I agree that all the numbers we see for Adam's twitter followers and those posted for views of IIHY on VEVO are terrific. But we need those numbers to translate into album sales when it comes out this fall. Hopefully the early release of the first single will get listeners so excited that they will be clamoring to buy the album when it is released. There is such anticipation for this second album that I hope/Iknow it will be everything the fans have wanted and that Adam wanted in its production. I think I read that the sophomore album often makes or breaks an artist, so let us all be certain that this puts Adam Lambert into the category of superstar status. I know that Adam has fans all over the world, but I think he needs to gain more of a fanbase right here at home. Those of us who are already devoted fans have to educate others about this talented, self-confident, articulate, dynamic performer. If the album is out in Nov, it will be a great Christmas gift or just a gift for anyone who enjoys listening to music.

The Twitter followers mean that he is gaining in popularity, and more people are interested in what he has to say, and while it doesn't guarantee that all of his followers will buy albums,obviously, it means they might. I just choose to be excited about it because it means people are interested in him and its just fun. This fandom thing isn't all about money or album sales, although I wish him great success with his next album, its also about being happy for Adam with every positive thing that happens for him, big or small, whether its a new album, a Grammy nomination, or more Twitter followers. Its just another little indicator/barometer of his success.

By the way, now 1,100,283. : )

glitzylady: In order to continue enjoying "this fandom thing", and (anon 7:40) to continue having "a little fun here" Adam needs to be a successful recording artist -- by selling tons of CD's. If that doesn't happen, no more albums, no more touring, no more fandom, no more fun. Yes, it's good to have a positive attitude, but it's also good to be realistic. As Adam would say, "Just keepin' it real."

Okay, getting serious here..(Darn...) Back from the frivolity and optimism and back to "reality". : ) I know all that: its obvious and a "given". I've been closely following Adam's career since day one on Idol, and have agonized over his oops's, and worried (a lot) about his career right after the AMA's, cheered his triumphs, which are many, and know exactly what his challenges are, including needing some hit songs and album buyers, in order to make it big, and to continue his rise to the top. I also want others to see what an amazing talent Adam possesses and I want him to be wildly successfully this next time around. I am extremely realistic, I live in the real world (most of the time anyway, except when I'm in Adam Lambert Land) and know it's a crap shoot in the world of music. But I still choose to be optimistic and keep it light, in addition to "Keepin' it Real", which we sometimes have to do. Sometimes things get really "heavy" here so something as "light" as talking Twitter followers is a relief! I've been through a whole lotta "reality" with Adam as a fan, and I get everything you are saying. Just having fun here. Not much else going on right now so why not? I'm not disagreeing with you at all, just wanted to let you know you aren't telling me anything I don't already know. Its a tough world out there for recording artists, and I hope Adam is one of the ones who make it big..In the meantime, I celebrate his little victories, along with the big ones. Waiting for some big ones with the release of his new single and new album.....for now, its the little ones.....

Thank all of you for your kind words and warm welcome home! Oh, home sweet home! I have lots of things to tell you fellows, so does Icon, but please give me a couple of days to rest on my own bed and make myself comfortable in my own house... well, I can't complain at all because I found everything clean and smelling good... and I have neighbours, friends, my golden couple of guests and my Icon taking a true good care of me. Even yet ill and unemployed I'm feeling such a lucky Glambitch!!!
