Good Adam mentions.

Whoa! Adam just came home after a long 'absence' of five years since AI. Yea this was the larva stage of his rockstar metamorphosis and now he has emerged a beautiful green/black Rajah Brooke butterfly.
It was at this WLL performance that I mumbled he looked Elvis, at a certain angle and the way he jerked the mic and his widespread legs as well. lol!
Mmm these mentions surfacing now, may be indicative of involving Adam next season; I think Seacrest finally put his foot down to the rather slow-going pace of the present season.
He was so in awe of Adam on S8 actually, always cozying up to him. lol! Adam, chief judge...he needs to hold the reins if there's even a chance of AI reviving to former S8 glory. Yea another AdamQueen finale to reminisce, We Are The Champions.

My most favourite Adam on AI performance was...Mmm can't single out one; let's see, perhaps Born To Be Wild...that wild wail-scream was crazy stuff, like Kara critiqued on Satisfaction; also Tracks of My Tears, again the last notes were crazy stuff...I thought he would have run out of breath by then but he gave me a rude shock continuing that last difficult high note, relentlessly, with Viking capacity. lol!

Adam was born a star and came onto Idol as one! There will never be another like Adam Lambert! No one can compete with Adam!...nancdruuu2

I still can't pick a favorite Idol performance of Adam's - I guess it was the excellence in a variety of performances that kept me speechless - but he won my heart for good when he performed tender "Tracks of My Tears" after ultra sexy "Ring of Fire".

Viking Adam has conquered a huge fandom
Like his forefathers, he relentlessly
Brought AI to its knees begging for mercy
Perhaps it's time to let Adam
Take the wheel and steer it as chief
To boomerang it back to former glory lwl!

Anyone would be nuts not to mention the might of Adam on AI.
We ALLLLLLL hail ADAM worldwide!
What a glorious time that was!
OMG GLORIOUS! Even though Adam was restrained from sharing all the force, with a whole lotta patience, it did give him exposure
he needed. Adam's a bloody legend!

Anonymous said...

And never again has AI witnessed
the stardom of Adam Lambert. It just ain't gonna happen.

Yes, I did it on purpose because the Aussie Glamberts pulled off quite a feat launching LMD as a single. Congratulations Aussies! LMD a big favourite of mine. I think it's going to blow sky-high.

sweet memories indeed, but kinda painful watching the current evolution.Although yesterdays pics on contactmusic were HOT

i'm so done with AI crap , wish he wasn't tied to it at all .

Anonymous said...

It'll be a good platform for Adam to promote his new album which he's most likely going to release towards the end of this year. And also AI won't have to pay out a hefty sum. Adam will be less divaish in terms of pay and yet will be as effective and skilled as chief judge.

WOW! Well now Kaleb and Alex are my two AI favorites for this season. They are very smart guys!!

For me, Adam Lambert was the highlight of watching IDOL season 8. He is the only contestant I ever voted for on the show in all the seasons I have watched it. His remarkable vocal talent and a mesmerizing stage presence are two qualities we have not seen in any contestants since then in my opinion. If it weren't for IDOL, we may never have heard of Adam on the music scene and had the opportunity to follow him on his amazing journey to stardom. For me, this season's contestants lack any interest or vitality and I really don't care who wins. Adam just set the bar so high that no one has even come close to him in vocal talent or stage presence. But it is nice to read that two of this season's contestants remember and admire Adam esp. since he was on the show as a mentor also.

I have no feelings about Idol. I watched it but it didn't make me a fan. I think it was because of the old song choices. But overall Idol was a good thing.

Anonymous said...

Be still my heart .... you sexy thang, Adam. <3

One of my favorite moments on the S8 finale was Adam singing "Beth." That incredible outfit, those shoulder cages, the make-up that he said he FINALLY decided to wear, saying, "Screw it, I wearing it!" That beautiful, gentle song combined with that edgy, rock look was magic for me.

When Adam was on Idol season 8, I couldn't wait to see him perform each week and also to see his latest style in hair and outfits. He was the only contestant I ever voted for as someone else previously stated. The finale with Queen was probably one of the iconic moments in tv music performances. And now Adam will be do those summer concerts with the legendary Brian and Roger. Idol has lost something, some element this season because the contestants just seem to be lackluster, uninteresting individuals maybe because they are so young and inexperienced. I think that whoever wins this season will probably not make much of a dent in the music industry. I am just so glad that Adam took the opportunity to audition for Idol and the rest as they say is history.

Anonymous said...

They have rejected Adam twice, or was it 3 times, as a judge on AI, I don't really want him to take the job if they finally offer it. One judge can't make a dying show a hit again. Adam as a judge can't work miracles and create exciting talented contestants.

glitzylady said...

I personally don't think Idol is going to be around beyond perhaps one more season. And I think at this point, Adam isn't going to be a judge. I doubt anyone can save it at this point. I don't even give that possibility any thought. That time has come and gone.

My husband and I used to be faithful watchers.. Every year since Season 7. This season is just the end of an era for us. We've tried to watch and have pretty much lost interest. We do think Caleb is great (and Alex too)...but we just can't get excited about it any more.

It's really too bad because I still get all **tingly** when I hear that American Idol theme... And my mind flashes back to Adam.....and the glorious Season 8. I'm eternally grateful to Idol for introducing us to Adam Lambert. Because he will ALWAYS be my "Favorite American Idol Moment"..

Anonymous said...

DRG, the Beth moment of the finale was also magical for me, the Lamb leading us to the Lion exploding with Kiss. Did you notice how the audience stood at attention for him, as if to bid him adieu and thank you Adam for the last time?
That sure warmed my heart, as he was so heartmeltingly loving and proud in his "happy place". Adam was resplendent in his out of this world outfit, wasn't he and his voice so soothing? The theater in Adam served him so well. All these years and I'm still entranced, and expect to be even more so as his eminence unfolds. Nobody does it like Adam Lambert. He has stumbled along the way, for sure, but in his getting back up and brushing off the dirt, Adam has shown us the stuff he's made of. From times that could have driven lesser beings to self-immolation, we instead got the opportunity to see his strength, perseverance, wit intelligence, conviction, and compassion--qualities that are rare gems in today's celebrities. Adam is a flawed character, as he is the first to admit, saying he "fucks up", but hopes he also says and does the right things. Is it any wonder that I spend so much time here with him, to watch this greatest show on this corner of the earth?

Many fantastic comments here that I can definitely identify with. Adam had numerous defining moments on Idol that I keep replaying in my head over and over again - Ring of Fire, Tracks of My Tears, Mad World, WLL, A Change... (only to name a few) culminating in the out of this world superstar finale - and nobody will be able to top that magic again unless it's Adam himself. Can't wait for more epic moments this summer!

Many of you have so beautifully stated comments about Adam on AI8. I must also say that I totally fell in love with him that season, his voice, his charismatic personality, his total personna. Never have I felt this way about anyone, except perhaps Elvis and definitely Queen. There is just something so special that the gods gave Adam and I think we are about to witness his magnificentness in full force with the upcoming Queen tour. I have even gotten members of my family to love him, of course, not like me, but enough that I have someone to whom to talk about him. I am so excited for July in Las Vegas where I will attend both shows and I already feel the poetry starting to manifest in the imaginative section of my brain. Adam just does that to me. What a talent the Universe has indeed bestowed upon us!! Margarita Lady

I have to add that the two pics above in the thread header, are from two of my FAVORITE moments of Idol Season 8..and that's why I posted them :))))))))

That "Beth" moment when Adam appeared on stage at the finale, was a crowning moment.... He was just simply "Adam" in all of his beautiful glory.... Made me cry a bit then and even now..it just makes me so happy for him...

And of course Whole Lotta Love during Rock Week... Well, what can I say.....

@ 8:56
I agree with everything you said, BUT, comparing Adam to the Lamb, with a capital L is sacrilegious. There is only one Lamb. I am not a bible thumper, but I call it as I see it. Adam is an above talented singer and showman, and deserves much praise with what he has accomplished. We would probably never have heard of him except through AI. But he is still a mortal. I am a huge fan of him, but I never put him so high up on the pedestal, that he might fall. He doesn't deserve to be put in that position. Let him enjoy his life, as a normal person and we will enjoy it with him.

Anonymous said...

1:53 am, Aussie glamberts didn't launch LMD. Avicii launched it and I'm sure his fans requested it as much as Adam's fans did.

11:11, Please take 8:56's Lion/Lamb comment in the spirit in which it was intended. A sincere compliment. A nod to talent and perseverance. No hidden motive, Just love.

@4:13 am

Do you mean that it pains you to watch the current evolution of the Idol show? I am assuming that is what you meant; because the evolution of Adam Lambert has been beautiful and breathtaking; and the best is yet to come!!!

Not familiar with the contact music pictures.

Anonymous said...

@11:11 I know you didn't mean to, but I think you're over-reacting just a little bit. When I first read it, I didn't think of it as a religious reference at all, since it is a pretty common figurative expression. So I think it's odd that you automatically jumped to that assumption. It seems the author to be just a regular metaphor contrasting Adam's personality (lamb is sweet and nice, lion is loud, proud, & fierce), with the letters capitalized for emphasis.

Let's just take it for the meaning the author intended, whatever that may be, and let's not make things more complicated by digging too deep or imposing our own assumptions. :)

Adamluv said...

@glitzlady - agree with you about those 2 performances. Adams look and his singing of WLL will always be my favorite AI moment of his. He tore up that song!!!!! And "Beth" and his look there as well, following it by his singing with Kiss can never be matched ever again on Idol (IMHO of course). The memories are flooding back. . . . Adamluv

Only a bible thumper would have a problem with the use of the word Lamb. Get over yourself - 11:11.

We all have our favorite Adam Lambert moments from season 8 of Idol. That's when we became fans of the best vocal talent the show as given us. I was excited to watch him perform each week and as others have commented, he was the only contestant I have ever voted for on the show. I really have no interest in watching the show this season except when Adam was on as a mentor. I would love to see him perform with one of the final contestants again as he did with Angie Miller, but that probably won't happen. I still watch the vid of Titanium when I want an Adam "fix". I think Idol is ready for retirement. There just seem to be too many of these talent/singing shows on tv now all looking to produce the next superstar in music. Often the judges get more attention than the performers along with their outrageously high salaries as in JLo's case. I will always be grateful to Idol for giving us Adam Lambert and his stellar vocal performances. He will be around a long time making inroads into other areas of the entertainment business as we have seen already.

@12:44
Only an ignorant person would not know the difference between Lamb and lamb. I understand the poster was only expressing a really nice point of view about Adam, he is a lamb, and a beautiful person. The line of the Lamb will lie with the lion, is in the bible. Meaning one day we will all live in peace together.
I think that is a sincere wish of Adam too, that we will stop all the fighting and bickering. According to the bible it will come to pass. Probably not in our life time.
I too loved S8 of AI, never missed a show, and I agree it has never been the same since. It was an exciting time for AI. I would hate to see Adam as a judge on there, rather see him be a finale guest.

Anonymous said...

So much for the Adam accepts everyone and promotes tolerance filtering down to his fans. A fan very nicely explained how Lamb is offensive to her and instead of that being respected they are told to just accept it or get over it. So intolerant.

I've watched every season of American Idol since season 2. I hope they can find something to make the show more interesting again. Two of the judges are good this year. I think it has a couple more seasons in it especially if they can find a good group of contestants next year.

I love the look of his hair when he sang Whole Lot Of Love, the long spiked look. Wish he would were it like that some time again

Adam mortal??? What the?? Kara, the American Idol Judge Season 8, said that Adam was a Rock God!!!! Who to believe, who to believe????

Anonymous said...

I wonder what the next show is that Adam will ruin for me. Every single time he performs on a television show and leaves; I can't watch the show anymore without him being on it again. American Idol, now Glee. Whats next Adam?

Anonymous said...

@2:31
Kara is just another mortal, she said Adam was a rock god, slightly different, than a rock God.

This made me go back and watch this sexy song, "Beth" again. Adam in all his glory. He looked gorgeous and was telling Beth the he and the boys would be playing all night!! Such a meaningful song for Adam to sing on that particular night. With a twinkle in his eye and an arched eyebrow that everyone seemed to notice!!! Love, love, loved it and love him even more today than yesterday!!!

Anonymous said...

Remember people; what Adam told his audience members at one of his concerts when things were getting heated between a couple of fans, I believe; "no fighting", is what he yelled out, and tried to bring both sides together. It was so cute, I think he would do the same thing here!

I watched Idol tonight with the rock and roll and country performances. Overall, the rock numbers were so much better. Do you remember when Adam did Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire and Randy Travis almost had a heart attack with that rendition? I just finished watching Nashville tonight with concert performances by the people on the tv show. Now that is real country music with the songwriters performing also. I just think the contestants on Idol are too young 17, 18 and they lack the confidence and stage presence that comes with time and experience. Now it seems that either Jena or Caleb is in the lead, but you never know. After reading some of the comments here, I can't pick out my favorite Idol moment because each one with Adam performing was just so special in its own right.

Anonymous said...

@2:45
No, she definitely said
"You're a Rock God!!!!!"

And she's completely spot on!

I have a CD in my car of all the songs Adam sang live on AI8. This one always makes me cry, but I hit repeat over and over again...it's just that beautiful.

Beth I hear you calling
but I can't come home right now.
Me and the boys are playing
and we just can't find the sound.

Just a few more hours
and I'll be right home to you.
I think I hear them calling
oh Beth what can I do.
Beth what can I do.

Beth I know you're lonely
and I hope you'll be alright
cause me and the boys will be playing all night.

sigh...sniff

I am so sad for non-believers. If there is no God, when I die I'll be right there with you. If there IS a God, where will you be when you die?

Atheists are only truly happy when putting down anyone who does believe. Why is that. What harm am I doing to you if I believe in God?

There is an old saying that goes:

There are no atheists in fox holes. It means when in danger of losing your life, everyone prays to God for help. Hipocracy? You tell me.

It's such a shame that these AI kids can't put two cohesive sentences together. I remember how articulate Adam was.

The education system today is going downhill fast. My neighbor was visiting when her teenaged son came to tell her what had happened in school. He said "Me and him done real good" when explaining about a contest in one of his classes. I couldn't resist saying "He and I did very well," as I smiled at him. He responded with "Olivia, you wasn't even there."

Shiggles

Anonymous said...

Shiggles- Most people today(esp. the young generations) can't put two cohesive sentences together. If you listen to any celeb being interviewed on tv and sometimes even the talk show hosts, if they use "like" one more time, I am going to scream. As a retired high school English teacher, I am so disgusted by the lack of correct grammar, complete and coherent sentences and even the lack of correct spelling that is so prevalent in today's written and spoken language. Adam Lambert does seem to be one of the more articulate and intelligent individuals in the music world..."like, you know what I'm sayin'? I agree that the educational curriculum is going downill esp. since I just read an op ed piece that Shakespeare and certain lit. courses are not even requirements of English majors in many colleges today. It's just amazing how technology(IMs, texting, etc.) and pop culture have changed society today.

Anonymous said...

Lam-my: Even the possiblity of having Adam as a judge on Idol next season, can't save this show. And I don't think Adam would consider it esp. if it is the last season for the show. If it is not successful, then Adam Lambert would be blamed for its demise as a new judge. The contestants this season were just lackluster and not very interesting, exciting individuals. Perhaps their young ages have something to do with their lack of experience and any kind of stage presence. I'd love to see Adam performing as part of the finale since he did mentor in the early shows, but A Queenbert finale won't happen. You have to go to one of their summer concerts to see them perform. All of Adam's performances on Idol were my favorites and I just watched them again last night from a You Tube site I had saved.

Anonymous said...

May not be the last season; what I read very recently is Ryan Seacrest has signed for two more seasons...unless they made further changes. Well, as for Adam being the chief judge...there's definitely no guarantee of a complete safe for AI. It's worth the try; also I'm thinking from Adam's enthusiasm... he had voiced out a couple of times he wanted to do it. And knowing Adam, when he puts his heart and mind into something, it usually works...may not turn it around completely but Adam is always in the ring when there's a fight to be fought, boxing gloves and all. lol!
