Harry Connick talking about high notes . . . hope he wasn't referring to Adam . . . . now those girls last year . . hurt my ears . . . . but Adam's high notes . . . just made my heart soar . . . sound bath as our friend across the pond would say!

I have been watching just to get a look at our boy. But it hurts to listen to those singers. Adam has had the best stage presence of all on Idol. No one even comes close and those voices hurt my ears.

More Adam!!!!

More Adam!!!!

Sorry, posted double......
but there is never to much Adam.

I think this is the first Live performance . . not sure only watching because Adam is on . . . .but there are a couple I like
Adam still had the best stage present ever on AI

ok was that a dig at Adam from Harry. He didn't know whos idea it was for her to come out with a big production number and sing like that. I don't like him. Just my opinion.

I think Harry is making digs at Adam. He's to snarky overall anyway.

AI judges have ALWAYS been jealous of Adam's comments to the contestants. Come on! Adam's comments to that girl who sang Katy Perry's song were absolutely right. She sang it in the right tempo. What's wrong with this show when it comes to Adam?

Also, Kristen O'connor tweeted a pic of her WITH Adam, not Chris. Yet, the show chose to show the segment when she talked to Chris.

Same all over again....

Harry's not happy that he is seen as an old person. And yet all 3 are so close in age.

Stop making trouble where there is none. Idol didn't ask Adam to be a mentor to then turn around and take swipes at him.

6:19, Idol tweeted the pic of Kristin with congratulations that is this post. Look at it again. There is no conspiracy.

I feel bored and need to go to bed soon!!:)

I'm just happy to see Adam and he tried everything to help the contestants!!:)

Go, go, MK!!!:)

I love Adam on my TV.

I'm so grateful to see Adam on TV tonight. I'm excited for tomorrow night, too.

OMG-American Idol is just plain freakin' awful to watch. What a bore!!!! I am finished before an hour is even up-thank G-d I could keep switching to the Olympics. American Idol is totally finished in my opinion. I love Adam, but I cannot watch that pitiful show just to see him.

I think if Adam and Chris were chosen to mentor, Idol should have shown more of Adam and Chris doing just that. Too many other people in the "workshop" were shown. Hello, fans want to see Adam or Chris! Of course, Adam was fabulous, but I need more. I think MK was the best contestant tonight. She sang my favorite song that's currently on the radio just effortlessly (All of Me by John Legend).

I've tried being a fan of Harry, but he rubs me the wrong way. Please Harry give it up with the
"what does the song mean" comments. You already ruined a great singer's performance in the last season with that remark.

So glad to see happy Adam and I'm sure all the girls LOVED him!

I watched American Idol just to see Adam on there and he did a good job mentoring. But those girls were screeching and off pitch and I couldn't watch half the time. MK was the only one that had a decent voice. IMO. I'll watch tomorrow night to see if the boys are any better. Otherwise A.I. is finished! I miss Adam singing on there! That was mesmerizing!!

I'm looking forward to watching American Idol tonight! I heard talent last week that I want to hear again. (Don't agree with all the cuts, think the producers are guiding quite a bit here.) I've not watched the post here. I'll just wait 'til 8 and get the full picture.

As far as Harry Connick Jr seemingly picking on Adam, I'll just have to watch and see. He's a pretty straight forward guy from interviews on AI and previous stuff I've seen. He is a genuine musician and says what he thinks and feels. Who knows, maybe high and grandiose opening notes are not his style.

Man! Adam sure is looking Great in the photos being tweeted! Ooouch... Hot.

I like 2 of the girls, the others all sounded the same. I won't name names because I won't watch if Adam is not on the show.

I liked Kristen and Emily. MK has a beautiful voice, but I don't know if she has a chance with the American public (you know what I mean). I have a feeling AI just put her through this far to prove a point. I hope I'm wrong - I'd love to see her win.

HCJ said who chose that big song for you , big number. It made be angry as well so went back and looked at Adam with her. At the beginning he said what are you going to sing she said Roar he said cool then went to helping her. So Adam had zero to do with her song choice so if he was trying to put that on Adam he and Chris were not helping them with song choice just performing the song. Looks like a lot they did didn't get on the air but what I saw with both Adam andChris was on point. You can give the best of advice what they do with it is up to them. I thought Adam and Chris did very well were on point with much of the advice. There was a lot of good stuff that was not shown I fear. I watched for Adam only he did very well. It was Randy's work shop but more focus should have been shown on the real helping them than just Randy sitting and talking.

Okay, I watched the show and Harry has a point. High, "glory notes" do tend to get lots of applause and cheers, but sometimes a softer sound might sound better and have more impace.

I've even noticed this in a few of Adam's performances. He can certainly deliver, but it's not always needed. I just think Adam loves to stretch his vocals and blow the roof off the house. He certainly gets Lots of positive reinforcement for it!!

Adam did a great job guiding his young charge - tho' MUCH too little air time!

Harry didn't pick on Adam at all.

Much more Adam here in this American Idol vid about the workshop:

The show hasn't been screened yet in my neck of the woods but I remember Kristen having something special about her voice that made her "stand out" from the others.

I'm only watching for Adam too. After Adam, no more AI for me.

Good, once Adam is done mentoring we won't have to listen to the Idol haters anymore.

Idol gave us Adam and Adam obviously loves Idol and is proud of his association with the show. I will always appreciate that.

I'm really happy Adam was asked back. The staff, musical directors, etc and this year's producers love Adam.

The video at 9:29 PM has more of Adam talking about the process.

I wanted to see more of Adam last night!I didn't like cutting 5 of the girls last night, and now 5 of the guys tonight..poor contestants, esp the ones who were cut.Too many mentors. Why didn't they show more of BB and Daughtry and not so much of Randy?darn editing..I know that only 10 could go thru, but agree w/somebody who also doesn't like the format;it seemed so unfair..oh,well,let's see how it goes tonight w/the guys;was glad to see Adam,if only for just a little while here and there;he def knows how to mentor the best.Harry C Jr.?Sorry, never cared for him much, and still don't.will watch tonight only to see Adam.

It's Randy's Boot Camp so of course we will see more of Randy but actually I thought it was pretty evenly split between the three of them.

JAK here.....I too felt that a few comments were slight slams at Adam indirectly. I questioned "am I imagining this"? But since I've read the comments of several of you, I'm not so sure I wasn't right.

I've always been a fan of Harry's, he and Sinatra are my go to guys when I'm in the mood for swinging jazz. That won't change, but I hope he eases up on the kids a little.

He's suppose to give constructive criticism I thought, not embarrass them. Of course , to be fair, I am basing that opinion on a very few brief sights of his style, perhaps they were rare occurrences.

the casual sitting on the table. sooo cute with the leg folded underneath the other.

the song "Roar" dosen't showcase a singers voice. sorry, but it is a sweet sugary pop number. I think they should bring out the songs that showcase the vocal ability. Maybe one of the guys will sing WWFM on the show. Harry is blunt and there isn't a thing wrong with it.

Anonymous said...

You have to be looking hard and imagining things to see a slight at Adam.

When Harry made the comment about not knowing who helped her with that song, he likely didn't know. We saw on the clips that there was a musical director, voice coach and others giving advice to the contestants. As a judge Harry is entitled to express the opinion that the song didn't work and it doesn't mean he is throwing shade at any of the involved parties.

Some people just like to imagine a slight to jump to Adam's defense.

First J Ho needs to remember the show is about the contestants not her . . .I saw enough T & A last year with those divas

Harry Connick a little too straight when it comes to songs . . .has he seen Miley or heard some of those rap songs . . .

Anonymous said...

Maybe Harry Connick doesn't know what a 3.6 (or whatever AL hits)
is because he can't hit it . . . .I never thought Adam was screaming . . .because the sound was so pure and he slides up and down and out . . .I was so amazed . . . incredible
