Katy, in my opnion, is very annoying. I don't get why Adam's friends with her. I heard she's homophobic too. She has a song that says "You're so gay" and a stupid song that sings about girls kissing other girls for attention, then she calls out a guy she used to have a crush on by saying "YOU"RE SO GAY". Ugh. She's so hateful.

Fathers Day is celebrated today, in Finland. The second sunday of June. :)

Adam just made a simple comment that the new vid was hilarious and it is. I just saw it for the first time on another site. It's for the teens, to get their attention. Most of her songs are for the young crowd anyway. They are the ones listening to her and watching her vids. So let's not make a big production as to Adam's comment. At 3:59pm(anon), you don't know anything about Adam's friendship with Katy or whether she is homophobic, so don't pass judgment. She may be annoying to you so forget about her and just focus on Adam, his talent and his love for and acceptance of so many people.

Katy got a rave review when she played here this past weekend. One of the raves was that the reporter was able to take his kids to the concert. He said she was flirty and naughty without being overtly provocative.

I don't think it's just for the tweens. I'm 43 and I was having flashbacks to high school the whole time. She is clearly using nostalgic images from the '80s. OT: I am hoping that Sauli has tied up all the loose ends, and also was home for Finlands Fathers day today.Hope he can come back to LA, maybe this week. Adam was at the Gay Pride festival,it was A 3 DAY EVENT, the big Parade was today, they were expecting half a million people to show up, straight and gay. Nice to hear that many people can mingle peacefully.

After watching the video, all I could think of is the cover story in the 6.12.11 PARADE magazine... personally, I see no humor in promoting underage drinking - yet, I know

I like Katy Perry..she's a good friend of Adam's, and I LOVED her support of him on Idol with her Adam Lambert cape! How could anyone forget that?! Not a fan of every single song, but I do have her albums (and I'm over 30...).. Whenever I hear "Firework" I think of Adam..because he IS one.. She is NOT homophobic: her song "I Kissed a Girl" was meant to be ironic and to make a statement...Not everyone has to like her or her music, but to say she is anti-gay is completely wrong..and misinformed..Her life journey is very interesting, if you have read anything about her. She started out singing Christian music..and is still "religious" in her own way.

Adam said he thought her video was "Hilarious", not meant to be serious, and not rocket science...and not too deep obviously. "Glee" is more controversial than this video, in my opinion, and I watch "Glee", and so do many teens... I have to agree with Adam..it was funny.. A lot of "inside humor" that teenagers probably wouldn't get..because many of the stars in it are not exactly teen icons these days..And there are a lot worse music videos out there...

An aside: I said OMG! when I realized that was Hanson, the former boy band, in the video: I took my niece to a Hanson concert about 10 years ago..a whole arena full of high pitched screaming tween and teen girls, and my niece cried when she realized she wouldn't be meeting the Hanson boys in person.: Tween angst. I can now relate: I haven't met Adam yet either! And now I'm the one doing the screaming... ; )

I thought it was pretty fun, don't know why people look for such deep meanings in things...although I don't understand how if she got changed at the party and took the braces things off, did her hair etc how she ended up back in the clothes etc she started in???

But she is using the word ”gay” to bash and insult those meterosexual men, who in her opinion shouldn’t wear certain clothes or wear makeup etc. So I have two issues with that song. First, calling someone gay as an insult promotes in my opinion hatred and ignorant attitudes against gays. Second, bashing someone because of the way they look or because of their style (like she is doing in the song), is in my opinion bullying.

Katy Perry might have gay friends and maybe she isn’t homophobic. But she is very ignorant and a bully. And I am surprised why Adam likes her so much.

Maybe Katy Perry and Adam Lambert are friends because they both have an odd attitude and fixation towards Bill Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel. Katy has at least two times dedicated the song “Ur so gay” to Tokio Hotel, and I guess referring to Bill, because he’s the only one wearing make up.

And Adam had a celebrity crush on Bill and basically tried to out him ála Perez Hilton way when saying “he’s scared of me, being in the closet can be scary…”.

I think Katy Perry's video WAS HILARIOUS! It made me laugh will all the 80's stuff, etc. Let's lighten up people. Have you seen some of the videos out there? They are totally gross in my opinion. Katy's video was meant to be funny and not a training video for young adults. I'm sure everyone can get a laugh out of it without going on drugs and getting drunk!

Oh, why has no one thought of that before? Adam Lambert and Katy Perry are bonding because of their fixation towards Bill Kaulitz. I´ve just started to miss those Tokyo Hotel crays and woops, here one pops up and share her/his wisdom. We are so blessed.
I never understood the hatred towards Katy Perry. She seems like a funny girl, more real than Gaga. She was the "photographer" in that skit with Adam and Jake Shears, so I don´t think you can accuse her of being homophobic. I´m not into her music but I like Firework, especially in this video, for some odd reason:-)

I'm 75 and I thought it was a hoot. My view point has changed. In the 80's I was the Mom trying to keep 2 teenage daughters from going to parties like that....unsuccessfully. But they lived thru it safely so now I can laugh...JAK

When Rebecca Black's Friday became this huge youtube hit, I thought it was pretty funny how people were making fun of her and bashing her, because lots of artists nowadays kind of sound a lot like her. And in my opinion, specially Katy Perry is one of those artists. So seeing Rebecca Black in Katy Perry's video is funny and ironic to me, but I'm not sure if it's funny and ironic in the way Katy Perry herself intended it to be.

I am one of those teenager lived through those parities in the 80's. Parties in 80's is mild compare to what you can have nowadays. Yeah miss all these craziness in the earlier life. I have a feeling Katy will be in comedic movie one day just like her hubby and you known all how she can sing. At least she is pretty to look at. :)

I totally agree with the previous statement from HK fan. I have often commented about the fact that Adam's management/record company dropped the ball with FYE and releasing other singles. It was such a great compilation of songs that I am sure they could have released any one of them as another single. I just don't get it. Not to hear the greatest talent in the music business today more often on the radio with another release is very frustrating. There is such "garbage" that you hear everyday and such horrible, degrading videos seen on those music channels. I know they are looking for quality rather than quantity from Adam(and not overexposure) but there is so much quality in Adam's songs that you just wonder why we haven't heard more from him on the music scene. Having said that, we are all waiting anxiously for this second album and I hope it is promoted to the hilt and earns him a Grammy nomination and win that he so deserves.

This was a fun video. Loved it!!! My baby sister and nephew were only a couple of years apart. In high school my parents went out of town and my baby sister had a party. My nephew was on the drag and given an address to a great party. His response was "OH No thats my Grandma's." It was a party much like this. Oh for the 80's and for me the 70's.

She started out as a christian artist Katy Hudson and then switched to main stream. She is only 27. Katy is not just popular in US, She is very popular in Canada too. Her songs and music video always on the top of POP chart. She has a pretty face with a nice figure. Her songs are very catchy and upbeat. Most people just want an eye candy entertainment after work and she delivers it. Her voice is not that important and can always be fixed by autotune.

If you watched the Tony awards last night you might have seen the "It Gets Better" blurb from Dan Savage...with our Adam saying "there are a ton of us out there". I remember when he said in high school he didn't know anyone else who was gay. My husband was upstairs and he wanted to know why I had yelled "Yes!" when an ad was on. Ha.
I was away from the computer yesterday and just read the thread about fan4fun losing her job..her illness...her bravery.

Unfortunately, great sales don't always reflect great talent. We all know that. Genuinely talented people (Adam among them) often have a harder time. The listening public doesn't have much of a discerning ear. I don't even know who Rebecca Black is, but it always infuriates me when a mediocre or non-talented person sells millions and gets rich and has huge success for being a big nothing. Our kids are close in age, my daughters are turning 49 and 52.....same scenario. We had to go out of town when they were 17 and 19 for a family emergency. They assured us they'd be fine and sensible. When we got home the house was spotless, dinner waiting, fresh linens on beds, etc. My husband said "See I told you they'd be fine". I said "we'll see".

The next morning he called me to garage to help him with trash cans....first time ever. He explained that the neatly tied up trash bags were filled with beer and wine bottles. With effort we dragged them to the curb.

Our lovely girls had kitchen and laundry duty and 11 p.m. curfew for a month. ^o^ At the time it didn't seem funny.....but they still refer to it as "the best party ever"!!!!...........JAK

Well, KP has done it again. A summer anthem the kids will go nuts for! The video was VERY funny...great cast.

@ JAK,My girls are 10 months apart(June 22 they will both be 50, the oldest 51 in August)I have the same story. Hubby's Grandma passed away and we had to be gone a few days. Same m.o. House sparkling, we had a major snow storm, but when the snow melted, found trash bags on side of house filled with the evidence.They still owe me grounding time! I could write a book! I also have tales to tell about my innocent, but adventurous times in the 50's. I very much enjoyed Katy Perry's video! It brought back such fun memories! I am one of 7 kids with a strict Catholic upbringing, but am the only child who had kegger parties every time my parents left town. You had better believe I had that house spotless before and after those parties. (I honestly don't remember where I put the garbage though. Now, you have got me thinking!) My parents never did bring it up, so me thinks I pulled it off all these years!

As for Adam not having many more releases off of FYE, I believe there are no good excuses! RCA is completely at fault. There are so many songs that are so much better than most out there.
