AL 24/7 has already posted a few variations of this story and we generally would find no relevant need to post about it again, except for the fact that, in a bizarre editorial choice, the 3NEWS webmaster chose a photo of Adam to accompany the story that has completely nothing to do with Q+AL: a video capture of him holding up his middle finger from the end of his performance at the 2009 AMAs. And it ain't a tiny photo either.
We judiciously decided to not repost that photo here, but wanted to give you a chance to witness this oddity:

The 3NEWS writer can't differentiate the use of pronouns him / himself.
"Queen star Brian May has credited the band's new frontman Adam Lambert with reinvigorating *himself and Roger Taylor on tour."
Should be *him (referring to Brian). "himself" refers to Adam reinvigorating himself.
I'm using this not to point out his error in the use of pronouns; rather to show he may not be so alert and that's why chose that particular AMA Adam picture for his write-up...which is unrelated to the Q+AL tour and the AMA was five years ago!
You may be right, Lam-my. This writer may simply not be well-versed enough about Adam to put information in its proper context. And I agree that his grammar error didn't help matters either. Unfortunately, that AMA photo is an attention-getter. It's so inconsequential now. Hope it goes away soon.
Please do not judge my grammar that was not my best subject I did't like that he posted that picture at first then on the other hand it shows Adam will not be---over.Adam is and I beleive he will always be in control of his life.
DRG...I still can't quite grasp the intention of the writer for using this AMA photo...perhaps like you rightly pointed out, it's just an attention-getter and nothing more! Still a strange ploy, to me...using this particular infamous photo depicting something done 5 years ago.
When I looked at Adam's expression on this photo, there seemed a lot he was trying to say out loud; but now Adam looking at it, might just laugh it off; still it's so unrelated to the Q+AL tour, used as a caption photo.
I don't see why anyone thinks that Adam giving the middle finger at the AMAs is an oddity. I think Adam knew what he was doing and that it is perfectly in keeping with his radical style. Only uptight American's have a problem with the AMA performance. Seriously, and the same goes for Queen. Queens was frequently banned in America because people in our Country are so ready to judge harshly, or whatever, I could say many things. But does Adam need to apologize for the AMA performance, or sweep it under the rug, NO. Adam will shake you up, shock you out of your mediocrities, and reshape your view of life. That is what an artist does. He doesn't have to explain himself, or pretend something didn't happen, or anything really. Brian says Adam revitalized him, and that was exactly because Adam would give the world the finger when he felt like it, and for no lesser reason. So the picture makes perfect sense in this context.
Correct about it isn't an oddity; didn't quite see it that way too. But I'm questioning the motive and relevancy of using this particular 5-year-old photo of all the thousands of Adam photos to be the caption photo, to write about the Queen+Adam worldwide tour? Would like the writer to give his reason behind the use of this particular photo which isn't so complimentary and as I've said Adam would probably laugh over it at this point; but will not apologise nor sweep it under the carpet...no one is implying that!! Still, why rig it up when writing on a spectacular tour like QAL? That could be the oddity inferred, perhaps.
