Adam Lambert’s 8 Best Songs

The Glam Nation was rocked this week with the confirmation of Adam Lambert‘s new label deal (on Warner Bros. Records) and subsequent Max Martin-helmed album.
His first LP since 2012′s Trespassing is expected to drop this summer, with the lead single arriving sometime in April. This news had long been rumored, but for Glamberts, it was finally a sign of his long-awaited pop comeback.
To celebrate, Popdust has put together a list of the high-octane performer’s Top 7 Best Songs. Sure, he only has two major-label albums from which to pull (including 2009′s eclectic For Your Entertainment bow), but his groovy blend of house music, pop and rock is unmatched. And that voice, well, that speaks (profoundly) for itself.
For the sake of this list, we’re focusing strictly on his post-American Idol releases.
Let’s get to it:
8. Sleepwalker (For Your Entertainment, 2009)
As a more emotional moment on his debut record, Lambert showcased his vulnerability in a refreshing way. The track itself mixes choral chants, with a rhythmic base, and a blistering melody. We all know he can reach the stratosphere (and beyond) with that voice, but his unyielding restraint here is a testament to his God-given range.
7. Naked Love (Trespassing, 2012)
Probably the most fun, upbeat on this list, the feathery power anthem is Lambert’s fluffiest piece. Pop music doesn’t always have to save the world or address some revolutionary way of thinking: Lambert knows this and offers up a gripping, thumping three minutes of sweetness.
6. Outlaws of Love (Trespassing, 2012) Powerfully simple, Lambert has never quite sounded quite as accomplished (vocally), than right here. Stemmed from a very raw inspiration, he addresses the issues the LGBTQIA community faces on a daily basis. It’s an unfortunate struggle that continues to plague society, and Lambert’s portrayal of that gut-wrenching fight is breathtaking.
5. Sure Fire Winners (For Your Entertainment, 2009) This standout drips with sensuality, wrapped tightly in ’80s funk and a shower of Queen-ness. Perhaps his most genre-defying to-date, and coming off a far more “conservative” show like Idol, it was a welcome splash.
4. Whataya Want From Me (For Your Entertainment, 2009) This Pink co-penned track marked Lambert’s commercial viability in a way to hush all critics. It’s the kind of song that made the industry stand up and pay attention. While he hasn’t had a hit nearly as massive, it is easily his proudest accomplishment.
3. Soaked (For Your Entertainment, 2009) An orchestra-pinned intro set the tone for a remarkable entry in Lambert’s songbook. The music then pulls back, like a well-gardened onion, revealing a haunting piano-fused ballad. Lambert allowed the melody to guide him, ultimately opening up on a career-enlightening moment.
2. Trespassing (Trespassing, 2012)
Lambert took his already sturdy brand of pop to a whole new class. Still containing his signature vocal runs and oozing charisma, this foot-stomper was probably the most underrated track in all of music in 2012.
1. Fever (For Your Entertainment, 2009)
It’s the perfect storm: searing vocals, blazing sexuality, passion, grit, musical complexities. We’d be remiss if we didn’t have our fingers crossed for more tunes like this on Lambert’s next LP.

We have so many videos to watch on You Tube now of Adam and of QAL. The American Idol audition of last night reminds you how much Adam has improved as a singer. If you watch some of the old videos - like Ukraine I Want It All versus the newer ones, the performance is so much better. Adam keeps improving so much-and on such a huge stage-- that it is impossible to believe he can get any better. I Want It All on the Helene Fischer Christmas show is as good as it gets. It is so wonderful that Europe and the UK have discovered him; he deserves it so much. We love you Adam!!!!!! 'Molly
Wot! No Pick-U-UP?!! My Monday morning fav!
If I had to live on an island with only one of Adam's songs, it would be hands down, "SLEEPWALKER"!!! An absolutely amazing song and I got to see him perform it live during his Glamnation tour. His theatricality during his delivery of those stunning lyrics was not to be believed. Margarita Lady
I love Runnin. Shady, Cookoo , Sleepwalker, Shady,
I think Adam's performance of Sleepwalker during the GNT (saw him live for the GNT 5 times might be my fav (I'm referring to Pre-Queen). There are soooo many unbelievable songs that are excellent it's so hard to come up with just a few. Actually, the only song I never really loved was Naked Love. Soaked, Fever, Sleepwalker, Broken Open, Trespassing, Shady, Runnin, WWFM, IIHY, Pick-u-Up. Outlaws of Love....aaahh, the list goes on and on.
No no NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Can't Let You Go is Adam's best song ever!!!!!!
I hear ya LAMBERTLUST :)).....
.... Runnin'
Can't Let You Go
Sleepwalker (particularly the live
version from GNT)
Underneath
Time For Miracles
Aftermath (live acoustic version)
Outlaws of Love
Stay (his live version; although not
released, it is simply stellar)
Soaked (live version)
For Your Entertainment (OMG.
That video.... I've never recovered)
BTIKM
WWFM (live acoustic)
Whole Lotta Love (never recovered
from his live performances of this
one, either.... Any seasoned
Glambert has watched these and
worn them out ;))
..... And so on and so on and so on............
.... Broken Open, too :)
Broken English!!!
Okay, now that I'm reading other posts about your fav songs, I have to add that I should have prefaced my list with all "live" performances of all the songs.
I forgot Broken English, and, yes Can't Let You Go (I listen to it all the time in my car..can't believe I forgot it)
Yes, I remember when he did Stay at one of his concerts.....incredible. As said, it's just to difficult to come up with a short list! What a voice <333
A few come to mind (who am I kidding, there are SO many..) although anything I've EVER heard Adam sing live is always on my list of favorites...
"Whole Lotta Love" Live at Fantasy Springs 1, 2010.
"Sleepwalker" (Live-anywhere but definitely at any of a number of Glam Nation Tour concerts)
"Broken Open" (Live in Honolulu, HI)
"Fever" (in my car...........or Live on stage...) because it is just SOOO much fun!
"Pop That Lock" Live at Costa Mesa, CA
"Runnin'" (he never sang it live, sadly, but the CD version is awesome!)
"Map" Wishing it could have been a single...
"A Change Is Gonna Come" Live at the GNT Music Box, LA
"Who Wants To Live Forever" Live at iHeartRadio Music Festival 2013- The first time I heard Adam sing it live I cried... It was stunningly beautiful and I was SO proud of him....
"Somebody To Love" Live or you tube... He does it so well...
Everything else....................
I forgot to mention in my list above:
"Soaked" Live in concert.... anywhere...
I'll only talk about Adam's songs because they're the most important ones.
I ADORE Naked Love, Pick U Up is fabulous, Sleepwalker is divine and then there's Map .... sigh.
The only ones I'm not keen on are WWFM, Can't Let You Go and Broken Open. I LOVE ALL the others.
Adam's Glam Nation performances of Sleepwalker were something unique to behold .... sooooooooo powerful, theatrical & mind-blowing. His performances of Soaked were also breathtaking.
I'm a huge fan of Queen songs - they're so fabulous - but I'm really looking forward to Adam singing his own songs again.
I can't possibly pick Adam's 8 best songs - there are many, many, many more than 8!!! I can't even pick my absolute fave - way, way, way too hard.
Soaked, Sleepwalker, Can't Let You Go, Broken English, Time For Miracles and the list goes on. Anything Adam sings is so great it's impossible to make a list. It's not even the words or music, it's simply Adam's magnificent voice.
OT
I'd love to hear Adam sing Jackson Browne's "Stay". His version would be fabulous.
@4:00
I absolutely agree with you and with everything you said!
I wrote "Broken English", just to add that song to list of songs mentioned before my post @11:12, but I never could pick one or a few absolute favorites.... That's the CONUNDRUM of Adam Lambert, he does everything so breathtakingly stunningly superbly well...and yet you know he will yet again surprise you with another song done as well or even better than all your previous favorites.... And a big YAY for that!!!
I'd love to hear Adam sing Pick U Up live. I'd even settle for just once but I guess that's never gonna happen.
Surprised Aftermath isn't mentioned more often.
So many great choices as to Adam's best songs. It is unfortunate that only WWFM became a major hit. The others really never had a chance and other singles were not promoted for release by the record label. I can't wait to hear the first single from Adam's new album and sincerely hope it gets all the promo and radio play he so deserves. I love Adam pairing with Queen, but I want to see him continue with his solo career and his own music.
Fever, Shady, Pick U Up, Kickin' In, Soaked, FYE, WLL, Underneath, LMD, If I Can't Have You, Beth, Naked Love, Soaked, Somebody to Love, KQ, Stay, and the goes on.
My faves are a combo of Adam's own music, Queen's and some of his live covers. I am eternally bummed that so many of his album songs, esp. on TP, were not widely heard. But the future is very bright! Thanks for sharing great lists, everyone.
It will be pretty hard for me to pick my favorite Adam songs but i do enjoy singing along with TAKE BACK, MUSIC AGAIN and POP THAT LOCK, whew and many more of his originals. I don't know but honestly i love listening to both FYE and TRESPASSING because of the versatility of the albums. There's really a song that anyone can identify with and the diversity is what made them so exciting as far as i'm concerned. Congratulations Adam because finally people all over the world are now aware of your albums.
TRESPASSING has so many great materials in it and i know that they'll be recognized someday.
I'm not so sure if this has been posted already but it's a nice review
and hope you guys enjoy reading it:

Good luck to you Adam and may you be blessed more in your career now and later when you have the time with your love life as well. You are an amazing human being and i hope that the universe continue to be kind to you. You deserve all the accolades that you are getting now and your stint with QUEEN has opened a lot of windows for you.
Stay grounded Adam and you shall be rewarded in life more than you could ever imagine. Never ever change and keep on performing and entertaining because you were born to do that.
Love thru Adam,
Bing
Shady and Broken Open are my favorite from each album. Sadly I can't add my favorite live versions :(
I don't get why they chose Fever as their number one. If I Had You certainly needs to be on that list as well as Shady.
My favorite song is whichever one he's singing at the moment......sigh
I LOVE any song ADAM sings ... they ALL give me hours of pleasure but ... my go to song when I'm down isn't on any album or any concert that ADAM toured with ... it's a song from a musical in which ADAM took part long before Idol. I found it on Ytube & I go there just to close my eyes & listen ... there is no visual only audio. I'm sure a lot of my fellow Glamberts know the song I am referring to ... Come to Me Bend to Me from the stage play Brigadoon. ADAM's version of this song is so unique & so perfect that NO one else can compare ... NO ONE!! I have heard it many many times by other singers but they can't hold a candle to our ADAM!! SO BEAUTIFUL!!
Another song I would add to this list is .. A LOADED SMILE ... just really like this one too along with all the others.
