i'm pretty sure all the Queen buzz has brought this incredible album back to the charts. I bought so many copies for friends. Can't wait for the next album!

This is a few sales it never had before.

Trespassing debuted at #1 because Glamberts all bought copies but with practically zero radio support casual fans never caught on and the album dies selling only 1/4 the copies of FYE. So sad RCA totally screwed Adam over!

This is a great album!

RCA paid for lots of promotion at radio stations, remember all those vids we got of him chatting and singing the Trespassing songs?
A lot of you were there!

The DJs were charmed but....they don't choose the songs to be played and the program managers get a playlist sent to them. I called in once and actually got a REAL person and requested one of Adam's songs and was told "He's not on our playlist!" So that finished that.

RCA doesn't own the stations!
And it is illegal to bribe the station owners. Probably Clear Communications! They own more radio stations than any other in the US.

Will things change for album #3 ?
Who knows.

I hope a surge of interest in Adam might make station owners change there minds. We can hope :)

Trespassing failed because the album sucked. Plain and simple. You can blame whoever you want or fabricate any excuse, but fact of the matter is there was no "Whataya Want From Me" on the album and thats why the radio never played it. FYE was a billion times better. And while i personally like most of the songs on TP just because its Adam, when you get down to it the songs just really aren't that memorable. Sad no Glamberts will ever admit to any of that. But go ahead and pull the wool over your eyes if it makes you feel better.

2:54, Using your reasoning, only good songs make it to the top of the charts. Lord only knows, that's not true. TP is full of plenty of good songs. Top reviewers called it one of the best albums of the year. Go figure.

@3:32 PM

I could not disagree with you more; You are entitled to your own opinion; but not to your own facts. To say that that the whole album of Trespassing sucked is ridiculous on it's face; and after that callous remark; it is very hard to not take your opinion as anything but sour grapes and someone here just to tear Adam and his accomplishments down.

In my opinion; there was something on Trespassing for everyone. Adam put his heart and soul in this album. I thought each song was outstanding; and Adam's voice on all of his albums cannot be matched.

I have heard what some might consider crap, played on the radio over and over again; and go straight to the top of the charts; that same artist or song couldn't touch Adam with a ten foot pole; as far as talent or song choice.

Adam's first album was also a masterpiece as the next one will be.
But, to say that Adam's first album was a billion times better is just silly in my opinion.

If Adam had been able to put out the first singles the way he wanted;
perhaps radio play may have come easier. Well anyway, apparently, people are finally taking notice of Adam more and are beginning to listen to Trespassing; that is why it is moving up the charts. This is wonderful; because it is such a great album. I play it every time I get in my car. Just love everything Adam's magical vocal cords touch.

Can't wait to hear the next album of the man Brian May and Roger Taylor call the one in a billion voiced man; Mr. Adam Mitchel Lambert!!!

Trespassing did not suck.I may have chosen a few different type of songs, but most of them were very good. FYE took a long time to become Platinum, esp in the US,but it finally did.RCA had Adam tour radio stations, but I NEVER saw one TV promotion of the album, like you do w/other RCA artists, not one.BTW,OT some, but the second song sung by the guy who sang "Wake me Up","Brothers" was on the VH-1 top 20 countdown today( didn't know he sang 2 on Avicci's album)LMD is a very good song, but Adam's great vocals have way too loud "backup music",mixed by Avicci.Adam's live version, sung on NYE was so much better!I also saw the other guy( sorry, but a funny name) promote this new song( w/o the video) on a talk show the other night.Avicci should have released LMD a long time ago,or let Adam do his own version for his upcoming album( which could still happen-who knows?)

I wonder if adam is gonna do any festivals this summer.

Anonymous said...

He'll likely do some festivals. The Queen tour is only a little over a month long. Hope he does some more one-offs after that, esp. for those who didn't get tickets to the Queen shows but would still like to hear Adam in person. Then, I HOPE he'll be getting A3 ready for promotion and release.

Oh, and TP did not suck.

Adam career is fixing a huge turn upward. I believe the best is definitely yet to come with new album and other projects as well. Adam is an international artist a big difference from only America. Trespassing may not have sold huge in America but its still getting sakes and will be at all these large arenas I'm sure up for sale that will boost it even more before new album is out. America it may not have a big sales but worldwide it did pretty well other wise he would not have been with RCA 14 months. The final total for trespassing is not in yet the queen tour will add more sales at large arenas. It's a big difference being an international artist from only America people seem to want to over look that. Correction sales not sakes.
The Queen tour will get Adam many new fans. Glee has also helped. So many good things coming for Adam. It is a pity some people come here pretending to be fans only trying to pull him and his work down. It's never worked before so sad you think it will now.

They just played Never Close Our Eyes on my radio. Doesn't happen often but nice to hear. I thought Trespassing was a great album. Glad to see it getting some attention.

Yea well I think rolling stone and people magazine and much more know way more about music some know it all nasty. He got four stars they real rare for rolling stone. Trespassing was a good album. However I think this third one going to be his best of all. All signs pointing to some good stuff coming. So happy and proud of Adam nothing sad here!

Actually I listen to Trespassing tracks on my iPod more than FYE tracks. RCA should have picked Shady, Trespassing, Cuckoo as singles instead of BTIKM or NCOE. The label picked songs had WWFM vibes and that's why label chose those two songs instead. If Trespassing is worse than FYE, then why is it charting on iTunes instead of FYE?

A reseller website is only using Adam's name to sell Queen + Adam Lambert tickets. Is this website doing a right thing? Found it on Queen Facebook page. Check it out:

6:35, doesn't seem like a smart business move to me, they are missing half of the audience that way. But scalpers can do whatever they want.

It is so rare to LOVE every song on any cd. Then trespassing came along- I love every song except naked love! I honestly cannot say that about any other cd I have ever bought! That to me speaks volumes the only other one I loved every song in the last few years is adele 21! Now if you want to go back to real music in the 70's and so on there are a too many to name.

I thought Trespassing had superior songs to FYE. There were only about 5 I liked on FYE and of those one never got sung anywhere-ever! The one on that album I think could have rivaled WWFM was Sleepwalker. It had drama, which suits Adam's voice......JAK

So record labels decide which songs become singles. Avicii may have no say in what singles are released. He did pick LMD as one of his top 10 on his person playlist, and he has been ending his concerts with LMD. On the album FYE, I think FYE and Sleepwalker should have been hits. On Trepassing, you have 2 collabs with Pharrell and one with Nile Rogers and not one of these is released as a single. I also love Chokehold and Can't let you go which you can't even get on iTunes in the USA . In conclusion, lots of BAD business decisions. Hoping for a better label in the future.

I love the FYE album & the Trespassing album equally. They are both fantastic albums with exceptional songs. Both albums and the singles from them have done very well worldwide.

Naked Love is my favorite song from Trespassing & I can play the whole album without skipping any songs ..... and the same applies to FYE album ..... so many great songs. :)

Anonymous said...

@JAK would the song you refer to on FYE that's never been played anywhere, be Pick U Up?? I seem to recall your mentioning that this is one of your fave songs on that album .... and I adore it! Sleepwalker is one of my faves too.

Anonymous said...

Yep, you have to remember Adam really hit home internationally.
Promotions were held up for sure and remembering there was a lull between albums which held things up. Can't wait for #3!

In the beginning my favorite Trespassing songs were Naked Love and Cuckoo... but now I love Chokehold ahd Shady a lot...

Choldhold would be perfect for the ending of 50 shades of grey.

I play both FYE and Trespassing alternating daily. The only song I skip is Naked Love. Otherwise I think both were excellent CD's. I'm a little prejudice in thinking Trespassing was superior, though, because it was all personal to Adam....his baby.

I'm patiently waiting for A3:))))

Yes, Sleepwalker should have been a single. I've watched that segment from the tour hundreds of times, love that song. But really love both albums.

@ 3:25 AM.....JAK here...Yes indeed, Pick U Up was the orphan song I was referring to in my post. I play it often, it's a spirit picker upper. It makes me happy. I listen and create videos for it in my mind. And my, how it shows off Adam's voice control!

Anonymous said...

JAK, I do the same with Pick U Up. I imagine Adam singing it both onstage live and in a music video. It's one of my all time favorites. He has never sung it live before. Hope he does someday.

FYE was better than tresspassing IMO, better because it had songs that appealed to lots of people, you could rock with If i had you, Dance along with FYE...chillax with 'whatdya want from me'..
Tresspassing was kinda too complex, too deep for an average person to enjoy..let's be honest, Rca did their best, obviously they had doubt about that album too.
With the third era, i hope and believe that it will be great..hopefully loaded with catchy songs and beats you can ignore like Pharell's Happy
