It just simply appealed to me; I always use my first impression to gauge how much or deeply a picture or any artistic interpretation impacts me. Art, like music and other forms of artistic expressions is quite subjective to the eyes of the beholder. There is no need for comparison to other beautiful pictures of Adam; or photographers. Also, I've pointed out before, my number ones are ranked horizontally not so much vertically. This picture has a theatrical feel and it simply fits Adam's persona to a T. :)

Since I said I always use my first impression to gauge an impact, which sometimes may not be as accurate on further appreciation; I took a harder look at this arresting Adam expression and yea, I like it so much. It'll probably attract a lot of attention if strategically placed, say as a posh window display in one of those upperty locations or as a top-fashion magazine cover. It's the eyes...have never seen them so close-up intense...like an expression of eureka!

I love this picture! Adam looks so hot! I love when he does up his eyes (when the occasion calls for it) just as much as I love him with light or no eye makeup. This REALLY makes him look sexy. Can't wait to see PLL. The twitter partywas interesting. Sounds like the single will be one of the very upbeat ones and IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!! Enough of the nice, pretty, safe songs. On with the SHOW, for cryin' out loud.

Even though the "job" news isn't waht we thought, it still sounds like Adam will be plenty busy in September, and probably through the end of the year, doing promo. Anxious to find out what this "new" September stuff is, though.

Commentary

The title of this work "Music Soothes The Wild Beast" translated from the Latin proverb holds the key to the central concept and is intended to unlock the layers of the symbolic meaning. Essentially the message contained here states that music, harmony and ultimately love, is what makes us truly human. This piece is a contemplation of the internal struggle between the animal self and the soul. I took the perspective that struggle as an approach is futile while the path of the heart's harmony is a passage that grants a promise of taming, pacifying the animal within.

The animal of choice was the bull. It is possible that I feel special connection with it because of being born under the sign of Taurus on May 7 1974 in St. Petersburg, Russia. In a more transpersonal sense, a bull is an ancient archetypal symbol associated with the Earth. Historically domestication of cattle played a crucial role in the formation of human society and for that reason it is a consistent presence, vital in the mythologies of multiple cultures.

As we focus our attention on the symbolic elements that surround the creature, in the foreground of the picture we see a gate that appears to be held in place by two angelic beings. One on the left has more of a feminine quality and the one on the right is more masculine. Angels are commonly believed to be androgynous but here they represent principals not genders.

The sand clocks on each column are symbols of linear time and its duality. Left is the past, right is the future. The present is in the center of this gate upon which rests the dome comprised of the two Golden Section Pi spirals, seen against the background of the cosmos with the constellation of Taurus depicted in the position of the stars. All the way on the right, above the angel's wing, we can find the cluster of Pleiades (translation from Greek, 'flock of doves' meant here to symbolize peace). In the mythology they appear as Seven Sisters, daughters of Atlas and Pleione. Astronomically they are located in the constellation of Taurus and in my design are intended to correlate to the number of the mandolin strings sounding a chord touched by the human hands.

This symbolizes a choice to listen, harmonize and create that which soothes - the offering. Another way of saying it is that the music of the heart must be played to be heard and felt, just as the wine glass must be filled and raised to one's lips to taste the drunkenness of Love - to remember.

There is also an entire layer of geometric compositional relationships. They are indicated by lines formed by angels' wings and other shapes. All of the symbols discussed are there primarily to serve my objective to tap into the direct experience of mystic love, the feeling one might find reflected in the creatures gaze. Aside from all the potential traps of dogma and conceptualization I am sharing a belief that love opens the gate of time into the resonant moment of eternity where the beast is tamed and the human is born.

Those are the questions Adam chooses to answer....I followed my twitter feed (I follow a lot of people..) and there were many many excellent Q's that were not answered. I has to follow his rapid fire feed of questions and choose some at random really...I mentioned on twitter yesterday that I'm going to write down my deep and intelligent questions ; )) for him so next time I'll be ready: Of course I will either not be home, be driving my car, be at work...or won't remember where I kept my "Intelligent Q's For Adam" .... Its pretty hard to think of great questions spur of the moment..Although I did have one awhile back that I remembered to ask, not expecting an answer..and Lo and Behold, he answered. So you just never know..And it was a good question too...(Had to do with hugs..and boundaries...and Adam's answer had to do with neck sniffing/licking, make-up smearing on clothes, "face-plants"..etc.,which I thought was a great and informative Q/A: something he needed to say to the fandom..So was glad I asked...and was more than surprised to get an answer)..So bottom line, you just never know......

Well, I wish it were The Age of Enlightenment aka The Age of Reason. Sadly that was the 18th century. That was the progressive period of elite intellectuals who led the world toward rationality.
From that age came the American and French Revolutions. The founders of The U.S. were elite intellectuals and that was a good thing, no matter what Sarah Palin thought when she spit that out against Barack Obama as an insult.

Some say this is The Age of Data. I would add to that The Age of Divisiveness, Despair and Denial of Science. Aren't you sorry you asked, now I've depressed everyone.

JAK here....I'm hoping Adam's September Stuff is promotion for the much anticipated (by me!) Queenbert DVD!

My poor arthritic fingers are aching from daily punching up my old favorite 'Don't Stop Me Now' and my new favorite 'Who wants to Live Forever'. I had never heard the song before, how could I have missed it? I'd love to have a single of Adam singing that. To me, even though I'm a fan of Freddies it sounds more like an Adam song. Well, it sounds more like the kind of songs I wish Adam sang more often. No one today rocks a power ballad like Sir Lambert.

Wow! No, strangely, I laughed out loudly though you can't hear me...lol! What a wonderful, yea, slightly depressing answer. To add on to your Age of Divisiveness, Despair, Denial...the 3Ds; (by the way the letter, d is not a very happy one, eg. debbie-downers, dead, decomposed, damned etc. lol!) perhaps, I'd balance it off with the Age of Turning Point, for advancement and like you say enlightenment; hopefully not degenerating into the Age of No Return.
