Adam Lambert is the Ambassador of Love. We, the fans, have known him close to two years now and he is consistent with his talent and with his loving personality. He isn't conceited and he certainly could be with all of his gorgeousness going on...what a really great guy.

Adam is the most talented, the most charismatic and the most honest of entertainers in my opinion.

I have never been a fan of anyone before Adam... He's a rare gem and we're lucky to have him here in America. I feel that Adam is on his way to becoming an international star and a future icon.

I think Adam already is an International Superstar, and icon will come over the years ahead. Looking forward to next album, tour. He is exciting to watch and listen to.

Adam has many fans of all ages. His fans outside of the US are mostly young. Are you an idiot from VFTW?

Anonymous said...

WE "LADIES OF A CERTAIN AGE", HAVE THE TIME AND MONEY TO SUPPORT OUR HABIT....PLUS WE HAVE EXCELLENT TASTE...WHICH IS ADAM

He has tons of teen to 30ish fans, they just don't get the press. Some older fans got the front row at the Hawaii show, and maybe the second row and the third row too, well good for them, sincerely, but don't underestimate Adam's fanbase, it's very wide-ranging, even in U.S., it just doesn't seem to fit many media outlets agenda and "hits required ratio" or something to show that.

Look at pics of Adam fans in Malaysia. So diverse. http://hotxpress.com/eventsnews.aspx?pk=B5412D689B33FE84205F554A4C8E3A545D23FA335A5FE884970A95FBFB9ACF40

I was at several GlamNation concerts and talked to 16-18 year olds who were having a ball. also took my son and his fiance (mid 20s) and they had a great time- said they would definitely go again, and they also play his cd. I don't think the younger fans necessarily have the funds for meet & greets- but they are there at concerts - screaming and buying merchandise. so don't let the pics fool you.

Re fanbase -- 24/7 is usually very good at showing pics of Adam's extremely large fanbase. OMG, just type Adam Lambert's name in YouTube and you will see that there are thousands and thousands of videos of Adam's younger fans showing their love for him and his music. Many other posts here as well (on 24/7) show videos and posts of younger fans going nuts for Adam!

Anonymous said...

24/7 -- I tend to agree that for the casual people viewing this site, it might leave them with the impression that Adam only has older fans (not that there's anything wrong with that). But let's remember that teenagers buy a lot of CDs and usually consider anyone over 20 as old :)!

Anonymous said...

Good point, 4:25 - by the teens' standards, ADAM is Old!

I want the full around hug like the lady in the 4th picture! ...heart pounding...

Adam fans started out older, as we were dying for a new star to come along, that wasn't a rapper, punk rock, or still with Disney. Since we also supported all the R&R greats, this was a natural progression. And there is even a name Milfs, which BTW is a fucking compliment. I like that better than cougar, which gives the impression that women are stalkers. Milfs puts the shoe on the other foot. LOL

I am a woman of a certain age, and I find some of these woman truly embarrassing. The women who is snuggled up to him like she is his prom date (4th pic) is at her forth M&G. She poses that way every time. She follows him everywhere. I only know this because I had the misfortune of crossing paths with her at a concert in Calf. We are talking seriously delusional....Hello, Adam is a 28yr old man, and as he so honestly put it during the AI tour.."Even if I were straight, I wouldn't be taking them ( older women) home."

I did get to meet Adam, and he is a sweetheart. It was an experience that I will always treasure, but you won't find me stalking him around the world...I really wonder what he thinks about these women.

Anonymous said...

What would he think about these women who are his mom's age or older ? Maybe he is just considering them as "good friends of his mother"...

Anonymous said...

Re 7:05 I wonder if Adam is a bit weird-ed out by this woman and others like her. He might start to question if it's worth the money haha. One M&G per person is fair.

Anonymous said...

I think it's great that Adam has a lot of "older" fans, but I do wish they stop hogging all the front rows and let the young people up front. Let's face it, in order for Adam to grow his fan base, us "older" women need to stay in the background and support him. To young teens, image is EVERYTHING and they wouldn't want to be caught dead hanging with/around woman their mothers' age. Just try to remember when you were a teenager and how you hated the "older" crowd. Well, things don't change.

But think about it. IMO, I think Adam would have a lot more younger fans if the "older" woman stopped fighting the younger ones for the front rows. We need to change the image we "older" fans are giving Adam.

When I went to his concert, I stayed in the back. I whole-heartedly support Adam 100% and always will, back I choose to remain in the background. And before you start spewing off at the mouth, think about it and come back tomorrow.

Re: 8:00PM Two thumbs up! Now if these were men of a certain age showing up at M&G's for young female singers everyone would be seriously creeped out. I think it's wonderful that Adam wants to meet all his fans, but if certain women took the time to listen to what he is saying in interviews, he really wants to see more young faces..who could blame him.

These woman are at every concert, they have seemingly endless funds.
They have imposed themselves on members of the band, and bag about their "insider" information. When you meet them, they size you up like you are the competition, which I find hilarious.

I have actually seen one of the talking with her back to the stage, while Adam was singing. You see it's not really about Adam, but about where they fit in the pecking order....just weird.

8pm has some points, just have to put this stuff on the table if I'm being honest. 9:19pm, I don't know, some points I guess, but take it easy

Anonymous said...

I think it's great for anyone who wants to stand for a long time in a lineup to get the places near the front - no one is stopping the younger people from doing that. But I agree with 8 pm and I don't think the same women should put themselves in the front every time. I think they are thinking of themselves more than they are thinking of Adam and where his interests might lie, so to speak..

Anon 4:15 PM - thanks for the link to all the great fans who turned out for his show in Malaysia! Yes - some great, fun, young fans there.

OK 24/7 peeps/regulars who are in HI right now - fess up...are any of these pix you??

We should put it as the motto of this blog

I'd say at the HK concert a large percentage of the audience were in the 18-25 age group.

Yes, to be honest Adams older US fans are cougars and stalkers not milfs. And just about a half a year ago it seemed like they wanted all the younger fans to stay away from Adam.

A lot of middle aged women watch Idol so it's natural that the majority of hardcore idol fans will be that age. Clay, Ace, Constantine, Taylor, Cook...most of male contestants have had "cougars" who follow them around the country. And this is why it's hard for male Idol contestants to be taken seriously among general music fans. You know there are lotsof people who make fun of male idols and their older female fanbase. It got so bad with Taylor Hicks that the media started using it against Taylor saying that his only fans were old hard up ladies. It got so bad and it actually turned off younger people from supporting Taylor. The media uses an older female fanbase as an indication that the idol is not "hip".

I personally don't mind older fans as long as they don't start acting like OTT fangirls.
Everytime I see older female fans making a "Adam is new Elvis!" or a "Adam's going to be iconic!" comment, I cringe.

@GLb October 26, 2010 9:56 PM: actually, I don't think there's anything wrong with posting initial GUT reactions. As long as some sort of civility is maintained, I don't see the problem in putting out on the table our gut, visceral reactions. Regarding this thread, maybe some of this stuff needs to be put on the table?

@Anon October 27, 2010 12:08 AM: I've read many times where some of the older female fans were quite accomodating to various young fans of both sexes to get them up front. Things usually cut both ways in life.

I would not take away one over 35 fan from Adam Lambert, not one!, but I guess what I would do is certainly add many more under 35 fans, maybe therein lies the key! I turned a 24 year old cousin on to Lambert this summer. She recently told me that she turned some teens she used to babysit for, and still sees, onto Lambert as well. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Sorry people, you know I can’t deny myself a good (semi)debate. Hopefully, most of you have already moved on to newer stuff, so I can enjoy this without becoming too obnoxious.

Soo.. Anon. 6:57am.. Loved your comments! In answering me, you also have a point BUT.. I THINK there is no such thing as the "civility" of the viscera. All we have (from) there is.. chemical reactions and.. ‘gases’, sometimes (most of the time?) released in a quite explosive manner. You know what I mean? In order to be at least polite if not ‘intelligent’ in our comments we need to take the rough emotions/affective reactions through the filter of..some brain cells. That means "thinking about it". Maybe a day it's too long to wait.. it might be a sign of a slow mind :-) .. but how about several minutes.. or an hour..or just counting to ten?! I think this is ‘required’ especially on those blogs with ‘international exposure’ where people from different backgrounds, cultures and with various levels of mastering the (English) language interact. That is, if we want to avoid misreads and misinterpretations.. as much as possible.

I’ll say that even ‘our’ Adam is still going through the process of learning how to ‘regurgitate’ the (over)glittered content of his (entertaining) ‘guts’ in a fashionable and publicly/generally accepted way. I’m obviously talking here only about the behavioral level as Adam’s cognitive and emotional abilities have blown my mind several times already.

@GLb 12:49, this is 6:57am: Now all that is something I can get behind, something I can endorse... not that you need an endorsement from me, you're working out what your working out just fine all by yourself :).

Anonymous said...

Oh, but an anonymous endorsement is always welcomed, don’t you know that? It might be irrelevant most of the time, but nevertheless welcomed. Hope we’ll charge and cross our.. thoughts again sometime soon, my (young?) friend ‘6:57am’. :-)

Nice,7:59pm/6:57am. I can't tell, but if we have a good 'history' together.. let's make a habit of it! :-)
Can I call you '6am'? Whether you already have a tag or not, if/when you want me to, I'll recognize you by '6am'. Now, you've been tagged (!) BUT you have the freedom to accept it or not. Isn't this a great deal?
:-) GLb

oooooo what fun GLb 8:53...mystery and intrigue, I'm in! But just so you know, sincerely and all kidding aside, sometimes I have a lot of time for 24/7, and sometimes, a lot of the time, I don't and am only checking in quickly at the most.

BTW, a good history... and not so young, but from what I gather from posts by some on this site, younger than many perhaps.

6am
:)

Anonymous said...

Hey, 6am.. doesn't matter. We might be both absent or both around, me silent, as most of the time, you anonymous, so no chance as well to smile to you.. or push some buttons.. :-)
However, if we are to 'bump' into each other again be prepared (for me/yourself) to play devil's advocate and spice up a little this good history you say we have... I love pickles after sweets and vice versa... Too much of.. anything drives me crazy. :-)
