Freddie Mercury and QUEEN are the subject of  an in-depth featured story (8 pages) in the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine (July 3-17 2014 Issue):

"Queen's Tragic Rhapsody"
"Theatrical, brilliant, excessive, and doomed, there had never been another band like Queen or a frontman like Freddie Mercury."

Scans of the new Rolling Stone feature article are here (within the tweet), shared by @Lambertlust:
AND an "Article within an article" featuring ADAM LAMBERT:

"Queen Find Life After Freddie: Inside May and Taylor's new tour with Adam Lambert

this is so cool. I received the new Rolling Stone issue today. A fascinating article of the life of Freddie! And how awesome is it that they included a piece about Queenbert tour.

Thanx Lambertlust. After reading this when someone sez Adam is no Freddie Mercury, I'm gonna think 'I hope not'.

I'll have to buy a copy right away! I want to read the whole thing. And yes, it's great to see a section on Adam, too. He comes across as very humble and thankful for his opportunity to sing with Queen.

The only thing that would make it all even more perfect would be if Adam, Brian and Roger were on the cover of RS!

I will be getting this mag. Sounds intriguing.

I so wanted Queenbert to be the cover of RS in June or July, I guess this is the next best thing., but wanted more Adam...

I agree with you.Freddie was unique, in his performances, but I would never like Adam to be like him. Freddie was way too over the top, and didn't give a damn. Adam is just enough over the top to do the songs justice and then some. I would never have watched Adam if he performed like Freddie. I don't know how this tour is going to be accepted, because people continually want to compare the two men. They each performed these songs to their own style, a lot of people liked Freddies style, I didn't like his style at all. I much prefer Adams style with the same songs. I hope Adam never performs like Freddie did.

I loved Freddie's style and continue to love it. Queen wouldn't have been Queen without Freddie Mercury. He started Queen and he's the most famous member of Queen.

Having said that, I also love Adam's style. He's as unique as Freddie was and .... vive la difference!! :-)

WOAH! I've just downloaded the whole article. Gonna love reading this.

Red leather pants, silk shirt, jacket?....cape? I'm ready.
Just please, no catsuit and ballet shoes like Freddie!

Thanks Lambertlust.
I've just read the whole article. It brought back so many memories of Freddie and I feel really sad at his life cut short. I hope people stop comparing Adam and Freddie. It only makes for unfortunate and unnecessary unpleasantness.

No need for name calling.
This must be the fan site with least amount of fans with a sense of humour!

People have real lives also when threads are filled with 50+ comments based on some instagram gossip photos, twitter rumours, Adam's friends, new house and what not.

NOW there's plenty of fantastic music, immaculate singing, fantastic outfits and a magnificent stage setting, hundreds of TOTALLY STUNNING PHOTOS to comment and almost every thread is less than 20 comments... js.

@6:59 AM -js.- There was no name calling.
What was humorous that didn't get a laugh?

That must have been a bit nerve shattering, when Adam's mic didn't work, on the first song. He handled it like the pro that he is. I guess they take time afterwards to go over the videos, and watch for any problems that might need to be corrected, or songs that could enhanced or changed. As Brian would say, there were a few train wrecks, most of which the audience never noticed. I was surprised to hear that someone in one of the sections, said the sound was so distorted, it ruined it for them.
I have loved all the videos that I have seen, loved the little changes they made in some of the songs, loved the costumes, in my opinion the concert was a roaring success.
Adam said in an interview, that after the whole tour was finished, he was heading back to Sweden, to finish up his album. Hope he meant it.

Maybe fans are spending their time watching all the videos of the Chicago concert and maybe others are sleeping!

Adam will be the best frontman ever since the late Freddie Mercury. He is doing a great job with Queen. I love how Adam interprets lyrics. Great actor.

@7:45 AM

I believe that Adam always means what he says when he says it, but, sometimes things can, and do change quite drastically in an entertainers life. Sometimes Adam is juggling more than one important thing at a time. I am sure they are all important to his well being; financially and otherwise.

Sometimes things come up that may not be in his control. I am pretty sure that he wants to get his album out probably more then you want to hear it.

Whenever Adam's album comes out; I will be there. First things first, no matter how long it takes!

I have to lol and wonder why this person is so obsessed over the number of comments on here all the time? Such a strange bird to be wasting time keeping track of this.

Anonymous said...

Fans are busy reading reviews, watching videos and pictures of two concerts. Also maybe some fans don't like to see spoilers until they go to their own Queenbert concerts.

Lol, why do you have exaggerate so much in your writing? No one's obsessed, no one's doing it all the time. The number of comments has been low a long time due to many reasons, one being posters that are rude, snarky, negative and always ready to jump on somebody, lol.
