From Broadway.com:
With Grammy and Oscar winner Melissa Etheridge completing her limited engagement in American Idiot and Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong returning to the show, Broadway.com asked which 2011 Grammy nominee you'd like to see join the cast of of the rocking musical. The votes are in, and readers hope to see an American Idol contestant become an American Idiot, as season eight runner-up Adam Lambert landed in the top spot. Thirty-seven percent of voters said they'd like Lambert, who scored a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, to play sinister drug dealer St. Jimmy. The "For Your Entertainment" singer would fit right in on Broadway, thanks to his theatrical background. (He appeared in the Los Angeles productions of Ten Commandments, The Musical and Wicked among others.)
Following in second place came Best Album nominee Katy Perry. The "Teenage Dream" singer, who we'd cast as young mother Heather, earned 16% of votes.
Third place honors go to Perry's fellow Best Album nominee Lady Gaga. Twelve percent of fans said they'd like to see Gaga follow in Etheridge's footsteps by taking on the role of St. Jimmy, which is traditionally played by a man.

WOW! Sweet Adam's face has a beautiful and calm inquisitive expression in this picture...
@ aunt Adamluv,
I like the whole picture but where is his hair??? It's not that hairy thing around his neck, is it? Oh, well... if he is alergic to cats it can't be one, right?
Awesome! Two of my favorite people- Adam and Billie Joe Armstrong :D
KATY PERRY ?? Girl can't sing live. How you gonna auto-tune a Broadway show????
ADAM enigmatic image !!!!!!
HH.
Is it long term show as a few months on the roll show? So , this is mean Adam has to spend a lot of time on the stage for rehearsals. And we know that he is perfectionist and he will work twice harder than anyobdy else:) I don't know, if it possible to made the album, to prepare for next tour, and work on the stage 6-7 hours per day. Sure, it's gonna be Adam decision. I don't know, I never heard about this kind of voting. Probably I don't understand something.

very cool
At this particular time in his life, I would say he is too busy. So far he hasn't had time to even start his next album, which is more important. He might like this at another time. But I would venture a guess that he will turn it down.
Adam has such great style. I'm always excited about what look he could pull off next! he is such a chameleon.
I really like men who wear makeup! very sexy!
I love him dressed up, dressed down, dressed funky, dressed plain, dressed straight, dressed gay, dressed light, dressed dark, any old way he dresses, he IMPRESSES!
Obviously it would be great for Adam to appear in this show, but I think he has other priorities at this time in his life namely working on his second CD. He said he would take his time writing the songs and getting it done exactly the way he wants it to be. The Broadway stage is a hug commitment and something he might consider later in his career, not now.
ok, I knew less than nothing about this show, so as with a lot of other things, I'm discovering NEW things because of Adam. I looked it up and read a very detailed 'plot' of the shows story line. I'm still trying to digest it.
Has anyone SEEN this show?? Would this part really suit Adam? (of course if he's singing then hallelujah... he can sing anything we all know) BUT is everyone all fired up just because it would be Adam appearing (OMG on Broadway!) in SOMETHING??? or would it be a really good fit for him?.
Yes it won design 'Tonys' but are the songs good, is the part good? Or maybe the point is ADAM would be good... no matter what?
I know WE all think he can do anything with his mega-talent... **but seriously, Has anyone seen it? I'm really interested in the THAT aspect...
I'm SURE ratings (& tix) would go thru the roof if he did it as the fans would go nuts to see him...
Anyone--any thoughts?

This picture!!! Who dug this up out of where???
Well I am obviously blown away, there is just something about it. His is a breathing, living piece of Art.

@Icon, glad you finally decided to give your tag! Interesting picture? And I also dont believe at this time in his career that this would be a good move for him. Not now. But how flattering this vote was!!!!!! The other 2 peeps mentioned are for me a strange choice?
Lizard Eyes
That's the way I view Adam: He is a spectacular living, breathing, self-made, multi-faceted, ever-surprising work of art all unto himself :)
I youtubed to hear the music Adam would be singing in this part. I just don't think it's very good. When he returns to the stage it should be for a musically FABULOUS role--with arias that give you chills. The one that might lure him back (per Adam) is the role of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar.
My secret wish is that Elton John would create a Broadway show FOR Adam. Maybe he could collaborate with Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Adam seems like he lives for the stage. So hope he is back up on one for a big chunk of his 29th year. (Adam, hurry up and get that next album written!)
