Yes Adam, that's the way to go...fast and furious...great move! This time when you release your Trespassing single...it'll hit Weibo and Twitter...whoa, your sales will hop, step, jump, fly! I actually hinted about two years ago that you would one day gate-crash the mighty iron door. You finally made your first move to achieving that! Hmm see you on the Great Wall or at the Forbidden City. You love anything forbidden, don't you...lol! :)

Adam, do they address you as DangDang on Weibo...pronounced as DarngDarng; DangDang is also the name given to a cute inflatable toy cat/mascot...lol! They might have gotten the idea because it sounds like Ardarm. lol! :)

I never heard of Weibo. Glad many are following him on there.

Adam learn some basic Chinese and compose a Chinese pop song with some translation help...you'll make money because for a few dollars per person to buy the single; the sheer size of the population will make it go platinum in no time. lol! And I see the Chinese fans on their birthday video to you, love you. You don't have to learn the complex written strokes; use the alphabet but the tone is important, eg. wo ai ni...surely you can learn that. By the way, say this to Sauli, I'm very sure he'll love it! lol! :)

Ok, now we need all the Weibos to buy Trespassing by the ton! Hope more and more people sign on to Weibo!

DRG (Good idea for Adam to sing a song in Chinese. Talk about a huge market!)

So nice of Kelly and Adam to be cordial to one another. Adam now has 86,000 + fans.

Adam, did you not notice that your last AVI brought you thousands of new fans? Love your silver hair in your new AVI, but you look 'older' with it. Time to change back?

That was really sweet and supportive of Kelly Clarkson. Adam is great at using social media.

Lam-my, you are the closest thing to the Chinese language (forget the translation sites) and you are artistic as well, could you try your hand at penning a Chinese song to be set to music? I'm sure there's a Beatlesque ballad lurking in that fertile brain of yours. Consider "Michelle, ma belle, sont des mots qui sont tres bien ensemble" or "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir" must have won over some French fans. Or, "Danke schoen, darling danke schoen". Or, "Arrividerci, Roma". Or, "Guantanamera, guajira, Guantanamera...Yo soy un hombre sincero." Or, "Bessame, bessame mucho". Can't vouch for the spelling, but you get the picture,
won't you Lam-my? atm

You really really crack me up! Hey I didn't know you can be quite funny, very funny; I'm laughing so loudly as I'm replying to you. And I love all the songs you named especially, Michelle ma belle, Bessame mucho (Kiss me a lot) and Guantanamera, guajira...and yes Arrividerci and Voulez-vous...lol! Alas that is a totally different skill and also my mind is not attuned to Chinese music. I think you might do a better job with your classical writing style! lol! :)

Lam-my, I'm quite the dour type, born with a missing funny bone, so I was not trying to be a comedian. Sigh, after all your affinity to Adam, you'd think some of his musicality would have rubbed off on you. Oh well. But what about this: Remember how Susan Boyle put out a record of covers that went gangbusters? You know who the target demographics was for that? Her contemporaries, more than likely. Well, it worked. I know it would offend Adam's sensibilities to do covers, but if we Glamberts commissioned Adam to do one for us, one entitled, "Adam Does Glamberts Proud", wouldn't that be a kick, an album with a nod to a bygone generation's musical histories and myriad tastes. I'm sure we could convince enough people to go along with this so that we get what we want out of this vocal virtuoso, now "global superstar", with an album, some even sung in various languages for Adam's international fans. Because the impetus for this is not Adam, but us Glamberts, he would be absolved of any perceived capitulation to crass commercialism, because the onus for that blame would be on us. This could well be our Burning Man/Woman moment. What say, y'all peeps, Lam-my, DRG, JAK, Canadian, et al? Regardless of anyone's stage in life, this could be our fountain of youth, inspired by Brian and Roger, who would appreciate our point of view. atm

To continue, if commerce is not the goal, as it might infringe on Adam's RCA management contract, what about a foundation contracting for the purpose of raising funds for Adam's charity organizations? The demographics this album would attract would be introduced to Adam through this, possibly even complementing his current album sales, as long as this does not conflict with Adam's or his management's agenda. However this could be done, I hope they might see this not so much as taking away as adding to, or at least as a foundational corollary to the commercial track of Adam's career.
Because of his uniqueness as a singer who has proved he could just about tackle any genre of music, even improving on the original songs--this versatility, his innate ability to connect and interpret songs, his eclectic musical history and tastes, make Adam the perfect singer to do this.
Though I have every reason to believe Adam can make it without this, my interest is selfish and self-serving, being that I do not want to wait for Fate or Management to satisfy my craving for Adam's voice applied to all manner of songs. No singer in recent memory has had to run through as challenging a gauntlet as Adam has, so this would be one way to level the playing field for him, and not necessarily to serve as a crutch. Adam has already proved his worth to the world, and is now beginning to reap the fruits of his labor. As the first openly gay singer to have debuted at No. 1, Adam is now billed a global superstar, what with his triumphant gigs with Queen, and his upcoming South African tours that nearly sold out in just an hour and a half; and now the most desired act with Queen to perform at the Rock in Rio (in Brazil or Argentina?). This is primarily for the Glamberts who want to savor Adam's gifts to songs tied to memory banks, before the memory goes, and before their hearing goes out.
Now, for the hard part. So as to simplify distribution, this album could be a bonus album, even, piggybacking on the real, main album, if allowed. Of course, there's the problem of money, which we'd have to get initial capitalization for this project from benefactors, perhaps a dollar or so from all of his fan followers to produce the album. Let's see, how many on Tweeter and the Chinese version who might donate for the charity causes. Wouldn't that be enough to pay for all the expenses--marketing, musicians, engineers, producers, etc. Because the songs would be entirely covers, copyright permission for the songs and whatever upfront costs for such would have to be figured in. Now, how hard could this be? With radio being so calcified with regard to Adam's music, maybe this could be one way the proverbial cat might be skinned, so as to kill two or more birds with one stone. Morbid metaphors, I know, but that's all I can muster. atm

If this is Mission Impossible, no problem. It will self-destruct within a few minutes, and I will disavow any knowledge of it. If blame is to be cast for these musings, it is all Lam-my's fault. She made me do it. atm

Hey, whatever gets him accepted by more people is ok by me. His own music simply does not get heard beyond his fanbase. Simple as that. He promos, he gives mini-concerts, he interviews, he entertains, does TV, etc. but the MUSIC doesn't get wide, frequent airplay. His new album is full of gems; we all know that. His new single must be promoted to get the whole album listened to so that those gems will get discovered. I pray that with the critical praise that he got for the album, it will get a Grammy nom. Although I hate to bring up the gay thing, I think it would be classy for the Grammy peeps to nominate the album because of its reaching #1 status by an openly gay artist. The album's musical merit is worthy of a nom in and of itself, but that other milestone sets it apart, too.

I will support any and all reasonable suggestions for Adam's increased success. It's a terrible waste to let him go unheard.

@atm count me in! The problem would be that too many of us have ideas of what we would want him to sing. We would have to have voting maybe for the top 100 or so, or he would have to have many albums of these covers to satisfy all of our insatiable appetites :)

@atm, where do I send my $1.00? I'm serious.

Whoa! Haven't heard you so inspirational and entrepreneurial; but seriously, you should give it more thought and really it's a very potentially profitable music enterprise . Yea I'm for it because I sure would love to hear Adam sing Besame Mucho, and this one by John Denver...Annie's Song...lay down beside me...O Holy Night (only if he wants to) and so many beautiful classics. As I've said before, Adam is a song recyclist/reviver; till today, I'm still watching his...I Want To Break Free performance. But in the money-making music business, you need powerful bigwigs to organise something like that. Hey atm, why don't we start by a petition to gather momentum and sound this out to Adam; which might already be a tough hurdle. Yea, many ways to skin a cat. With you all the way! Seems like we may have a lot more in common than we know. Oh by the way...Thank you! :)

I have this feeling that ADAM will do covers and I know he would love it but just have to wait when he is already established as a rock-pop star.
In fact, I already have some songs in mind to suggest if ever he would ask.

I'm going to be a wet blanket here.
Though I started dreaming of kidnapping him while he was still on Idol and sweeping him to a hidden studio to record all my favorites...fortunately I gave up that fancy...I would surely have been caught and I would not fare well in prison. I'm a picky eater!

Adam sang covers for years and now wants his music to express his thoughts and emotions. I think we will occasionally be treated to a cover here and there but don't see him making any cover albums by choice!

It would make my heart sing with happiness to have this dream album come true, I have a mental list of close to a hundred songs (I've been around forever) that would cause me to melt into a puddle of joy if I could hear Adam sing them...sigh...JAK

Suzan Boyle's first cd sold 2 million and beat Adam to it when his FYE sold 198,000...both launched at around the same time. If you think business/money; sometimes sentiments have to side-step a little. Adam is so versatile, he can do one to express his own thoughts/feelings and one to sell...there's definitely a huge market for old classics which will directly appeal to the babyboomers who are now in their sixties+ . That era of music was truly memorable. So money or mind...do both I say. Adam is huge in terms of talents; if you 'melt' him down, he'll be a saturated ball of talent which must be exploited to the fullest. atm is the CEO and I'm her gungho cheerleader partner-in-crime. lol! :)

I have always wanted to hear Adam sing "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol. Also Elvis Presley's "I Can't Help Falling In Love". I could EASILY name hundreds more.

@Lam-my I too keep watching "I Want To Break Free" as well as so many other Queen + Adam fav's like "Somebody To Love which I think is a personal fav though Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Gaga are also way high up on the list. Really enjoying the DVD. Anyone else get theirs?

Susan Boyle wanted to sing covers...Adam doesn't, big difference. What anyone else wants doesn't affect him. I think we can all agree he's incredibly stubborn. We can't make him want what we want and unless he were starving in the street he probably wouldn't take advice 'for his own good'. HOWEVER, if you guys get this enterprise rolling, I'll chip in $100.00 just to hear him sing
Unchained Melody!.......JAK :)))

Yes, Adam has a strong sense of mind but he is also pragmatic...he needs to build up his bank account and he mentioned, he is splurging on shopping which scares him at times. Right...Unchained Melody, Besame Mucho, a Chinese song to capture a piece of that enormous pie. :)

Something tells me that Adam would feel that doing a CD of covers would be admitting defeat in some way. TPing is such an incredible album that got great critical praise. I'll bet if other singers released some of those songs, they'd be big hits. Adam has an image problem with many people. It's not just the gay thing. It's the "showing gay" thing, as Adam puts it. Let's face it. Adam lives an openly gay life. Lots of people find it very cool to hate him. His low sales has nothing to do with the quality of his music or his voice, both of which are excellent. He does covers now and then (as do other top singers), but he seems committed to doing original, new music, because that's what big singing stars do. They come out with new music. Anything Adam sings would be wonderful. No argument there. But I can just hear the haters already: "OOOOHH, Adam Lambert can't make it with his own music. He has to resort to covers. What a loser." I hate to think this woudl happen, but I think it would. Once again, Adam gets treated differently for some reason. Some other top pop singer could come out with an album of covers, and everyone would go nuts and it would sell millions. But Adam doing the same thing? I don't know. I hope I'm wrong on all of this. I just don't think Adam is ready to do a cover album. He is still fighting to prove himself to a very fickle listening public.

Once again, let's request the hell out of the new single and give it a good showing on the charts!

Adam has gone through much, so much that I doubt he actually puts that much weight on what people say, the negativity. If he doesn't do covers, it's for other reasons that mean a lot more to him than what other people say. What comes to my mind is cover songs may not give him so much emotion/satisfaction in his singing. When he sings, we can see the amount of feelings he puts into his own songs which are tailored for and by him. Secondly, it may be due to royalties he has to pay to make cover cds; so to him, it may not be worth all his commitment and dedication. There will also be a lot of control and restrictions on how the covers are to be sung; and he likes to change up the covers, as we see in Ring of Fire etc. Finally, he can't do cover love songs; though I don't see why. So I doubt it's due to what people say, he doesn't care so much about that anymore. It's just a matter of whether he wants to do it or not. I actually don't see that happening in the near future, maybe later. I was only thinking these old classics are beautiful songs and even more so when Adam sings them; like, Who Wants To Live Forever etc. and they will sell because these evergreen songs are familiar and established, worldwide.

Lam-my, Thanks for the good counterpoint to my post. I guess I'm ambivalent about him singing covers right now, as much as I love to hear him sing ANYTHING. He wants to concentrate on his own music. I think right now it gives him credibility and a sense of personal responsibility and connection to the music. I don't doubt that he'll sing covers in the future, but I kind of hope it comes after he has more success with his own stuff.

I'd love to see Adam do some duets with some great singers. Now THAT I would welcome with open arms. Hope some great high-profile singer out there realizes what a great duet partner he is.

I like how you are so open to other people's thoughts and suggestions. I feel comfortable writing a different opinion after yours because I know you always see the positive side of it. The duets suggestion is right on the top of my list for Adam too. I particularly remember the two duets...Aftermath with Alisan Porter, shattering. And Slow Ride with Alison, S8; best Idol duet. :)
