this issue is to go to the source, which I have. E has apparently set up a site that is taking these complaints. I posted what I thought about Catherwood's insensitivity to the gay community and in particular Adam. I will also E-mail Ted Harbert, CEO of E. This Howard Stern wannabe stepped way over the line. These two so called "journalists" should have been censored for their inappropriate comments. Their tasteless attempts at humor at someone else's expense were mean-spirited and hurtful. "E Entertainment" has been a respected source for celebrity news, but their two reporters who will NEVER be celebrities nor hold a candle to Adam's success, have tarnished the network's reputation. Both individuals should be held accountable for their inexcusable and offensive comments and snickering during the piece and offer a SINCERE apology not only to Adam but to the thousands of people, gay and straight, whom they have offended but their crass and disrespectful commentary. Their report wasn't journalism, it was discrimination. Shame on them and the network for allowing this to be aired in the first place. Heads should roll, starting with Catherwood and Adler. Adam has handled this latest personal attack with both grace and conviction in standing up for what he believes in and who he is as an individual. Maybe more people should have that kind of courage.
