Anoop Desai Explains His Comments

Filed Under (, ) by Admin on Friday, October 22, 2010

Posted at : Friday, October 22, 2010

After receiving some complaints from some of Adam's fans, Anoop tweeted the following message:

"Whoa..reading my mentions. How are some of y'all going to tell me I'm dissing my friends? Hilariously out of line and miscontextualized. First of all, interviews are not direct quotes. If they were they'd be long as anything. Point I was making: my brand is not the same as other major respected artists out there. Know some of y'all love Adam and so do I. The end."

The original site of the story also attempted to clear things up, saying that Anoop did not intend to create any sort of disrespect towards Adam or Ke$ha with his words, and that he was actually trying to articulate that his music was merely different.

If anyone's interested: http://www.examiner.com/tv-in-national/american-idol-anoop-desai-adam-lambert-controversy-cleared-up

don't think this is "original site" mentioned above, think that's Rodney Ho's site, just throwing this Examiner story in the mix. Do think we need to tread lightly, JMO, so I guess I shouldn't be posting links and I should take my own advice!! but just FYI'ing... and now I better get my *ss back to work, been blogging for 45 damn minutes - BB's so addicting :).

Some thoughtful twitters to Anoop might be in order. We VERY easily write the negatives but a supportive, good luck with your song/video might be in order at this point. IMO Peace.

We should all know better after seeing how Adam gets missquoted and abused all the time. Yes, apology is in order. Going to tweet him.

What am I missing 10:27am and 10:37am, I don't really find his tweet to be all that pleasing or reassuring. It certainly isn't contrite, and he feels he doesn't need to be contrite, fine, so be it, completely understandable, but I find it a bit arrogant actually. Really do not love his "The End". This is just my opinion. I absolutely would not harrass or throw out hate towards Desai, but I'm running to twitter to tweet apologies as a result of this either. Someone enlighten me please. Not that deep like Adam says, happy to let it all go actually, but only those that spewed ugliness at Desaid should apologize (because they shouldn't have done that in the first place actually, not because of his tweet). I'm being sincere, I'm not feeling what you folks are I guess. Anon 10:27's thoughtful tweets with support for music is cool, but apology, only if you were nasty to begin with I suppose, not otherwise.

Much to do about nothing - IMO. Adamluv

Personally I'd like to hear the interview "in context" because I'm having trouble imagining how AD brought up Adam and Keisha's music in any good way. Keisha's music is known to be pretty frivilous and people always say she can't sing. (sorry, nothing personal Keisha). Now is the interviewer brought up their names that would be different. Otherwise, I think it was an odd (to say the least) pairing. I'm done with it, but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth. :(

Ok -- Anoop -- closest thing to an apology Adam is gonna get. Yep things can be taken out of context, but Anoop probably has learned a lesson on the do's and don'ts when being interviewed. Anoop at least took the high road put an explanation out there.

I hope he is sincere when he saids he loves Adam.

WOW Music 101 lesson--it's a cutthroat world! Will take Anoop word that no insult intended, but by adding Keisha and Adam to this story his name got out there big time. Just sayin. 15 minutes and your done.

Adam and Anoop are good friends and I never did believe that Anoop said anything to diss Adam. We all know how misinterpretations occur in the media. Adam has been a victim of it many times. I recall Adam and Anoop hugging each other big time when Anoop was leaving Adam's birthday party. He always came across to me as a gentleman and I wish him nothing but the best.

I'm with 11.02 and 11.40,
not on twitter so haven't sent anything negative and wouldn't have anyway. But however many ways I try and read his 'quote' it doesn't look good, and the 'apology' isn't one, and doesn't make him come across well at all. Oh well, its not like I was ever going to buy his record or anything, thought he was very blah on Idol.

Yes, he can say we are "hilariously out of line and miscontextualized " (is that really a word?) but that is how his words read. So until he explained his thoughts (still not sure what he meant) of course Adam fans are gonna say "What??" And yes Adam has been misquoted before too. Just have to be so careful what you say and how you say it when you are in the limelight!

I asked him what his brand is: “It’s smart. It’s intelligent. I’m a gentleman. My music is real. It talks about life and situations I can relate to. You’re never going to hear me singing a song like Kesha or Adam [Lambert.] That’s not my lane. My lane is smart and hip. It’s hooky, it’ s catchy. I want to appeal to simple universal characteristics we all want, which is love.”

Sorry, but I still don't understand how this is a compliment. In other words, his songs are smart and hip and appeal to universal themes, while Adam's are.....what? Whoever posted put this up as a direct quote, but he says it wasn't. Not that I care right now, but what exactly did he really say, if he didn't say this? I just think it's an odd comment to make about a friend in the music business. However, it's a free country. He can say whatever he wants to further his career, I guess.

Anoop is still making music?

Whoa, dude. You are losing me here with your impressively intelligent use of big words like "miscontexualized". (Where the hell did I put my Webster's?)

Oh, now I've got one for you, Noopi: superciliousness. Yeah, wrap your cardigan-wearing, bow-tied brain around that one. I'm sure you are overwhelmingly percipient to the esoteric pulchritude of this communiqué. Fini.

Still not buying his music. The End.

I believe Anoop when he says he didn't mean anything negative. he just doesn't have the savvy when talking to the media that Adam has. That's why he's where he is and Adam is where Adam is. Aside from talent level. I wish him good luck and definitely he needs to carve out his own territory. I'll be listening to him. He is a friend of Adams.

I agree with the peeps who were not all that upset with what Desai said in the first place. The rest of you can go take a long walk off a short pier for all I care. You're sooooooo touchy. ew

"What we need in this world is some love"
Glam Nation Message is Love!

Let's not start sending Anoop all this negativity for this. It is possible he was misquoted and didn't intend any harm or negativity.

Yeah you can choose who you want to listen to and if you don't like Anoop's music then you don't like it. Just like if someone doesn't like Adam's music then they don't like it, but does that mean they should start tweeting Adam negative comments? No!

This is all based on our speculation and interpretation of the interview. Only the speaker knows what the intention of what they are saying is and unfortunately mediums of media can distort reality... so jumping to conclusion is not cool.

Love love love <3

His comment was uncalled for. Period.

I'll be looking for his CD to buy. Anoop is young and hasn't been in the business very long.Look how many times Adam has been taken out of context and the troubles he has seen.Besides his parents are so sweet I'd like to see him do well or at least have a chance.

@Anon October 22, 2010 6:04 PM, on purely a comedic level, your comment was hilarious. The End. LOL

Anonymous said...

I'd like to hear what ADAM thinks about this before making any rash judgements about this issue. But ADAM's music IS about LOVE so I'm confused on that statement from Anoop ... 'my music is about love' ... sounds like Anoop is a little mixed up or something. I sure know I am!

@6.18
I don't think we should be buying his album just 'because' he's a friend of Adams. I want hot, sexy, amazing Adam not some preppy guy in a cardi singing boring ballads.

Lolita - I must confess I had to look up the word "superciliousness" and it is now my new fave! Ha, ha! Thanks for the education. :)

Who cares anyway? I think he was just saying that he is not going to put out the type of usual pop crap that is being played on the radio today. Like it or not, that is the type of music Adam likes and wants to produce. Actually, I think Adam really likes that underground dance club music, and I think that is where his heart lies musically. I think that is what he wants to do. Unfortunately, that is not what America expected of him or wanted. As far as Anoop's music goes, I've heard one song and wasn't impressed.

Come on, college boy, say what you mean and mean what you say instead of blaming it on "miscontextualization" by the reader.

It's funny how Anoop decides he better recant, now all the world forgives him. This is not a true apology, just damage control. The words should never have left his mouth in the first place. No "gentleman" would compare his himself with others insinuating that he was better than them. That's boorish, not "intellegent". Lolita, once again, you made me belly-laugh!
