Eber Lambert shared this video/reading from June 2013 on Twitter... Worth a listen!!!! He shares some stories about his two sons, Adam & Neil, and Eber's musings on Music, Top 40, and more...
Old reading from June 2013 that Glamgolia might find entertaining. Enjoy! http://t.co/sYiNosZW6j

TY for the video! One of the best I´ve ever seen! Adam must have the same kind of humour from his father!
Glamgolia?
As proud as Eber is of Adam I have to wonder if he even likes Adam's music.
I have had a tenuous crush on Eber for some time now.
His first few caustic quotes and the fact that by choosing Milestougeaux as his twitter name my heart leaped in my chest, "he's a poetry lover"......the name a tongue in cheek homage to Robert Frost's poem Stopping By tthe Woods on a Snowy Evening...a favorite of mine.
This bit of film has cemented my crush, there is nothing so attractive to me as a literate wit. Especially a slightly wicked one.....Mark Twain comes to mind.
I don't know what Leila is like, other than a seemingly loving mother, but I do feel Adam was born into a perfect family to raise him....they did a great job with an unusually gifted child.
I wonder how great that home was if it ended in divorce. How much fighting went on? I also wonder how much drug use there was. Neither of those things are good for children to be exposed to. If they could keep the divorce civil it is still heartbreaking and difficult on children. I've got the impression Adam found his way despite all that. Good for him.
Adam often states that he had a wonderful childhood. He was close to both his parents. He says they were liberal minded people who were always very supportive. I'm surprised that Eber didn't mention the garage band he and a friend formed when Adam was young that included Adam on vocals.
Thanks for posting, glitzylady.
What a hoot! Very enjoyable. <3
Very funny!
Adam once said that when his parents told him they were getting a divorce (he was about 18, I think), he didn't realize they were having marital problems. Apparently, the issues between his parents were not blatantly disruptive to the family.
Regardless of the divorce issue, Eber seems to be an intellectual, smart and witty, with a broad music background. Adam's childhood was filled with music and good humor and cutting wit. Adam's pretty quick on his feet himself. I like Eber. It's easy to see where Adam got his easy-going nature and his ability to talk to people easily. And he inherited his dad's edginess combined with a natural sweetness. Adam has always said he had a supportive, loving childhood. I think that's evident in Adam's own personality.
And Adam certainly inherited some good looks from both parents.
This is a great post, glitzylady, thanks. Yes, Eber has always shown to have a great intelligence and wit in the limited times we've seen him, and Leila certainly came across in interviews around the time of Idol years ago as extremely smart and self-assured -- definitely a hip mom!
I really enjoyed reading this. Thanks! Because of a divorce when I was younger my brother and Dad where not together very often. But humor must be inherited because they are exactly same. Unfortunately as one of his Five sisters we didn't always think it was funny!!
I was surprised to hear Eber say that he didn't really like Queen! When Adam tells the story of Eber introducing Adam to more Queen music after Adam heard Bohemian Rhapsody in Wayne's World, I had the impression that Eber wanted Adam to appreciate Queen's music. Lol

Wow. I love this video. Epic library of LP albums. Probably some of them are priceless. Top 40s play cheesy catchy songs, that's for sure.
@Rosie he tweeted that Queen albums were Leila's. Probably Leila put them away with other albums in that album library book case in the video and Adam thought they were his dad's.
i'm a SENIOR GLAMBERT and i think Eber Lambert is HOT HOT HOT...yummy....
Love this Eber is hysterical!
Loved this speaking engagement. Eber is smart,witty and very articulate. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Easy to see thatcAdam had a great childhood with an abundance of love and support and humor. Thanks for posting.
Adam did say at one time the Queen collection was his mothers, and since then has said his dads. I don't think he really knows, I expect they were all stored together, moms and dads. There were a few things Adam did not know about Eber, when interviewed once he was asked about his red hair, did his dad have any Scandinanian blood in him. Adam had no idea at that time, but since then he researched the subject, and found yes his dad did. I am sure his dad wasn't being funny about the Queen music, but he is proud that his son made front man for them. We all have ideas about what kind of music we like, and Adam and his dad did not like the same kind, not unusual between parents and their kids. I think Adam heard about the divorce either on the cruise he was employed with or right after. He was grown up and living on his own. I have heard Eber refer to the major problem in his marriage was his love of "wine", and he said that he was glad that at least one of his sons was like him. My take on this
speech from Eber, was that he and Adam did not share many if any likes of music or sports. I think this is when Leila took over the reins about helping Adam fulfill his dreams. Reading between the lines, I feel Eber was not in full accord with Adams way of life, even though he supported him financially, as did his mother, while Adam was "finding himself", as we say.
I am sure Eber appreciates what Adam has accomplished as well as his bank account now. Adam has proved himself to his father, that he is successful in his dream as a singer, but I think Eber still loves his own style of music, over Adam's. Doesn't mean he doesn't love Adam any less.
I am not a fan of Eber, I think his wit is sometimes funny and sometimes biting. Adam has said he came from a happy home and had a happy life, I think that was mostly on account of Leila. Eber must have been disappointed that neither of his sons were into sports. I have yet to hear much praise from Eber about Adam's singing success. When asked he said, I am proud of both my sons.
I think to this day Adam continues to look for approval from his father.
Just a comment: I can't really believe that Adam didn't know about his Scandinavian ancestry until after someone asked him.. but okay... :)) Maybe so.. Eber's mother is of Irish descent which may also have something to do with Adam's ginger hair color....
This is a convo that Eber had on twitter in 2013: He reveals Adam's ancestry: I would think Adam would be quite aware that his (Dr. of Physics) paternal grandfather was Norwegian, at least in part..
@heyTrish924
@milestougeaux What is Adam's ancestry, if I may ask?
@milestougeaux
F@OoberBert Maternal: Jewish, 4th gen Romanian/Russian; Paternal: 6th gen American mutt (Norwegian,Irish,English,French)
5:43 PM - 23 Aug 2013
Twitter convo was posted here on 24/7:

I don't remember when Adam was asked about his dads ancestry, but he didn't know for sure what it was. I remember the interview, I love when Adam isn't sure of what to say, when he really doesn't know, or had never really thought about it before. But after that he did find out about it. I am not sure he was very close to his dad growing up, he talks mostly about his mother, and what they did, and how she tried different avenues to take up his energy. It was finally settled that singing was his thing. She was the one who took both boys for auditions for commercials. Adam said Neil got the most jobs.
Since Adams dad is from various backgrounds, might be why Adam wasn't sure of any one particular country. His dad apparently refers to himself as "mutt", so maybe Adam never got a very straight answer from his dad. Eber might have had to look it up himself to find out exactly who his ancestors were.
I have never checked my ancestry, and I am of the older persuasion.
I know my parents were born in England, and that's all..
@Anne Marie, have you joined the @Anons permanently? tsk tsk
OT sorta....I encourage everyone to check out their ancestry, talk to the oldest members of your family and write down any info and 'family stories' they remember.
Check and see if any family member has ever had a genealogical search done, share info. Maybe you may not find it fascinating, but your child or grandchild might.
I've filled three journals for my kids and it's teeming with direct descendants (on my mothers side) with really interesting people from the 12th century on to today. People I've read about in history books.
Try it, it's fun!
1:48 pm, I've noticed that lately as well.
Eber comes across to me as very sarcastic. After hearing this interview and a few other things and seeing him on twitter I'm not sure I could spend much time around him.
I too wonder if he really likes Adam's music. From his comments on music, I doubt he does.
Glitzylady, why would Adam lie about not knowing about part of his ancestry. I can't believe you doubt him.
My dad has never spoken much about his grandparents and where they are from etc. My mom and I have talked about her ancestry a lot but I'm sure my brother knows little about it. Not every person or family is interested in those types of things.
That is a lot of talk about drug use.
I thought that was a picture of Adam!
Eber sounds like a very cool dad and we know from them both that they are very close. My dad and I don't necessarily like the same music and I consider him one of my best friends. One thing they for sure have in common is honesty, with a touch of humor. Very charming.
xo laura
Yeah, Eber is a sarcastic jerk and Adam shouldn't be doubted when he says he doesn't know.
@1:48 & @2:49
I am sometimes Anne Marie, but it is safer on this site to sometimes remain anon. I have been kicked to the curb many times. I am not every anon on here, but very astute of you to recognize my comments. Some others have done the same thing as me. Peace to all, I love this site.
Of course I know nothing about the actual personal life of Adam and his family, from my past experience with parents, brothers, sisters, children, etc., Adam seems to have come from a very happy home. Leila and Eber came together for Adam's Idol experience on TV at least and that says a lot. Neil has always been very supportive of Adam and said so in interviews. I've seen and heard nothing to indicate that Eber and Leila are not 100% proud of their son. This love certainly shows in Adam and can't be faked.
Not to prolong the discussion about Adam's Norwegian roots, but here's an interview with Adam from March 2010.. In Norway. He talks about the fact that his family is partly Norwegian, and the fact that his Dad Eber lived in Norway (Trondheim) for a year when he was growing up (age 13) while his father, Adam's grandfather,( the Professor of Physics I mentioned in my comment above) worked for a year in a University there... I still find it somewhat ludicrous that Adam would not have had any clue that his father was partly Norwegian until "someone asked him" in an interview.. I don't question Adam's veracity, but I do find myself being somewhat skeptical of the comment above that he didn't know.. But it's possible of course.. I'd love to see the interview in question. Here's the one I referred to..

Who cares if Adam knew or not. Why is this an issue?
6:41 PM, should be interesting to watch Anne Marie and Glitzylady battle it out ;)
I swear some people know more about Adam's ancestry than most people know about their own.
I recently found out that from my mom's side my ancestors were Spanish Jews who migrated to Kashan which is a city in Province of Pars in Iran due to persecution of Jews by Spanish centuries ago. From my dad's side My grandmother insists that our ancestories goes back to Abraham because of her last name Cohen. I'm Jewish by blood but I don't practice Judisim.
Hi glitzylady :)
Wow, I agree you - I DO see quite a bit of Adam in that photo of young Eber. Same handsome features!
Awwwww... :)
And, if I recall... Adam mentioned in an interview in Scotland as well - early 2010 (March, maybe?) - that his ancestry is Norwegian. It was a funny moment in the interview as he joked that he was "Waiting for my Viking to come riding in on a horse for me" (or something to that effect. lol) when the interviewer inquired about his love life. ;)
This video was quite funny and I pick up on strong undercurrents from Eber of genuine love for his boys in it. I think he is incredibly proud of Adam, and it shows. How much he has and/or is still processing with regard to Adam (& both boys, for that matter) is their own family story.
(Sounds rather like many of us and our families, really. Largely universal in some regards). :)
Thanks for this video - I truly enjoyed it!
... Thinking we also may have a little clue, too, as to where Adam gets at least one aspect of his concert banter from. ;)))
I see and hear in this video that Eber is so much proud of his sons and their accomplishments. I really don't get why the bitter comments about Eber not liking Adam on couple of comments above. Are you projecting some of your old fashion mind set? If so, wisen up. It's 21st century. You know how to use computer. Do some research to wipe out your old way of thinking.
@Yada 10:33 PM
I actually posted the link to the interview that Adam did in Norway in March of 2010 up in my comment at 6:01 PM... It's the one where he talks about his Scandinavian ancestry and also about perhaps his true love sailing in on a Viking ship....It was so sweet at the time..
I also do not get the comments about Eber not being a good or appreciative or supportive Father.. From all we've heard and seen over the years, he was a strong and present part of the parenting team.. And is still a supportive father to Adam.. Way too much projection and negative speculation based on nothing, from a few here, in my opinion....
I loved his talk about his early years, his interest and involvement with Music, his DJ years, and the love he obviously has for both of his successful sons..
It was sweet and generous of him to share it with Adam's fans.. no doubt in time to help celebrate Adam's upcoming birthday.. I appreciate it very much and I genuinely like Eber... He's an intelligent man with a sharp wit.. Adam's genes from his mom and dad are clearly strong and he came from a loving family.. That is more than evident.. And all that matters..
And some tweets from Eber Lambert in response to some questions after he posted the video:
How he feels about Queen:
Juli McCarthy @MaidenBedlam
@milestougeaux Have your feelings about Queen's music changed? Not the singer; the SONGS?
Miles Tougeaux
@milestougeaux
@MaidenBedlam yes I actually have several favorites. I always appreciated their talent they just weren't my cup of tea
About Adam's music: past and future:
drew mcalee @ammjcn
@milestougeaux inquiring mind would like to know..out of Glamnation &/or Trespassing which is your favorite Adam song???
Miles Tougeaux
@milestougeaux
@ammjcn too many to choose from. Also love the samples I've heard from the upcoming album a lot!!
Ah, glitzy thank you for the link. Absolutely it was in Norway (logical!). I definitely got my countries confused about when and where this was discussed, didn't I?? Geesh...
Thank you for keeping it all straight for folks like moi :))
(And for reminding me that he was waiting for his Viking from a ship - not a horse, of course. ;))
The idea of different tastes is a hard one to comprehend.
Thank you Eber, enjoyed that vid so much.
@JAK, what you said about Eber, totally agree. Literate wit. Love his humour, sarcastic and 'difficult', not for everyone, polarizing - just like his both sons.
I once said to my own father that I love you very much, but it would be awkward if we would see eye to eye about everything. And I hoped he would feel the same way towards me. Every generation has their own voice (hah! especially true for Adam!) and their own spices to throw in to the common soul soup!
