I was also shocked at how tall Durbin is!!

OMG - I was scrolling down the page, waiting for a posed, smiling picture to come up - then I see the Adam Snarl?? I LOVE THIS MAN! He really is a ham who knows how to lighten up the moment.

And yes - James must be a monster if he's that much taller than Adam, jeeeeez!

Durbin must be about 6'5/6" to be that much taller than Adam who is 6'1". :-O

funny picture of Adam. James is doing very well, I noticed how well he did in the group song and dance.voted for him again this week. I wasn't surprized about the bottom three, It was emotional when Ashton had to go home and I could tell it was hard for JLo to tell her no save. I think David Cook's good-bye song was great.

JLo is getting on my nerves. And we thought Paula was emotional. Come one, Ashton was never that good. She was only there because Steven liked her. Get over yourself JLo. We know you're beautiful and you hate to disappoint anyone. But take your millions and do your damn job.

Did notice that James is tall, but I'm not sure this picture is reflective of their relative heights. Time will tell. Who knows. Adam may have been barefoot.

Adam's so cute with his Elvis snarl and James looks very nice and I'm sure glad to have met Adam. Adam always knows how to put people at ease and not take himself too seriously. He's magic. funbunn40

I figured James was taller than Adam by the way he towers over the tiny Ryan.

OT ... not fussed on J.Lo's new single/DVD. Her voice aint great, and she's got part of the Lambada melody in it (the best part of her song imo). Didn't know that was allowed but I know zilch about what's allowed and not allowed in songs. J.Lo is beautiful but I'm not a fan of her singing.

J.Lo and Steven give "performances" every night they are on. They seem to be acting the role as judges. Steven has his "lines" ready like Paula did sometime,all in all I'd be happy to have Simon, Paula and I guess Randy (not terribly fond of him) even Kara back. She was contentious and snippy to Simon, but as a singer songwriter gave good advice.

But maybe Steven and J.Lo will pay more attention to the contestants and less to themselves as time goes by. JM

I felt GREAT when I saw his sweet normal face, all sweet and clean and cheek kissable last night.

I know he looks heavenly with the full glam on but the makeup needs to suit the occasion. Next rock presentation I'll gladly welcome the stud back....................JAK

Glad to see they seem to like each other. James is not pretty like Adam, but he seems nice. I'm still not a fan of James as a singer, but I will admit his last song was done well.

wouldn't you be Anon 6:52AM, starstuck that is? If an aspiring singer/musician has a functioning brain in their head, they SHOULD BE startruck at Adam Lambert's TALENT alone, never mind the freaking incredible "packaging".

Charisma is the key ingredient that Adam has (and others just don't!). By the way, Adam's head is tilted in this pic. Check the shoulders (almost at same level).

Adam; your picture is breath taking. You know how to make the faces--lol. Adam you are always a winner and I would sure like to see more of you on TV. A great charming personality like yours should be on at least once a week. Go Adam!!!

Of course Adam was completely gracious, as always. But James is STILL imitating Adam's every move.

Did anyone notice that "shoulder roll with arms in airplane position" dance move James made last night at the beginning of the show, during the medley, right by the judge's table? Cut to disco night group medley in Adam's season... Adam did the same very distinctive move!

I'm not knocking Durbin as a person. But there's no question he's mimicking Adam, right down to the long pendant necklaces he's started wearing, and it's just annoying.

Next was James, who was too far for Adam to reach for a hug, so instead Sir Glambert reached out for a handshake. James was having none of it; he scooted off the benches to give Adam a proper two-armed hug. Flashbulbs went off, and Nigel Lythgoe swooped in to take a photo with his smart phone that he kindly waited until the show had aired on the West coast to tweet out. (It is pretty adorbs.) After stepping up into the benches to hug everyone else, Adam glided down to the judges table. He and J. Lo air-kissed, but she did not, unfortunately, did not teach him how to dougie. S. Ty, meanwhile, admired Adam’s necklace.

Anon 7:52 - Yes, I also noticed Durbin's dance move during the Michael Jackson medley and have to admit, I was a bit annoyed. That was an EXACT duplicate of Adam's move during a Michael Jackson group song in AI8! So, I think Adam's aware of the Glambert controversy over Durbin being compared to him and -- Adam, being Adam -- made a special attempt to show everyone that all is well and there is no reason for fans to be upset. He is ALWAYS a class act!

anon 7:01 I have to admit I would be a little starstruck of the Glam one. His talent is very intimidating and I would act a little fangirly. I really don't know how I would act, because I haven't been put in that situation. James has all the right to be smiling that big smile, because he is the presence of musical greatness.

They look like they could kick it and hang out. Exchange musical critiques along the way. Adam just wants everyone to do well and live their dreams. Class act!

Well, as someone who HAS met and hugged Mr AFL, I hope those newbies appreciate their contact with the glam one!!

Oh enough with the Durbin put down! Aren't you tired of repeating the same refrain over and over? Are you also annoyed with Adam copying Elvis'snarl, Steven Tyler's feathers and Ozzie Osbourne's black nail polish?
Live and let live, people. There is enough room for everyone. If you are aggravated with Durbin, then skip his appearances.

Love the pic! James is all happy and confused and not knowing if he should pose or something. And Adam goes right to a straight "Grr!" rock pose.

And could we now stop bashing James? Adam didn't have to pose with him, but he did it anyway. We don't have to like James' singing or anything, (and it was shitty for the producers to make James sing the "black or white"-snippet) but we can see that his schtick isn't copying Adam.

ADAM ! You are so F'in SEXY ! ! I like James also, I know he could become a good artist if he keeps up the good work.

Imitation can be flattery.
But I'm wondering what will happen if he wins. An Adam clone, but straight. Hmmmmmmm

James has some wonderful unique qualities and talents, but he's hardly a clone of Adam Lambert excepting only the orientation. IMHO.

If he wins, Adam might have a new opening act, but hoping next tour he takes the Canyons. BTW this was a fun story.

I am a huge, HUGE Adam Lambert fan, but come on, James is just finding his way. He is only 22 to Adam's 29. He doesn't have the experience Adam had during his Idol days. I think it is a form of flattery if James does copy any of Adam's moves. But it is NOT his fault if he can sing high notes as well. What I like is that he is restraining himself and that is good. Because we all know there is only ONE ADAM FREAKING LAMBERT!!!!

ps Was happy to see Adam do his "scream" last night. Loved his look, loves his performance, love HIM!!!

James is apparently on a rafter based on coverage of the picture taking at the 3 minute commercial break. He's tall, but he would have to be around 6'7" to tower over Adam like that, and I don't think he's that tall.

So Adam says he likes 70s music and james is more of an 80s music guy. Come on. There's more difference than that. James hasn't shown me anything yet, but I'm hoping he does. He seems like an interesting guy--married with a kid. So forget about it girls.

Du5bin is definitely taller than Adam. How much? Probably 2 inhes, depending on the type of shoes/boots they were wearing. Durbin is taller though. I have 3 sons and a daughter. Daughter is 5'11", 2 sons are 6'4", and one is 6'5". Daddy is 6'4". James IMO is not 6'4".

Plus ADAM was probably glad to be back at his old 'stomping grounds' ... sometimes ADAM acts like a little boy especially when he gets that 'gleam' in his eyes while he's smiling .... I don't think Durbin is taller than lambert. They seem to be about the same height, check it out when they stand next to Ryan. On this pic, james seems to be standing on the ledge/step to the couch and Lambert is stretchin for that pic. You can tell by the way he is puuling down his neck.

Look James can sing and has rAnge so wat he's a high rocker singer, nd now he's another Adam lambert? He hits the high notes, but you notice it takes alot of effort, very pitchy. Adam at 22 has far more range, nd more powerful voice. Well more then any artist of this generation at Adams age. Not just vocals but theirs no presense about him, also Adams technical range, pitch perfect, vocal range be vocal ability. James just sings, nd then screams in the end, which reminds u if Adam, but just because he's a form of high rocket, does that make him it? No give him a break, he's no Adam LAmbert, he's like a not very good version of Adam. I'm sure next year someone else well come along, that well have some range, scream omg al!!!! Lol, but it's Adams artistry that well transcend time, his enate ability to change the idea of a song, his showmanship, aura and stage presense. Seacrest looks tiny when standing next to Durbin; Seacrest is 5'8'.

Adam Lambert was the best contestant Idol ever had. His losing was unforgiveable and plain stupid.
To have the incredible James Durbin who is so reminiscent of Adam in quite a few dynamic ways is terrific. I don't care if Idol scouts went after an Adam clone or not. I love the guy and anticipate his performances almost as excitedly as I did Adam's. These 2 are the only performers who truly sing well, have an amazing range and always keep you entertained, interested and wondering what's next.

I love the music of both Adam Lambert and James Durbin. They sound very different to me.They only have in common an ability to hit high notes and a theatrical background to draw on to be enormously creative in their performances. The resemblence between them is that they have similiar ethnicity,Irish,English,just guessing frim their names.Adam's natural hair color is reddish, like James.I think they both have great eyes and are very handsome entertainers.
