Queen and Adam Lambert in LA to Continue "Once In A Lifetime" Concert Rehearsals!

John McGuinness is involved in Event Production (Lighting, etc..) and is **apparently** (?) involved in the Queen + Adam Lambert Concert Tour. He tweeted this information and then deleted it.. But we have it anyway via @14Gelly who screen capped it.. I have no reason to doubt that they've moved the rehearsals to LA so I believe him :))) Just a little over a week until the iHeartRadio Theater Promo and free fan event concert in Burbank..

No surprise there would be more rehearsals. Probably staging to work out as well.

Makes sense that they would do more rehearsing here. There is lots still to do. Staging, sequences, costumes, and of course Adam learning some new songs. The countdown is really on!

People have been wondering if they're in LA.. that's the main reason I posted it.. :)) Because for sure they'll continue the rehearsals up until the 16th, and then on to Chicago!!! The iHeartRadio Music Theater in Burbank is also promoted as a rehearsal facility for bands preparing to tour. So I'm guessing that's where they'll be hanging out this next week or so..

ALSO hoping for some North American Promo coming up soon!!! Some interviews perhaps.........

I really hope we get some Television interviews; maybe Adam will be a guest on Ellen, and any southern california based TV shows, day or nighttime. Not sure where the Talk is based.

glitzylady said...

The Talk is also based in LA..

Good grief, not Ellen and definitely not The Talk.

They should interview on Howard Stern! He has 20 million listeners!

I mean Ellen and The Talk only strengthen his mama's boy image.

I'm hoping for something more along the lines of news items..

Perhaps like the news-type show in Australia that is coming up soon. I would LOVE to see newspaper articles in entertainment sections, "People In the News" second page stories, etc.., and not just in the local papers where the Queenbert shows are taking place..

And .. Also on the "Entertainment news" shows like The Insider, Entertainment Tonight, etc.... I have absolutely no doubt that we will see a media blitz right after iHeartRadio Theater on June 16th..... AND little filmed interviews and iHeartRadio Theater pieces on The Today Show , Good Morning America, The Morning Show, the National evening news... (thinking big here!).

This is truthfully a big musical event (and not just to us Adam Lambert fans and Queen fans) and hopefully will be treated as such by the national media. (Fingers crossed....). The iHeart concert in LA is undoubtedly being performed to invite various news, radio, TV and entertainment media to preview the show.. and to get the word out to North America..

BIG things in store for Adam Lambert and for Queen!!! And for us, the fans of both Adam Lambert AND Queen!

Maybe another interview with Brian, Roger and Adam, after the I-heart rehearsal. Since almost all the seats are sold, why would a promo help?
Probably no promos or interviews, until we see something concrete with Adams new album.
Might get a little bit between gigs this summer.

Promo is not needed, but there must be at least some articles about the concerts afterwards.

The promos would be for Queen + Adam Lambert and the Concerts. But no doubt Adam will be a focus as well, and as a result, be rewarded with, among other things, increased media (and radio) attention when his own new music is released.

As for the Queenbert concerts, there are still a fair amount of seats available. And it would CERTAINLY promote Adam as well. Media attention is a VERY good thing and would serve not only to bring the Queen and Adam Lambert concerts to the attention of even more people, but also show what they might expect to see (clips from the promo concert in LA)..

AND this will most definitely help Adam when his new music comes out as well. It brings him back into the spotlight ie media cycle, which will be critical to him getting the radio execs/powers-that-be to notice his new music and perhaps this time around, give him radio play.

Big picture......This is a HUGE thing for Adam and I sincerely hope that he reaps the benefits from all of the media attention surrounding the concerts..

Promo is needed because only a couple of venues are sold out. At least 3 on the east coast were under 75% sold.

There are plenty of seats still available to all venues. Just look on stubhub. The resale sights have plenty. I want all the seats to have people in them.

It will be like when he came off of Idol, they pushed him to get his album out fast, while he was still hot. He will need to do the same now, get his album out fast, as soon as possible after Australia, while he is still hot.

Are the venues not selling like they thought they would. Good seats don't seem very high price, between 200, and 350. Are all concerts like this, with seats not all sold? I thought the only seats left were in the rafters, but looking at stub hub, there are some very good seats at the Forum.

I think that the concert hasn't been promoted a lot (yet) in the US. So, unless you are an Adam or Queen fan or watched the GMA announcement you don't necessarily know about the tour. I was a bit surprised that there was no mention on Idol at all, especially as Adam was a mentor. Would be nice if the tour was a bit more advertised before it kicks off in order to sell the last remaining seats! I think that Brian, Roger and Adam have been pleased with the demand though. Otherwise they wouldn't have added additional venues/dates.

The venues have sold extremely well. 7 are "officially" Sold Out, and most are "officially" 92% to 98% Sold Out.. Those that were added as additional nights in the same city or same proximity (NYC, New Jersey for example..) have more tickets available than others..

The reseller sites do have tickets available as well.. Some are hideously priced, others are reasonable..

Here is the LATEST on the venues (as of May 31st, 2014):

Some additional thoughts:

Most big name concerts, even if "sold out" have tickets available on reseller sites.. And in fact some of those tickets are placed there by the artists themselves, according to what I've read..

All in all, it appears that they'l have full houses, or close to that at most of the venues... These are generally 10,000 to 20,000 seat venues... (and much larger in Australia and Asia...)..So there will always be a few seats vacant.. And a few stubborn resellers who don't drop their prices to reasonable levels fast enough to sell the tickets for some very good seats...

And a tip: keep your eyes on Stub Hub, Ticketmaster (who also is a reseller these days), Vivid Seats, etc.. for some super good last minute deals on seats... As in literally the day before the concert, or even day of... (From one who has done this...)...

I'm surprised those keeping the spreadsheet of sales haven't also documented the number of tickets available on the reseller sites. Officially the concerts are selling well because of what was sold from Ticketmaster but it looks like there are many many tickets still available from resellers.

Well said, Glitzy! You covered all the bases and I totally agree with possibilities of media coverage and promos. I'm really getting geared up for Chicago and wonder where they'll be staying. Adam will be pinching himself flying with Brian and Roger from venue to venue in their private plane! No more airport sightings for awhile! I'm so excited for Adam. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for him. I'd love to see Queen and Adam write together and put out an album or some singles.

The numbers in $$ looks good, I guess the government is rubbing their collective hands with glee. I wonder if the taxes are taken out as each venue pays all the bills, including the performers. Or do the performers have to pay tax as they receive their money, as in Tax returns yearly. Or some pay quarterly. I am sure the performers are paid well, but just a dribble as to what was taken in. Still I expect Adam will make a healthy few million, even after taxes.

Lots of "officially" because this is just fans counting seats on a Ticketmaster seating chart. We need to wait for real official news on ticket sales.

The concerts are deeply sold don't worry...fairing much better than some other summer concerts

Howard stern would be great interview,,new fans

Stub Hub is re-sell. Queen don't care about that - Ticketmaster has sold the tickets and the are in the green. (I bet they would be happy if the scalpers were out-of-pocket.) Their last tour , some venues, like Buffalo, only had 30% sell-through. This tour has been wildly successful in comparison.

National interviews not needed, sadly. Ticketmaster can throw free tickets to NY region radio and TV stations in exchange for advertising.

10:38 - you don't need to count seats on arena charts to see that most of the venues have sold exceedingly well. At this point it is not in the interests of Ticketmaster to be holding back seats and the charts are heavy with grey. Fan calls are not official but they are not wrong.

What is the problem if some seats are not taken yet???:) The concert is still on the go and no one can stop it unless there is an emergency happened.

So just buckled up and we are almost there he!he!

With those venues on the east coast not selling out, perhaps once the concerts start and there are reviews and stories on the entertainment news shows, ticket sales might increase. Remember it is the summer and some people are spending their money on vacations rather than concert tickets esp. if the price is too high for them. But if you are a fan either of Queen or Adam or both, you will find a way to buy a ticket and have a great time.
