How can this voting mess get fixed? There are the Clay. kris, durbin, and Adam haters going against Adam, plus folks who hate the Glamberts and gays, going against Adam. I suppose most artists have a few extreme (to say the least) fans who apparently create their own scenarios where they imagine that winning, or being the best, is everything at all costs..even if the two artists in question are not in actual competition with each other in any way, shape, or form, as these two (Adam and the other artist who certainly had nothing to do with this nastiness) obviously are not. It is unfortunate that competitive reality shows could spark the win-at-all-costs mentality in a few fans (we've seen it before..), especially if that fan already harbors some hate in their soul and heart for another artist who they somehow think is threatening to their favorite AI contestant, or some other similar show, and who happens to be gay in addition to that, perhaps sparking even more hated, and a warped sense of purpose and mission.. It must be very difficult for Adam to ignore some of the things that are thrown at him, and in this case he could not. I can't even begin to imagine what possessed this person to do what he or she did, because no one in their right mind would do that, I would hope anyway. Yes, they tracked one twitter acct. from another existing one..with a known association as a fan of the other artist. Not too bright on the part of the perpetrator of this obvious hate crime, which is what it truly was..But then intelligence probably never entered into it in the first place. I don't know if the other site was shut down. I would hope so. At the same time, it is very easy to just set up another site, from a different computer/email address, it would seem.Let's hope it ends there. Just very, very sad, and rather frightening. I (and we here) personally celebrate our man Adam, who is all about love and diversity. I cannot imagine turning that love into hate, for the sake of trying to discredit or destroy the life and career of another artist. i just don't understand it at all. Absolutely so true of so many things. It seems that if a lie is stated as the "truth" enough times, then it becomes the truth for those who want it to be the new reality. The "birth-er" mentality comes to mind..It never ceases to amaze me the things I hear people state as the truth, when I know for sure that the reality is the opposite. For instance, the politician in the midwest, in the midst of the national budget deliberations (specifically regarding health care funding), I read about recently who blatantly and unashamedly lied about Planned Parenthood, stating that 90% of their budget went to Abortions and recommending them..And when called on it (closer to 10% I think..), his spokesperson stated that those public statements weren't "actually meant to be factual". I kid you not. Lying is apparently the new "truth" in some circles, if it accomplishes the desired outcome. The internet is just a much more efficient means of spreading lies, and in some cases, hate associated with those lies. (By the way, not advocating abortion..just using that as an example of lying about something and then publicly admitting the lie and basically saying "So what?")
