I'm not sure if someone has posted this link to Adam's AI Season 8 "Confessionals" (and I apologize if they have..). This blogger has gathered all of them in one spot for easy viewing, so thanks to @devenlane on Twitter for these. I had never seen them before and don't know how I missed them! REALLY fun and informative little informal and intimate feeling chats with Adam in the "Confession Booth" in the AI Mansion...If I didn't already love this guy, I would after listening to these... : )

Both of them adorable.
That little girl of Monte and Lisa has some long legs there - she's going to be a knockout.
Miley Cyrus a role model? maybe not recently..

Another award for Adam..

"Adam Lambert, Facebook to be honored at Los Angeles Equality Awards"

LOS ANGELES -- Equality California will honor singer and songwriter Adam Lambert, a San Diego native, and Facebook at this year’s annual Los Angeles Equality Awards.

Presented by AT&T, the awards will take place Saturday, Aug. 13, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

“We’re thrilled to honor Adam Lambert and Facebook whose work has been a catalyst for social change and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality,” said Roland Palencia, Equality California's new executive director. “Their courage and leadership in entertainment and social media have helped Californians become more supportive of LGBT rights.”

Lambert gained international fame as the runner-up on "American Idol" in 2009. Since launching his solo career as a singer and songwriter, he has been an outspoken and fearless role model for LGBT youth nationwide.

Lambert also participated in the “It Gets Better” campaign with the hope of helping LGBT youth overcome bullying. His new song “Aftermath” will benefit the Trevor Project, a national suicide-prevention hotline for LGBT youth.

“I am so honored to be invited to and recognized by the Equality California event,” Lambert said. “It’s a pivotal time in the progress of equal rights and I'm very grateful to be the subject of such broad visibility. I strive to lead by example by making no apologies for or withholding my identity as a proud and comfortable gay man. I strongly believe that ALL people have a fundamental right to love who they want to love and if they so choose, have their union recognized by the laws of this country regardless of sex, age, race or religious affiliation. I am hopeful that we are getting closer everyday to this idea of Equality.”

The rest of the article is here, with additional information about the awards and about Equality California....

Congratulations to Adam. He is so deserving.

THANK YOU LP!!! I wanted to make sure the right person got the right credit. I looked and looked over the last several threads and could not find your post-somehow missed it, so I'm glad you were 'close by'!! I LOVED that video. I might add that there is no comparison between Michael Jackson and Adam Lambert in that area, ahemmmm, if you know what I mean...wink, wink!!

Thanks glitzylady for the AI Confessionals link. never saw those before. Absolutely adorable! I especially like when he says something like this: "I'll try to be myself and I'll try not to overthink it". I think that's important, to be who you are and not think too much what other people think of you. It's easier said than done though. But I think Adam's leading to way just fine. And it's so great he got that LA Equality Award.

Most deserving honor! Congratulations Adam! Somewhat curious. Are any of the other people on this list gay? If not, why are they are this list? Adam is a great role model because he walks the walk. It's who he is, and we love it. I am sure he is opening doors for others, and that is a good thing.

Congrats Adam - You are so deserving of this honor! I am so proud of you as are your millions of fans. Rock on!

Doesn't Demi Levato have addiction issues? And Miley Sirus? Seriously? These are ROLE MODELS? Congratulations, Adam, but what kind of a poll was this? You do not belong in the same category as any of these people. Your path, and your struggles are very, very different.

@glitzylady ...
THANX for posting the article about ADAM being honored at the LA Equality Awards along with FB ... I just came here to post it but I see you got here first ... I left a comment below the article in the San Diego G&L News ... I think it would be nice if a lot of us did the same thing. That would VALIDATE what a leader ADAM is & how supportive his fanbase is of the worthy charities/causes ADAM urges us to donate to. Well ... speaking of supporting ADAM ... I'm off to faxo to VOTE for AIOTM & Mr. Twitter ... Love 'n Light

Several nice things happened today. First, I received an autographed picture of Adam requesting one in a letter I had sent out on March 26; it had nothing to do with the Charity:water campaign. This was just a letter I had written after watching the GNT video numerous times and wanted to send some good thoughts his way about it and him as an amazing performer. And now I just read that Adam has been voted the best role model for young people. He is such an inspiration for everyone, not just young people. This was so nice to read with all the positive comments that followed. And the LA Equality Award is such a positive affirmation of Adam, who he is and what he believes in. His message of love, understanding, respect and acceptance is one that should be followed by all of us in a world that needs it so much it seems. Congratulations to Adam who is so deserving of these latest honors. All in all it's been a good day.

OT - We now have a new poll to vote for Adam. Billboard 2011 Mid-Year Music Awards. We have to enter his name under "Other" in 3 separate categories. (1) Best Style (2) Most Anticipated Album (3) Best Festival Performance. Thanks for your usual overwhelming cooperation. That's why we are Glamberts. We are here to help Adam in all phases of his career.

Anonymous said...

That's nice, really, congrats and all, but I do hope there are similar polls (and respondents!) outside the showbiz... I pray for the young people to find role models in other professional areas also... maybe in their own families, why not?
Otherwise, we have failed as a species.

GLb

PS: Sorry, I'm desperately looking for my pink glitter glasses these days... I know "it's not that deep" but what can I say, I'm addicted to.. depths. I'm going to dive on my own now. Have a nice fiesta!

@The Dark Side,
this poll had nothing to do with being a 'gay' role model.
Flecking Records is the onlu UK that is supportive of Adam, they write about himm often and are very complimentary. They seem to be the only ones trying to get his name out there.

Thank you @Donna for sharing our comments with your family. We are your 'other' family. I can only hope that in the coming days, weeks, months, years, we can Pick U Up (in Adam's words) whenever you need us.

God Bless You and your family,

Thank you Flecking Records for being the leader in knowing and promoting one of the greatest singers in the world.

Donna,
So sorry to read about the passing of your brother. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

Adam is indeed a role model for everyone, not just young people. BTW, the little girl is Monte's daughter Ariel.

glitzylady said...

I really appreciate Flecking Records efforts to promote Adam in the UK and have expressed that to them many times. They and another site or two are the only ones that I am aware of who work to get Adam's name out there. Its very strange that he gets so little notice there. Its even more strange because Adam is such a fan of so many bands and singers from the UK. Eventually they'll catch on..But in the meantime, thanks to FR for keeping Adam's name out there.

Adam is such a great role model for all of us, not just just the young as @anon 5:43 PM previously said. He is kind, generous, loyal, diplomatic, loving, maintains and treasures his family ties and his long-term friendships, is true to himself, is honest to a fault, perceptive, courageous, intelligent, open to new ideas, supports diversity, is firm but gentle in his admonitions to his fans to calm down once in a while : ), and truly appreciates and loves his fans. He is also very well spoken and conducts himself so well in any given circumstance. He is someone who I aspire to be, and would be honored to be his friend, or his mom. Of course he isn't perfect..but he is a good man and someone I would want the young people in my family to look up to as a role model.

Congratulations Adam on winning both the LA Equality Award and the Best Role Model poll. It's been a wonderful week so far in Adamland. :-)

My daughter adores Adam, and with darn good reason. She knows him and loves him.

Do you remember when comments were made about keeping children away from Adam, after the AMA's. Well, nothing made us madder! The total and utter garbage written at that time was so absurbed and ridiculous as the media twisted and turned. Adam Lambert is an awesome role model for kids without any hesitation. He shines and anyone who says otherwise has never had the priviledge to see just how beautiful a man he is.
