VIA HollywoodLife:
If offered a spot as a judge, Adam tells us he wouldn’t even hesitate:
"Dude if they called me, “I’d be like yeah. Where do I sign?” It would be very cool. It would be exciting. It would be a really cool opportunity to help people coming into the show and to help them keep their vision focused because it does become overwhelming when you get in there and there’s so many people telling you what they think you should do and your family, the producer, the judges, and all the other contestants that might be screwing with your head. I think it might be nice as a judge to help people stay focused. It gets crazy and to help them reach their dreams — it would be such a reward." - Adam Lambert

I guess Adam has joined the high spenders now. He is wearing name brand clothes, $765 for the shirt. In an interview someone asked him what he would buy for $300, he said maybe an accesory. things must be looking up, LOL
One of the things I really admire so much about Adam is how genuine he is. Whenever he opens his mouth to speak, you feel that it's the honest truth--no bull, no lie. In one interview he was asked if he ever lied and he responded in a heartbeat, "only to protect someone". How honorable is that? I think that's why he's so respected by so many.
In this quote Adam reveals why he wants to be an Idol judge: he's been in the contestant's shoes and he can help them find their truths in their Idol journeys. Open and honest, not Machiavellian. atm
Good guy Adam!
As good as Adam looks in that shirt ..(and everything else)....they should pay him to wear it ....rose petal
Lol well he wants it to help his career. And adam has always had expensive clothes. This is nothing new
@rose petal
Ain't that the truth or should be!
@rose petal, I totally agree!
I don't think he has always had expensive clothes, but he had a good eye for clothes that looked expensive but didn't have a big price tag. Now interviewers are asking who he is wearing, and he is starting to name clothiers. I don't think it is needed for men, I know the ladies are pushed to have name brand clothes. It kinda makes them try to up each other, and really who cares, as long as they look nice, which Adam usually does. He used to only mention who his boots were from and most of his leather clothes. Adam has always loved new trends in clothes, and he keeps up to date. He is getting a good taste as what to wear on the red carpet, and what is a more relaxed look. All this is part of his growing experience in becoming a super star
Lol the white suit he wore to sing feeling good on idol was dolce and gabanna. Other things he wore on idol were custom designed by skingraft.
Not that I don't think Adam would be a good judge on AI, but I don't think it's the best career move for him, particularly when this show has been faltering for a few years now. Adam will do what Adam wants, but he's building his career in music himself in its initial stages. Somehow it seems like a step down to return to Idol.
I would love to see Adam as a judge on Idol for exactly the reasons he gave in this interview. He is a man with integrity and is respecsted by so many in and out of the music business. Of course, the producers will do what they want as far as a new judge and because Adam has said he would do it, he probably won't be offered the position. Would it hurt or benefit his career? Who knows at this point? Is it a step down? Well, JHud has signed on as a judge. Is it a step down for this Oscar winner? All I know is that I would be watching the show every week if Adam were a judge because I am sure it would be very interesting.
have you all noticed how much more mature Adam looks these days..no more slightly chubby face..he has morphed into a slender beautiful man..I mean he has always been beautiful..but he is even more so now..he needs to start his own clothing, shoe line..maybe cologne as well..I, for one, believe he could sell his ass off..but don't do that Adam cause we love your sweet little ass..I, like many others believe that people will fall in love with him if he becomes more visible..and even tho AI may be headed to oblivion after next yr, with Adam would make a fantastic judge and would be seen by millions every week..and how can you not fall in love with him??? I know I am hooked for life..
@11:33 - how do you know the cost of his shirt??? Just curious..I's love to be able to research the cost of his wardrobe (call me nosey) lol
ok Adam put his message out let's hope he get a bite if that's what he really wants.
Ok - that's what he wants but I'm afraid that at the end of the day they are going to let him down - as usual.
Adam should find something else to do because Prides and Idols and touring misc fairs will not take him far in his career.
When you look that good, you want to wear good clothes. Adam has a body and face and stature that were made to wear top-line clothes. He knows it, and he capitalizes on it. He stand out in a crowd in a very good way. He can make less expensive clothes look expensive just because he is wearing them.
I think the Idol judge job is on Adam's bucket list. It's something he wants to do to make his Idol journey a full circle. Remember, the judge job is not a life-long thing. It's only about nine months. But the positive impact on his career could be very good. It could open up the eyes of an audience who needs to re-acquaint themselves with him. The media pays attention, too, a gives the judges lots of media time outside the show. I think it has more positives than negatives. Even though the show is in a slump, it still packs a decent punch. I hope he gets the job, even if it's just for one season, before the show is done. Then he can say, "I did it!" I'm sure he's aware of the risks and the impression of the show's status now. But he is a risk-taker and is willing.

@1:12 I agree with you. Wish he would do lots of smaller shows/clubs in more places so we could all have a chance to see him - and just sing, sing , sing. I love it that he's got his fingers in everything - and he's perfect for it all, but his voice is what is the most amazing thing about him (I know, how can I put his looks second bestillmybeatingheart). Tough call but I'd kill to see him live up close and more often. You know, to breathe him in ...
You can't make decent money doing small shows. Adam is taking gigs that pay well or give him some kind of publicity. My guess is he will be looking at broadway next. I certainly don't see him becoming a kris allen type bar singer.
I think that BB being a judge on Idol for one season would help his career..It sure did for Jaylo,Mariah, and even for Keith Urban..If they could make him a guest mentor for several times( maybe that would be very good, too,or even better)He'll get to sing his own song or songs also.I just don't want Fox to keep him "hanging"like they did before. That was the pitts,& I sure don't want Clay Aiken either.
@1:30 I know, it does come down to money. I was just dreaming.
@DRG
So often I totally agree with you, love your posts, you are so generous, positive (in an Adam-kind-of-way) and "sane" in your comments...
However, one thing I want to comment (I'm not so positive as you, lol) is this: "it could open up the eyes of an audience who needs to reacquaint themselves with him"...
IMO this audience deserted him after he "came out" (the RS article) and esp. after AMA'09 performance and FYE album cover... and most probably also GNT & kissing Tommy saga. I doubt they have changed their views on the things why they deserted him for, at least not most of them.
I kindly ask, do you think Adam being an AmIdol judge would help these people to change their views on Adam being gay?! (however an excellent job he would do!) Cause he will keep kissing boys and "being Adam" no matter what's the job he's doing. His "dreidel" will keep spinning the other way...
I imagine that he made some pretty good money touring in Asia..but, gosh darn it..he needs to put out another album and score a hit or two and go on tour again in the US..the sad undeniable truth is that he is just not that popular here..which is a shame, a real shame..but I prefer to keep an optimistic view and hope that things will turn around for him..his whole persona just cannot be ignored..if our love for him could change things..he would be the most popular artist that ever lived I'm sure!!!
He has told everyone in the world now that he wants the job on Idol. Time to let that rest and just wait to see what happens - again. He told everyone last year too. He is the logical choice, but look how they shot themselves in the foot the last 2 seasons!
Whoever the "decider" is should be fired.
As far as his new wardrobe - it must be a thrill, since before Idol he shopped in consignment shops! One of my favorite places - you never know WHAT you'll find!
Halloween costume heaven! kk
@2:29 PM..sadly I must agree with you..yes, Adam has made some mistakes, bordering on fatal mistakes, when it comes to his career..but, you know what..the American audience has a short memory span..and just maybe he can overcome at least some of these mistakes..he does insist on rubbing against male dancers, as well as rubbing himself on stage..and yes, many people are turned off by that (not me, btw)..but I do understand why some are turned off..he tends to flaunt his sexual orientation on stage..and I'm sure he thinks it is sexy..and it is..but only to some..gee Adam..just get up there and sing....
@2:35 PM..Adam only told media ONCE that he would like the Idol job..the thing is..a whole slew of websites are reporting on it as if he keeps putting it out..but..he only talked about it once..
Well it is absolutely the only way I will ever watch Idol. Ha ent watched it since S8 and Adam would draw me back as I am sure others feel the same. He has the credentials and quick wit to make it a stellar seaso. The Dark Side
@ 2:38
I totally agree with you & 2:43
Adam is as stubborn as they come. If anyone says he cannot do something, that is the very thing he will do. Mostly to prove a point. He is always saying do not let anyone say you may not do something. Being in the public eye, he takes it too far. It has nothing to do with being gay, that is for the most part accepted, it is how he portrays his sexuality. Which is probably why AI thinks Clay Aiken is the lesser risk. Nobody says he can't sing very well, but they remember him for being the guy who kisses other men, if he had not gone on to Glam Nation every night to prove a point
he would have probably gone further with his career. Even Leila thought he should have apologized. He has a great fan base, but it should be way more, like Beiber and others. If he does another tour I hope it is in his bucket list to do one completely family friendly without sexual inuendos. He can still be as sexy as hell, without offending anyone. He is quite capable since certain countries and individual shows have insisted on it. I hope he starts his new album soon, but that seems to be on the back burner for now.
Don't know what will happen with idol...I can't imagine anyone worse than CA as a judge ....arrogant little thing he is ...won't watch no way mo how....rose petal
@2:38PM--I guess I agree with some of what you have said in reference to Adam's sexual behavior on stage at times with the crotch rubs and and sexual overtures with the male dancers. Even throwing in the occasional FU.. when talking to the audience isn't really necessary. Then if you follow this website there are often pictures of Adam at gay bars with cross dressers, etc. I know these are his friends and he is comfortable in these social circles, but it does turn off many no matter how great a vocalist he is. I just want him to get up there and sing also. But Adam will do what he wants because that's who he is and is not going to change to be accepted by the general public. I just hope that his third album produces some great music that turn into radio playable songs such as WWFM. And, yes, I would like to see him on Idol as a judge because he has so much to offer about the process and the music business. I have been a fan since day one of Idol, but it doesn't mean that I have to like everything about Adam and some of his past performances. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens with Idol and also the next step in his career.
Following the latest with Adam Lambert is never boring or uninteresting. You find out something new practically every time you come on to this blogsite. That's why those of us who come here each day know what is going on in Adam's life and career. Most of those who saw him on Idol and maybe some other shows, have no idea what is happening with his musical career at this point close to 4 years after Idol. It's hit or miss reporting some of the wonderful things he has done(appearing with Queen) and receiving awards and recognition for his involvement with the LGBT community. I think as a judge on Idol, the audience will realize what an articulate, intelligent and honest person he is and get the opportunity to reacquaint themselves with this amazing performer.
@ 2:43 p.m. You are mistaken, Adam has talked about the Idol judge job many many times in this country and in the U.K. in radio station and tv station interviews, even on red carpet. Last year and this year.
This is Anon 2:29
Just to make myself clear, I have no problems with any of Adam's decisions, performances, songs, pics or his sexual preferences & lifestyle. I embrace it all and I love him just as he is.
I just doubt being a judge on AI (however a perfect job he would do on it) would bring those fans back, who "deserted" him after Idol, FYE and AMA'09, cause even though Adam has matured and gotten even better-er, THEY HAVE NOT changed their views of people who are 'openly gay and proud of it'... jmho
I just want to be able to see Adam on television again. When he was on Idol I couldnt wait to watch every week. Hope we get that opportunity again. Whether to judge or perform, I'll be anxiously waiting.
Idol would be his best chance for gaining a bigger audience but the chance of him getting that job is slim IMO so I think people are spending too much time thinking about it.
It's not just adam who lost people after idol was over. Just about everyone off the show does . Lol how many fans do kris or David cook have these days?
I've said it before and I still believe that Adam needs to leave the US for a while in order to make it. He won't do it living in LA.
Time is not on his side, either. He's not getting any younger and as we all know, youth is the thing in the show biz these days. Unfortunately real talent does not matter that much, most pop stars are nothing but products designed to bring in the money.
I hope I'm wrong but I think Adam will not get the job on Idol. I think he is considered to much a risk. Idol is a family show. I don't think they will take the chance. I don't think it's him being gay but his lifestyle, gay bars, prides, poster boy, making out in clubs and proud. Maybe he needs to be more discreet. He has a right to do what he wants but mainstream America must not think so. If they did they would buy the music. It started with the AMA's, and he seems to build on that.
Unbelievable. That first comment was so obviously a troll. But I can't tell if some of you are for real or not. Or haven't seen anything current or want Adam to be some recreation of a squeaky clean performer from the 50's.
Adam's life, Adam's career. If you don't like his choices, GTFO.
Thanks for all the interestingn replies. It's has occurred to me too that, despite all Adam's post-Idol performance decisions, he is still one of the few real stars to come off the show. And he has actually sold pretty well with little radio play. Probably more than others. I truly believe that some of those old AI viewers who loved him on the show and voted for him WOULD be open to him again if they saw him as a judge. He wouldn't be judging and doing all kinds of sexual antics. He would be entertaining and constructive. The Idol judges do get a lot of media attention, too, on other shows, talk shows, etc. Adam is great on shows like that, and once again, would not be overtly sexual. I think AI viewers would see an Adam who is appealing and fun and smart. Just the Adam we see. It' worth a try, I think. People DO sometimes change their minds.
I hope so.
DRG
Lol, Adam probably won't get the job because it is very competitive, not because he is gay or too risky. There are lots of factors like diversity that they need to take into account and lots of people would love the job. It's not a slight against him it's just tough being in the entertainment business with lots vying for the same limited number of opportunities.
After watching the fiasco with Nicki and Mariah this past season, Adam would be the total opposite of those two divas. There was Nicki with her crazy wigs and her boobs hanging out and Mariah with the dresses so tight that she could hardly walk or get up from her chair. I think Adam has matured and changed from his post Idol days and learned some lessons from "mistakes" he may have made on the AMAs and people not liking FYE and the Glam Nation tour. Has his career suffered from them, perhaps, but he seems to be doing very well internationally. And I think his appearances with Queen were phenomenal and not given enough recognition in the press. He may never achieve the superstar status that so many of us want for him, but hopefully Adam will find his niche in the music business with a legion of loyal fans who started with him on Idol. It's true that today's record listening/buying/concert going audience is composed mainly of tween and teens and therefore the success of Bieber, TSwift and the boy groups who do bring in the dollars. Adam's appeal is to a specific audience and maybe smaller venues, clubs, casinos, etc.is where he will be performing. It doesn't matter to me as long as he performs on stage, even Broadway one day. I guess I have carried on a bit too long, but this man just mesmerizes me with his voice, appearance and personality and in the world of music with it auto-tuned, lip synching, untalented performers, to have such an amazing voice ignored is just a tremendous shame.
If you don't like Adam's orientation and lifestyle, go find another performer to be a fan of. He is never going to change to make you happy. Either accept it or move on.
I don't have to except it, I think he might be taking some advice right now, about his performances. He has made a complete change recently, in his make up and clothing. If he wants to flaunt his sexuality he has a huge following from all the gay groups, who love his bold sexual moves. Mainstream will not accept it EVER. I think he has come to realize that. He should for the time being, perform mostly for other countries, the Asian countries love him as do the European countries. I would be surprised if they offer him AI judge, but I would definitely watch him if they do. He must know what gigs he has coming up this year, that he is not at liberty to speak about. He seems to be biding his time, like he seems to be waiting for something. Maybe his split has hit him more than we know, he seems to be searching for inspiration before he can get going with his new album.
Lol I think he is waiting for a record deal before he goes on with his new album.
Adam has a record deal...and he's working on it...
Yes, you do have to accept it because Adam gets to chose the type of career he wants. You can either follow or not. And you obviously have no idea what is going on in the mainstream music business.
Some really sensible comments on this thread so far (and I'm not being sarcastic).
I really think his looks on Leno singing BTIKM was the best, almost no make-up and looking so gorgeous and thought he would carry on with that image. I wish he did. I watched that hundred of times.
