This looks similar to the back of the CD. Artistic but not a fav look for the fierce message of the song. Just my opinion...

Anonymous said...

As a matter of fact "NO" !

Anonymous said...

This cover for the tough and sassy Trespassing? Looks more like The Blonds fashion runway. Oh Adam !

Anonymous said...

I know he likes the coat by Gareth Pugh but the hat and coat together-phew! I have resigned myself that I will never understand Adam. Sigh!

Anonymous said...

Think it's edgy with just the right amount of sass. I like it. The dark side.

Anonymous said...

I like it.

Ooooh! I love this!! Really stylish! And fierce with hands on your hips...yea, so what do you want from me this time! Huh! And this is my favourite butterfly-collar long coat, he wore singing with Queen. I also like the golden gleam I often cite in a couple of my Adam poems. Hmm...this makes a spectacular blown-up wall picture. Attitude is the key in this cover art just like the song; yes it's Trespassing into closed minds with class! That's exactly Adam. Congratulations to Adam and the photographer/artist! :)

I like the picture, but would like it a whole lot better if I could see his face..

Anonymous said...

I love it !!

Anonymous said...

A no. Beautiful face shouldn't be hidden. And the cover of his CD was my fav. Wish he just used a variation of that rather than the back cover type pic. I don't like it. Feel like a huge fan for so many years but feeling disenchanted lately.

Anonymous said...

I love it- it's edgy and SEXY!

Yeah, Adam's got some real swagger goin' on in that picture! It's got the Trespassing message for sure. I would love to see more of his gorgeous face though:)))

Anonymous said...

That's not swagger, that's swish.
Not a good idea. I'm almost afraid to see a mv if it ever comes out. I know that's rude but I'm really depressed and doing a lot of praying.

Anonymous said...

Wow what negativity from some so called fans. It is just an EP cover and I think its cool.Adam is unique and this is what he chose. Do you love the single Trespassing, then what difference does a cover make? @Lam-my I enjoyed your post!!

Anonymous said...

omg 10:37 and 10:12 better get together and light some candles.

OT: I don't like adams new avatar pictue on his twitter account. Not flattening at all- but yes it will change!

Anonymous said...

yes folks true confession day is here. Get it all out.

Anonymous said...

I like it. It has the same theme as the TP album as it should. That bright sunlight hurts my eyes if I stare at it directly though. I have a headache now.

Anonymous said...

This should be looked at from the artistic angle; precisely the intentional mystique would have been 'killed' if his beautiful face is shown; in any case it has already been done for the Trespassing cd. We all know his face, not necessary to see it full view on every cd cover. And you might argue, what about those who have not seen his face...Well that means they have little interest on the Trespassing cd too. This slightly covert approach cover-art may actually lure some to find out more about Adam and his Trespassing album. I don't think it's necessary for both the Trespassing cd and Trespassing EP to show Adam's face. Now at least there is more intrigue. Stimulating the mind is better than feeding it with what it already knows. Too much familiarity bores the mind.

Thank you for your love and for enjoying my posts. Regarding being a professional writer per se, no. In my course of work as a senior, I had to write referrals, reports, critiques on my juniors who depend quite a lot on what I report, on their work...so in that sense you might consider it as professional. But in terms of writing for fun as what we are doing at Adam 24/7...it's just a very deep passion for writing which I only discovered I have when I started writing about Adam. If it was not for Adam, I wouldn't have thought writing could be a passionate thing for me; because I would have thought it's just work...a huge difference. :)

I think he wanted to show "attitude",& that pic shows it to me..I wonder what pic is on the back??I wish he'd hurry up & make the video.I think the look could be worked it to fit the song.

Anonymous said...

YES Adam Lambert is like the sun!

Anonymous said...

If Adam packages the Trespassing CD and EP as one sale, (may or may not); there'll be a nice continuation of the Trespassing CD showing the back of the same picture and the EP showing the front. Now we get to see the front and back of the same picture; a good flow of energy. This reminds me of a Cantonese saying: yao tow yao mei...literally translates to...got head got tail...lol! It simply means when you start something, you must also end it. :)

I could never become disenchanted with Adam..he keeps me entertained and I am always in awe of what treats he has in store for us next..never boring..the stance represents the "Trespassing" lyrics..the light on his face, even tho it hids his beauty, I belive represents the fact that we can all "shine" in our own way..and maybe that is why he chose not to show his face in the pic, or his amazing hair..I love Adam and will NEVER abandon my fanship....

Anonymous said...

This cover looks a little "smooth criminal". I' m thinking it's a miss for the track.

Anonymous said...

I agree with the first poster. The song is fierce and this is a couturier look. NVM - most people won't see the cover.

Love the pic, just seems a bit out of synch, that's all.

Anonymous said...

Thank you! Actually I myself also wonder why I have this strange affinity with Adam. I almost always see eye to eye with his music, art, fashions, hair dynamism, lol! his thoughts and definitely his singing. Sometimes I wonder if it could be due to the present planetary alignment and relative proximity of Pisces overlapping Aquarius at this particular astrological era, according to astrology. lol! But then one can ask, what about the millions like me...lol! :)

This was one of my favorite photos and looks from the box set. :D Tough and fierce, yet classy and clean. Very edgy, mysterious... The avant garde Adam I love. ;)

And Lam-my, you were spot on with your 11:10 and 1:22 posts. Agree 100%. To add to that, his personality shines here (no pun intended, lol), and the message is so very 'Trespassing.' He's definitely pushing artistic boundaries with this. :)

This cover emphasizes ADAM's esthetic side which I LOVE about him ... just like his FABULOUS 'take' on his song vids .. BTIKM .. NCOE .. etc. Not just run-of-the-mill vids ... ADAM's concepts make you 'think' & 'opine' about the TRUE meaning of the music!! Can't WAIT for the video for TRESPASSING ... I KNOW it will ROCK!!

I understand that the cover art is important to many people, but the main concern should be about the song . Will it get played on the radio? Will there be interest in hearing it and will it be the breakout hit that Adam has from the album? To me, it should have been the first single released all those months ago. I have heard him perform it so many times on all these vids we see from the shows he has done recently that it almost seems like an old song to me. Granted that the non Adam fans probably have not heard it, so to them it will be new. I just hope it brings Adam the recognition and success he so deserves. Let's get him on those tv talk and entertainment shows to perform Trespassing for all to hear. As for the cover, I love the coat but not so crazy about the hat,but that's Adam...never boring or uninteresting and always gives us something to talk about.

Prefect cover, as Adam would say "Wait til ya get a load of me".

It is called our opinion. A doesn't care what I think. Never has. Bad cover art.

Anonymous said...

Thank you! Yea like that...his personality shines...But why is the star-shine focused on the mouth area; it's a pretty bold statement. My guess is to focus on the significance of his voice / songs. And also, his face turns to one side, like as if to say...I don't care what you think, I'm going ahead with what I want to do. I may be reading too much into the picture but Adam is pretty deep. lol! :)

That's exactly right; I was thinking the star-shine focused on the mouth could have been placed at any other spot; why is it focused on the mouth...artists always do things with a reason; they don't simply put an extra gleam anyhow. It's bold to dare to do that; as you can see, even in a small place here, we are at odds about it. Isn't it fascinating rather than have a simple sexy Adam picture which would be fascinating too. lol!

This blog is Adam Lambert 24/7 News
not Adam Lambert Temple or Shrine.
And it says Post a Comment. So we do. As Adam says some people like it some people don't.

As far as this cover goes, I think the photo is artistic and would be a nice poster, but I do not think it's a good image for the song Trespassing. Remember Adam said I could like it or not.

Anonymous said...

The EP cover picture reflects the attitude of the song perfectly. It's edgy and stark and has presence. Some posters here always want Adam's pictures to be "pretty" and cute. Well, he's a lot more than that. I like that darker, mysterious side just as much. I don't mind pictures that don't show his handsome face all the time. Eye candy is fine, but there's a lot more to him than that. This is an EP cover. I can't imagine feeling disenchangted by anything lately. Actually, lately, things have been VERY VERY good for Adam!

This is all I could find about it someone posted:
FYE album cover is shown in the movie :) yay!

The movie "Pitch Perfect", due for release in October, is about competing a capella singing groups and is apparently cute and funny. There was some speculation one of Adam's songs was covered in the movie but sadly, that hope has been shot down. However, there is a "little surprise" in the movie for Adam fans:

Because I'm not particularly interested in whether you like it or not; but I would be interested about why you don't like it. Furnish reasons; like in this case, why is the cover art not suitable...

5:19 here.
Yet another great analysis regarding the shine, Lam-my. :)I was thinking along those lines as well, and I find it an especially good tie in to the "I shine when I want to shine" line he sings in Trespassing. Adam has done a great job in making his work cohesive, without being repetitive thus far.

Btw, you can never go too deep with art, haha! ;D Or Adam for that matter! :)

Anonymous said...

8:54
Yea..."I shine when I want to shine" is a good guesstimate on the shine in the cover art. Hmm settles me a bit. lol! And the star-burst at the mouth probably to accentuate his golden voice. lol!

I'm not going to wax poetic about the EP cover: I leave that to those who do it best : )) But I personally feel Adam most likely put a great deal of thought into what image and yes, symbolism, he wanted to project and this picture is what he chose.. I like it. What is most important for the EP is the music contained within. As for the cover art, it is Adam as he wishes to be seen. One of his many artistic "persona" . I'm also pretty sure I know why some object to it...but will not put voice to it. We worry that not everyone will understand. We want everyone to love him as we do. Not everyone will. So I'm just gonna buy the EP and continue to love Adam, for his music and and for himself. The picture is "art": so is Adam... Plain and simple.

This is a quote from Adam from a recent interview. I think it very much applies here:

"I've turned 30 and I don't have time to be scared of what others think. Its not my problem. I worry about my own happiness. I want to be honest...I want to be myself." ~ Adam Lambert

@ DRG 7:31 am

This is 7:29 am. Wanting Adam to look "pretty" is just the opposite of what I want.

This photo is too "fashion model"
where is he trespassing? In Nordstroms? Too glam.

The lyric, melody and attitude (FU) with which Adam sings Trespassing is grittier, I would have liked a "tougher" photo to represent the song.

Tons of articles about Trespassing EP. This is from RCA:

http://www.rcarecords.com/news/adam-lambert-release-trespassing-remix-ep-october-16th

(Los Angeles, CA) – Adam Lambert has announced October 16th as the release date for the TRESPASSING EP on 19 Recordings / RCA Records. "Trespassing" is the third single taken from Lambert's sophomore album of the same name. Hailed by Rolling Stone as "the great pop album everybody was hoping Adam Lambert would make," Trespassing debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 charts.

Co-written by Lambert & chart-topping producer/rapper/writer Pharrell Williams, Billboard magazine calls "Trespassing" a "startling, stomping, altogether tremendous (song), in which Lambert snarls 'Wait 'til you get a load of me' over a beat that Michael Jackson would have loved."

The TRESPASSING EP will be available at all digital retailers as well as through www.AdamOfficial.com. A physical version will be available exclusively on www.AdamOfficial.com later this year. Fans who pre-order the physical version will still get the digital version on street date. Pre-orders are available immediately.

Lambert’s debut album For Your Entertainment has sold nearly 2 million copies worldwide. Lambert was nominated for a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Whataya Want From Me” in 2010. This summer Lambert sang lead vocals with Queen in select European & UK markets, having previously shared the stage with the band for the finale of the MTV European Music Awards when they were being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Most recently, Lambert was the sole Westerner invited to perform on the finale of The Voice China to an audience of 500 Million viewers.

Everyone is indeed entitled to their own opinion. I believe the people who don't favor this EP cover feel that way out of, primarily, most of them, out of concern for Adam's career. But I just have to put in my two cents to those people, that sort of funny yet curt expression comes to mind: Are You Knew Here?? When I read statements like that, I think, oh my you don't get Adam at all. Just my two cents. Anonymous said...

It isn't a strong fierce image. It is not representative of the toughness of the song. Not a good pic for cover art.

Anonymous said...

Some of the toughest and fiercest people I know of or admire from afar, happen to be the gentlest; how about Gandhi, Mother Teresa. Subtlety and refinement too, can depict strength and fierceness other than obvious ferocity. And Adam belongs to the first category.

To me, the cover art shows this part of Trespassing lyrics:

"Life’s my light and liberty
And I shine when I wanna shine."

Anonymous said...

Yeah, but I doubt a lot of philosophers will be picking up the album. Most people don't dig deep for the why? of an album cover. To them it's just a picture.

Anonymous said...

6:38
Thank you for all the titles, just a wee wee bit of all of them. No, I don't let a subject or for that matter anything go...when I feel I may be able to shed a little humble light on the matter. Intention is not just obstinate persistence but rather to help or throw in a new perspective. May or may not be accepted; that's okay but I still need to put in my one cent. It's just what I am. But when I don't see a necessity, I absolutely say nothing. I don't do it because I want to win or to get attention. Actually I don't like too much attention though it may be interpreted as that by some, who think it irksome. As I've said before, there are so many threads to choose from; simply click on the next, if one doesn't appeal to you. Do you track me? If not, how do you know I seldom let a subject go? I have heard you before and I would like to know your name; are you afraid to leave your name?

Cover art on CD was phenomenal. Cover art on single not so much. If he wants mainstream sales, he needs to have mainstream look. This doesn't work on so many levels.

Anonymous said...

Well if I have to choose sides, either for or against, I'm afraid I'm against. Classy art shot but as a representation of Trespassing
I think not......
Sorry guys.......JAK

Jadam NZ said...

Sorry from me to guys, I love the look, dont get me wrong, just dont think it represents what Trespassing is all about to a non fan, a newcomer etc.
So JAK I agree with you.
Then again Adam can do as he pleases I support him 100% any way.
I do so hope this single takes off and goes crazy. It is quite a bit different to any of the other singles, tho they were excellent it was radio played that stood in their way, but we wont go there again not just yet anyway.

Anonymous said...

I agree with both JAK and Jadam NZ.
I support ADAM all the way and this cover is lovely but NOT for Trespassing.
I wish ADAM think of the non-fan prospective buyer of his album/single next time, not only by those who follow and understand him.
His FYE cover resulted in not being picked up for purchase by those who are not die hard fans as I know of some.
I'm praying hard for the success of this single and EP.

The cover art is confusing to me and I think will be to the non fan as well. Way too androgenous with the tight waisted buttoned jacket. Not FYE enough but too much so for Tresspassing.

I could care less what Michael Jackson or Boy George think. MJ was and BG is too strangely wierd to use as examples for Adam.
