I can hardly understand the line in "Love wins Over Glamour":

"There was no love that it could shine on shine on..."

What "it" refers to?

Could anybody please explain the sentence?

9:48 I believe there is a lyric video to LWOG on YouTube. I don't know the song just yet.

Anonymous said...

The whole song is just saying money doesn't bring love. Don't roll around in your riches keeping it to yourself, spend it to help others and spread love

Anonymous said...

Sorry.I didn`t understand much of the lyrics but the title, Love Wins Over Glamour.

I wonder if Adam will keep Melvin for the Elvis Photo Shoot?

I asked my bro about the lyrics and he said only rich people can throw away money and loves got nothing to do w it. I thought that if you had all the money in the world but no love it`s invane, something like that.

Thank you for your reply!

I had the whole lyrics and knew the basic idea of the song. I just didn't understand the sentence I quoted because English is not my native language.

Thank you guys anyway!

silly Zak, if you're going to wear black the odds are in your favor to coordinate with someone else.

This cool! Another suggestion for American Idol Judge replacements, with former contestants...This time from NBC Today Entertainment:

"Fire the stars! 'American Idol' alumni who'd make great judges" by Craig Berman,TODAY contributor

Excerpts:

“American Idol” is possibly considering replacing all four judges with former contestants? If the idea seems far-fetched, that’s because it's a really good idea for a show that has had very little of those in recent years.

"It makes perfect sense to re-energize the fan base by bringing back old favorites instead of throwing millions upon millions of dollars at big names with questionable appeal and no ties to the show. If viewers aren’t going to fall in love with Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, and this season, Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, is replacing them with other flashy entertainers really going to work? (Although a panel of Taylor Swift, a couple of her exes and Kanye West might get the job done -- but not for the right reasons.)

Fill the panel with past contestants who can fill four specific roles, and the show’s 13th season might be lucky after all:"

1. The former champion
2. The challenger
3. The comic relief

And TA-DAAAA!

4. The realist
Top choice: ADAM LAMBERT

This is the hardest spot on the panel to fill, but especially if Jennifer Hudson turns her role down, it may be the most critical to the show’s entertainment value. “Idol” is full of nice contestants saying nice things, which is not a surprise considering the point is to make people like you. But it’s a really boring show when everyone thinks the entire top 10 is destined for stardom.

“Idol” needs a judge who will say how far everyone really is from getting to their goals. It also needs someone who is willing to contradict the other judges and add some snark. Adam Lambert has been nothing but supportive in his returns to the show, but he’s also shown a willingness to challenge conventions and stand up for himself. He doesn’t seem like a guy who minds being booed, which would be a rare commodity these days.

I think Adam will give constructive criticism but I can't imagine him being snarky. CA would be more likely to fill that bill. CA wouldn't like the boos, Adam probably wouldn't either, but he wouldn't show it. Adam is excellent at rolling with the punches but I'd have have a hard time watching it.

Adam! Adam ! Adam! In NYC!!!
GORGEOUS!!!
Can't wait to his look alike Elvis PICS!!!

Thanks Glitzylady for NBC entertainment article on Idol judges:)
Awesome mention on Adam!!!

Adam is in LA not NYC

I have nothing against JHud, but she has hardly been supportive about AI and, in contrast, Adam has been totally supportive of American Idol. CA has been out of touch with the pulse of current music and has not been supportive of past contestants and idols to my knowledge. I also think CA is polarizing while Adam is constantly supporting contestants and current artists. Adam definitely has his own POV, but is always constructive in his critique which is important in a judge (as when he has mentored in the past on AI and other shows). He wouldn't avoid saying what needs to be said unlike past judges - example, "You look nice today", for millions of dollars!LOL
Just my opinion...nancdruuu2

Adam also tweeted I love this country. He has such a good since of humor. Adam Levine probably doesn't think so though.

Annnddd.. another GREAT Adam Lambert (major!!!) mention in this Billboard article about Pharrell Williams:

Pharrell Williams' Top 40 Return: 10 Songs That Prefaced His Pop Comeback

"From songs with Frank Ocean to Adam Lambert, check out Pharrell's fascinating work leading up to "Get Lucky" and "Blurred Lines." "

(EXCERPTS FROM THE ARTICLE:)

"If you've been sleeping on Pharrell during his time spent out of the spotlight, here's some of the better songs he's worked on in the meantime, many of which pointed the way to his inevitable comeback -- and a number of which were comeback-worthy on their own."

"ADAM LAMBERT, "TRESPASSING" & "KICKIN' IN" (2012)"

"Even Pharrell's most devoted followers had to be caught a little off-guard by the writer/producer's work on "American Idol" alum Adam Lambert's "Trespassing" album, churning out both the barnstorming, "Another One Bites the Dust"-esque glam disco of the album's title track, and the strobe-light throwdown of "Kickin' In," arguably the album's finest track. Lambert gave Williams his finest pop muse since Justin Timberlake ("Rock Your Body," "Senorita") back in '03, and P responded with two of his most creative, intoxicating and boundary-stretching tracks of recent years, both of which would have been mega-hits in a fairer pop universe. Clearly, Pharrell and disco were meant to have further success together"

@12;46 Love that Adam tweeted I Love This Country so not to be confused with Adam Levine who said the opposite on the voice last night. The media mixes up the two Adam's all the time. Love our Adam, always one step ahead!

YES, YES, YES! ... excellent article, and from NBC no less! Thanks Glitzlady!

Adam would be perfect as an Idol judge. He has opinions and he's not afraid to state them. He is capable of brilliant, insightfull and constructive critiques that will help those contestants with open hearts and ears. And he is so eloquent he could deliver whatever thoughts are on his mind with grace and a killer smile to melt the most skeptical heart.

I've said it before, if Adam is a judge on Idol I'll start watching. THAT would be entertainment!

I think Adam as Idol judge would also bring his wit and humour along with a good dose of realism. He is the challenger!

@glitzylady....Yes, thank you sooo much for these 2 amazing links! I couldn't be prouder of Adam! He's got some real cred going on :)

Thanks for the links about Adam and Idol and Adam and Pharrell. Love the list for Idol naming Adam as The Realist. If he is not chosen, it will be a loss for the audience who will be robbed of his great personality. Love the praise for Pharrell's work with Adam. Hope Adam continues to work with top writers and producers on album #3.

To bring it back to Adam, and not the band member who doesn't control his crays, Adam looks incredible. Wow!

Anonymous said...

This! " P responded with two of his most creative, intoxicating and boundary-stretching tracks of recent years, both of which would have been mega-hits in a fairer pop universe". In a fairer pop universe - says it all! So even Billboard realizes that Adam was robbed. I like that, even tho it doesn't change anything. The U.S. simply HAS TO start playing Adam, don't they? Let's hope #3 does the trick. L

9:27pm ... I loved that quote from Pharell, too. And the rest of what you said.

"Tresspassing" is a great song - especially live, but for me "Kickin' In" is the BOMB. Intoxicating is a good word to describe it. Reminds me so much of Prince. Of course I have Adam's excellent CD, but I had to bring that song over to a "favorites" list for more frequent listening pleasure. Haha.

Along with you, I've wondered ... American radio HAS to start playing Adam ... or loose creditably? I mean, really?, they'll continue to ignore him?

Thank God we really know he's destined for world domination.

@Glitzylady, Thanks for the Pharell/Adam link!I didn't comment as you said all that I would have said, as you usually do! lol

It may take a bit more time, but with so many great artists touting Adam, with so many great reviews of his music, with so many smart, devoted world wide fans, people will finally get that Adam is one of the worlds greatest talents. He is in so many ways.

Anonymous said...

Hope Melvin hangs up his hat soon, preferably permanently. He detracts from Adam's handsome face.

Anonymous said...

@Laura, wasn't the quote by the writer of this article about these two songs, not by Pharell - however, very positive and uplifting!

Anonymous said...

1:02am, YOU think it detracts from Adam's handsome face. I don't.

@glitzylady- thanks for the link on Adam on idol. I especially loved your comment why he should be judge. Spot on!
