New Version of 'Aftermath' for The Trevor Project

Adam's friend, Markus, who was at the party wrote this on his blog:

"Adam took to the mic last night to thank all of his friends and family on how blessed he felt for a wonderful year. He then introduce a new version of his song Aftermath that he co-wrote with Ferras, Alisan Porter, Ely Rise. Adam went on to say a portion of the remixed tune would go to The Trevor Project. A charity that deals with gay teens that are having trouble with their sexual orentaion and may be having thoughts of suicide. Adam has been a vocal supporter of this charity that speaks out against gay bullying."

When asked about it on Adamofficial forums, RCA Ed responded with this:

Re: Is a new version of Aftermath being released? RCAEd?

RCA Ed: "I was about to respond that I knew nothing about this, but actually recall something about it being mentioned in a Glam Nation DVD chain on which I was copied. I've been so focused trying to give birth to THAT thing, that I honestly discarded the note once I realized it was something unrelated to the final edit/mix, and not for me to worry about yet. But I expect there'll be some discussions about it this week and I'll fill you guys in if I can, once we get a more clear plan worked out. Cool?"

Listen to the Acoustic version of AFTERMATH here:

And a great performance of the song here:

Did u guys donate just to get a thank you from Adam? I donated cuz I thought it was gonna help out a lot of people and it made me feel good! If you are looking for a thank you from Adam, then maybe you donated for the wrong reason!! IMO!

What a beautiful song, what a beautiful human being. Ya know, Adam is not just an ordinary guy. We do have these superhuman beings here in this world with capabilities that go beyond what no one else can do, & I think Adam is one with a spirit & voice that does just that.
Adam is not just a superstar to his fans & we are not just his fans. Adam is our friend, our brother, he's like family. We care about Adam just like we would care about one of our own family members or just a very dear close friend.
For someone to bring together so many different people around the world, I've made so many friends & I miss them so much, I wish I could meet my new friends in person, but the only thing that brings us closer is Adam. What other celebrity, superstar artist can do that?
Adam is surrounded by so much love, because he gives so much love. I , & I'm sure others may agree, Adam doesn't realize how we really feel about him, how he truly has changed our lives.
Adam is a superhuman being in his way, & oh what beautiful gift he is to our world!!

Getting or giving thank you's is not an entitlement, it's expected.

I just copied and pasted this from the previous site so I am adding it here because there seems to be a lot of people who didn't give with there hearts. I hope all you discontented so called fans read it.

Oh My God what a bunch of cry babies, did you solely give because you expected a thank you from Adam? How charitable of you. Remember entitlement is not sexy. I hope Adam doesn't see any of these comments except those who gave with there hearts.

@funbunn40 thank you for your comments, I couldn't have said it better, you are always on the money. The rest of you crybabies give it a rest. I can't believe how quick you are all so ready to put Adam down. Give the man a break.

Adam has thanked via his Twitter.

They also put out 400 pics from the party which was really fun to go through. A lot of people with really nice teeth having fun.

wow. You donated for a "thank you"?

First of all, the goal is yet to be met. About $30,000 and 68 days still to go in the campaign. But that is not even the point.

Adam has NEVER failed to provide thank you's, kind supportive words or words that speak of love to even those people who have spewed hate and intolerance at him.

He put his name to a charity that he believes is important. Then he said...hey, wanna help? And we did...hopefully, from deep in our hearts.

Do you also expect the people living in developing nations who receive the clean water to write you a thank you card as well?

I gave because I want all people of the world to have clean water to drink, to decrease child mortality rates, reduce parasitic infections, and to make life better for someone else.

I don't need a thank you. I don't need anything in return. The feeling I had when I donated the money was good enough for me, and knowing that someone elses life will be better for it makes my heart feel full. That is MY thank you.

It truly saddens me to think that someone would give to a charity with the expectation of something in return. The reason for giving is just that - giving. Not receiving,...giving.

Adam is a class act. He has a heart that radiates love, peace, acceptance for all and he models that for us every single day.

To those are expecting a "thank you", it's time you look deep into your hearts and souls and learn just what "giving" means. Take as step back and think about someone's life who will be better because of this campaign. Take a step back and look at yourself in the mirror. Take a step back and know that someone on a continent very far away will soon be filled with joy as a well is drilled and they take their first sip of clean water, the first ever in their life. And feel the joy they feel. Feel the happiness they experience. Think of one less child dying in that village because the water is now clean. That is your thank you. That is all the thank you that any of us should need.

I only wish I could have given more.

No thank you is needed.

It' me again...@5:21

Just need to add that this new version of Aftermath is a perfect example of Adam's heart in action.

Thank YOU Adam. We love you for all you are.

@5;21, thank you for your astute comments!

Those people writing about "no thanks" from Adam can't be Adam's fans - they clearly don't know him and havent been paying attention to him.

He always thanks everyone. I don't know of anyone more appreciative - especially of his fans - than Adam.

And he has tweeted his thanks "for all the beautiful birthday wishes" - which I believe is what the donations were (and all the comments in the donation page were about). He then comments on how much was raised. What more do people want him to do? Prostrate himself before a camera and..... come to think of it that would be quite sexy....... *oh sorry - got distracted ;)*

In any case, all the thanks I've had from the charity itself, from his dad, from other fans, and from knowing my donation is going to help those people is more than enough for me.

Anyway - it has nothing to do with this topic. I think this is a fantastic idea. The song should have been released as a single ages ago and the charity idea is perfect. That's what the song is all about!! :)

Totally agree. If you truly are a fan of Adam you would know how appreciative he is and what a kind heart he has. It felt so good to give to this charity and that was enough for me but i never doubted that Adam would thank us in his own time. About Aftermath always been my favorite song and wish it would be released as a single, the message is so powerful

Adam already said thank you through his twitter. Not that he needs to do that, but of course for his selfish "fans" I guess it is good that he did

WOW I miss seeing him sing! When do we get to see him sing live again. They should release that song. It is so beautiful and the vocals are wonderful.

Anonymous said...

I really wonder what this new version is going to sound like. I wonder if the lyrics are changing at all. I can't wait! Maybe he will sing it at the Grammy's!

Anonymous said...

I think we'll get thank you's when campaign is over. It's not yet you know.

OMFG< sorry, but what exactly are we needing Adam to thank us for? For saving all those lives with fresh drinking water? Did Adam take the water away from them? Good Lord, it was Adam who gave up his birthday presents which I might add I would have loved to buy Adam apresent but instead he gave them up so that this charity could gain and help save lives so I did the one thing he asked for, I gave to help others! Why? Because Adam taught me that the best gift in life is the one you give! It is obvious that you who are posting demanding thanks with your entitlement are not Adam's fans, his fans are loving and generous and not entitled! So grow the hell up and ask yourself, what is your artist inspiring you to do? Never mind, I already know the answer! Thank you Adam for being you, unselfish, caring loving and always putting others including other artists before yourself! Love you SFM!!!

Beautiful video. Missed seeing and hearing him sing, reminding me of the excitement and richness of his voice and how breathtaking he is, watching him perform Aftermath. Uplifting... funbunn40

All the people who have been complaining about thank yous need to watch this vid over and over until they fall into the glitter and remember how to feel love. Wouldn't this song make a great theme for a PSA for the Trevor Project? It could be the sound under a spoken PSA, done by Adam for radio. All the major markets would probably air it. They have that time they have to fill, why not with that?

I wish the whiners would stop on the Thanx thing. Adam was rather busy over the weekend, having a birthday and all, and a god son arrive.
Woe betide the man takes time to spend with his family and friends.
A thankyou is not needed, we know he appreciates everything.
I am glad he took time out.
If you are so petty to want a tweet to say thanx then so be it.
Just remember Adam does have a life to, as some of you don't seem to do.

Oh, that live performance! Chills all over. Thank you Adam!

Some of you people who say you are "fans" can't possibly be true fans with all the criticizing I see all the time about all kinds of petty things. I choose to believe you are really just fans of other Idols pretending to support Adam while freely criticizing him at every turn. It's the only way I can wrap my mind around it.

I wish that I had ONLY come to this thread instead of the next one about Adam tweeting his thanks to his fans. This one is lovely and supportive of him and his message. This is a beautiful song, and one that speaks from Adam's heart, and reminds me why I am a fan. The next thread just makes me sad in some ways because it is full of subtle and not so subtle rebuke for him and in my opinion takes away from the fact that so much money was raised for a truly urgent cause. (Unfortunately anything I might say just sounds like I am making up "excuses" for him and am one of those fans who "idolize" him and think he can do no wrong...not so BTW... So I won't even try..I give up.) But I will say that Adam is working hard to spread this message of love and acceptance and that is what I choose to focus on. I refuse to criticize the timing of his thank you. I know we were all anxious to hear from him and we did. I heard has was working with someone yesterday on his new album and of course he also went to see his new godson Riff. Both important things as well. Thank you Adam for this beautiful song and the message that it shares.

I bought the Acoustic CD when it first came out and now I wish I had purchased more copies, because I am definitely going to wear the CD out. I love this version of AFTERMATH. It should have been a megahit.

Adam did an amazing job with the water charity.

He put the song with the proper Charity! why so petty? He didn't have to do anything like half of hollywood! But he chooses to do great things that have true meaning to him. Kudos to Adam!
