Adam seems to be getting awards from all over the world, even the USA nomination was a huge honor. No wonder he had sold out concerts. This is just his first year with an album, OUTSTANDING

I don't dare share this news with my -former- Practically Perfect Husband. He's becoming increasingly sarcastic about my slight obsession with "you know who". If I open my mouth after leaving my computor chamber he snarls "Well, where is HE #1 Now?????Kosovo...The Ukraine...Lapland...Uganda...Patagonia?

When I chide him on his behavior and remind him that he watched Season 8 and thought Adam was great he says "Yes, but I didn't know I would have to live with him the rest of my life!"

He refuses to listen to FYE even though I know he would like it......He just says when HE is #1 in THIS country I'll listen.

One of these days I will feed him the poison mushrooms! We've had 54 good years, that's enough!...................JAK

P.S.
.......I forgot to mention he himself is half Hungarian and has lots and lots of relatives there who may have voted for "you now who"

He will win many awards from around the world. Hungary has very good taste!

I am half Hungarian and I adore Adam Lambert. Adam has achieved such great things in the past year with his touring and his album. He has won quite a few awards now and is loved all over the world!
He is just absolutely amazing and such a SUPER STAR!!! This is just the beginning so i'm so glad that he can still have a burrito and a beer at the airport and go shopping at Whole Foods. Won't be long before he can't do that although, maybe he just always will. He's so real!

@JAK....your post was hilarious! I really laughed hard when reading your post about your husband and your "slight obsession with you know who!" How many of us here have that same "slight obsession"I wonder? Well, I sure do and I have to take a lot of grief from my family too (even though they watched AI S8 and saw our GlamRockGod in the making!) They just didn't think my obsession would last 2 years and counting LOL!

Hopefully, we will hear about many, many more awards for Adam because he is THE BEST THERE IS! HaHa, I'm not at all prejudice, am I?

none of this suprises me one bit! Congrats Adam and all those who worked on this amazing piece of work!

@JAK Your article is very funny.
I am so happy for Adam, so proud for him!
I just confuse about "slight obsession":) I think we have legal addiction and our husbands will send us to "Adam Management" rehab sessions sooner or later!

Thank you for your compassion, I'm sorry you also suffer from family derision. It isn't easy but I carry on bravely and have informed my two daughters that when my "time" comes......I'm 75 and in lousy shape......I want to be cremated with all my Adam cds.

I won't leave them behind to be ignored!...JAK

JAK, we are very fortunate to be enjoying the incredible talent of a true artist, his voice and presence more beautiful contemporary music and a great human quality.
We are a very rational and sensible fans to good art, because this brilliant young man is deserving of the authentic character of a superstar. JAK ADAM your taste for shows that you are a very sensitive person and I hope you continue to enjoy great art fully. ADAM gives us the wonderful gift of music. What an honor!

@JAK You are hilarious!!!!!! I can't stop to laugh!
However, I am not suffering from family derision:) As a matter of fact, my husband likes Adam, he thinks that Adam very talented boy.
Also, it was my husband idea that Adam would be perfect James Bond:)

delilah5 Those posts from JAK were very funny. Like you my husband is a big fan of Adam especially after going to his concert. I had to beg him to come with me but then he loved it. My kids really like Adam but they give me a lot of flack about being obsessed and addicted. I tell them there are a lot of worse things to get addicted to. They better get used to it because the addiction is becoming worse or should I say betterer!

Fellow Obsessives

Your words cheer me and you are indeed fortunate in your mates compassion. Once my mate was....BA....Before Adam. Many years ago I was in an accident and broke my leg in 6 places. Other than all the "personal" things he did for me....he saved my sanity. Came into my room and threw travel catalogs on my bed and said "When you can walk again...anywhere in the world you want to go!" Since he had no desire to go I called up my fellow 45 year old best friend from high school days and said "Wanta go to England. Ireland,Scotland and Wales with me?"

It took me a year to be able to make it....determination and codeine helped.

What a sweet guy (he used to be), little did he know what he unleashed....I went every 2 years till I had covered 9 countries before leg surrendered. I now have a limp and fantastic memories. Oh shoot I might as well put up with him I'm too old to train a new one.....JAK

You are one lovely lady....I enjoy your posts.

My husband liked Adam on AI, but seems to go off him the more I like him...but as we were driving the other day I had Adam playing in the car (as I often do), and I did notice that hubby was tapping along...and my elder daughter (who doesn't get Adam at all), was singing along to acoustic sleepwalker. baby steps, but its a start!

JAK - you rock my world!!! So glad you found us and joined the party - you are keeping us laughing!

Since you recently joined us, I can tell you that many of us have discussed our obession with Adam on this site. After about 9:30pm, my husband knows better than to try and talk to me - that's "me and Adam time" - and has taken to feeling sorry for himself and going to bed early. :) I could skim the 24/7 Adam news in about 4 minutes, but it's the comments/conversations with the other obsessed fans out there that keep me up at night! Nobody I know is as obsessed with Adam as I am, so it helps to have a "support group". :) Thanks, y'all!

@JAK & everyone! Ya'all are a wonderful group to be with. It reminds me of being with some very special friends of mine.
I'm a wife & mother of one, & I share my Adam experiences by myself. My daughter might enjoy Adam once in awhile, but not much.
Congratulations to you ADAM!!! I'm so happy that you're loved all around the world!! YOU deserve it BB!!! MWAH! K

Fellow campers I've been awake 20 hours now I'm heading for my cabin...I call it Sleepwalker cabin. Good night.......JAK

P.S. KW if you are lurking you're welcome to join us.

My husband will ask me whenever I'm on my laptop" any news of Adam lately":)

Right now, I feel like a Grumpy-dwarf accidentally landed in a support group for Dopey/Happy-dwarfs. While I do need a (group) hug, I might 'bite' anyone who gets too close to me... (I must have skipped a glam 'warm-up group' or something)...
I do my best to convince people that the smile in the corner of my mouth comes from sarcasm, not mere amusement. I hope is working.

GLb

PS: I could audition for a virtual husband-figure on 24/7... That's quite a disturbing thought!

I'm 100% Hungarian. When he got nominated I was not very optimistic but last night I watched the award show just for him. When his category came up and they were listing the nominees I started smiling more and more with the strange feeling in the back that he might actually even win, and tatata!!! :-))

Anonymous said...

@JAK you are a super lady. I have even told my friends about you. You are an inspiration. I have a very understanding boyfriend, but if he starts moaning about my Adam time I will take those poison mushrooms under consideration.
By the way, you are all super ladies. Group hug!:)
Isn´t it strange that Adam gets awards in other countries but not his own?

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS Adam on winning the Fonogram Hungarian Music Award - SO WELL-DESERVED!!!

obsession? that's putting it lightly. i love that adam is setting the whole world on fire, just like he set my heart on fire with love for him.

I'm from Hungary. And now very much i'm happy. I know that this is the small prize of a little country, but I can be glad about all honours, which are related with Adam. I am so proud of Adam and the Hungarian fans too!

First of all Happy Birthday JakeL!

Secondly, JAK, thanks for making it real here. I think we just need to tell our hubbies we are going to the computer for 'group therapy'. He doesn't need to know anymore that it is all about Adam! It's about our friendship here too. Yes we must admit we have a problem and are coming here for therapy. Works for me.

I too can't talk about Adam around my hubby. He just doesn't even know of my obsession. I have also stopped talking about Adam so much around my 17 and 18 year old sons too because they just roll their eyes though they do like some of Adam's stuff. I mentioned on a previous thread that when I went to pick up my eldest from college one day last week, I had FYE playing and he rolled his eyes and asked if he could change it to another song. I said 'sure' and he changed it to "Pick U Up' which is my personal fav and he cranked it up and we rocked out together! Then hit repeat and we rocked out again!

JAK, I have some very serious business to discuss with you. It is about when you leave this world to go see the man upstairs. You mentioned that you wanted to be cremated with Adam's cd's. Might I offer a bit of advice?
I was thinking about those poor CD's never being listened to again. Perhaps you could buy a second set of CD's. When you are gone, your loving family would most likely pick up one of those CD's (that you so lovingly tucked under your pillow) and want to play it because it reminds them of you. Now, we all know what happens when other non-fans listen to one of Adam's songs...especially one that strikes a particular chord. SUDDENLY THE FAN IN THEM IS UNLEASHED! Now Adam doesn't LOSE a fan, it stays status quo!

So, what do ya think?

JAK - you are priceless!! SOO funny!!

I almost had a heart attack when my hubby told me that he actually LISTENED to ADAM's CD and admitted he has a great voice.

You see Adam's cd is ALWAYS in my car cd player and once my hubby had to take my car and BAM!! there was Adam's music blaring in the car!!

He did not like the over produced songs on the cd though. Now if he sees that Adam is on tv (ex. Jay Leno) he will bring my attention to when it airs. Astonishing!! (of course I already know when Adam will be on ... but I let my hubby think he is "keeping me informed".)

He still loves to make fun of me that I went to the Glam Nation show here in Arizona. (Worst venue in the entire state and a woman passed out in front of me because it was soo hot !!!)

Adam just makes me soo HAPPY and BLESSED that I can witness and be a devoted fan to his amazing talent and career.

Being able to share stories with everyone here and our opinions is soo much fun!! We are all a bunch of great people - who are lucky enough to be able to meet through our love for Adam!

Another Happy B-Day to Jake L! We are an Adam happy group in need of intense therapy to the outside world, but I'm extremely happy to be in this fantastic support group of Adamholics! I hope I never get better or recover! It's too much fun here and I'm grateful for my glamsistahs and glambros!... @ JAK Love your posts and humour! Your son-in-law is a keeper! The rest will follow! Brainwashing takes time and Adam's talent will win out! funbunn40

Nope, I don't think it would work out with Adam starring as James Bond. Oh sure he could look all gorgeous in a tux, and maybe even convincingly shoot the bad guy, with a cold sinister brows down stare but you know he couldn't resist flashing that sweet smile that makes him look like a 14 year old asking "did I do good?" Nope, JAK

I've been giving this virtual husband figure some thought. Would this figure be capable of rolling his eyes????No, good!

How about would he leave the toliet seat up??? No, good I want one too........JAK

We don't think of it as a small prize from a small country we're just happy Hungary loves our boy, they have good taste.

And speaking of taste, my mother in law was Hungarian and introduced me to the joys of sour cream and REAL paprika and veal paprikash (spell ?) and cabbage rolls, etc. etc.

Thank you Hungary.........JAK

I'm afraid you're daydreaming....Those second set of cds would never be heard....My ASH disposal has been long planned (it came to my daughters on our first trip to Ireland together)landing at Shannon airport I said "My soul feels at home here".

That was it, their plans in place. Their father will once again buy them tickets for their 3rd and last trip to Ireland. They'll sprinkle a bit of me in Galway Bay ( the eldest girls favorite place) and then a bit of me in Kilkenny (the youngest's favorite) and the rest in the meadow at Blarney Castle in Cork......MY favorite place and as close to heaven as I may ever get.

It's a perfect plan, I can hardly wait! But first I have to hear Adam's next album....I'll want to take it with me, you know!

Blessings on you all and a Happy St.Patrick's Day on the 17th. I'm tired and a little punchy, talking about Ireland does that to me, it's past midnight----again. I'll go to bed before I start singing "Danny Boy". JAK
