Kris Allen, who beat Lambert out for the Season 8 American Idol title, is also quoted in the show, saying that Idol producers knew he was the opposite kind of artist and person from Lambert.
"He was the guyliner guy with the makeup on, and I was the guy next door that plays his guitar and sings the love songs to his girl. The show knew exactly what they were doing, obviously. They wanted to pit us against each other."

They always looked like they had so much fun together. Adam can draw in the guys for bromances. Sauli did the same with Niko. They both seem to have those great personalities that are fun to be around. What a great smile on Adam in this gif!
Those two were great friends on the show and hopefully now. I am anxious to see VH1s BTM, and see what Kris has to say. Plus, I know Kris had admiration for Adam's talent, and it will be interesting to see what he has to say about his rival/friend on the show. Adam has had nothing but good things to say about Kris. Class acts...both of them.
I love this gif. I totally respect Kris for his friendship with Adam when others were not so kind. Kris is carving out a nice career with his music and seems to have found his nitch in writing. He is the antithesis of Adam in style, but, like Adam, he is also a good guy and a dork.
Actually 8:26, the quote is brand new from the preview of BTM that won't be telecast until next week. The gif is undoubtedly old.
Adam has a special bond with Kris and Allison. I think he can confide in them. They were always around each other and seemed like they all got along. I really don't see competition among them.
In other words Adam is a very likable, opinionated but lovable person. That's why his family and friends bonds very well because of him.

Even though Kris did win AI season 8, who has had the bigger success? Adam Lambert, of course. His GNT was international, sold out practically every single venue, and he did not miss one show. Kris seems like a nice guy, very likeable, but Adam has that charm, that personality, that stage presence and that voice no one else in the music industry has today. He may or may not still keep in touch with Kris, but they genuinely seemed to like each other during the show and on the AI tour.
