......he wasn't "too gay"????? WTF??
I kinda resent that comment.........
donna w --- Ditto!! But I guess it was one of those 'back-handed' compliments ... maybe?
Opening with One Vision is simply EPIC.
It's hard rock n' roll, goosebumps and full pomp from the get go!
Just infuses the arena with energy and excitement. Each time, I enjoy seeing Brian's giant silhouette lit up, cranking his guitar like nobody's business behind the curtain...then the drop.... with Adam's back (and sexy toosh ;)) with his arm up, finger pointing in the air...
Basically letting them all know: "You better hold on...Cause We're already the 'Champions'... and We're just getting started! This is gonna be FUN."
Sooooo dramatic. So bad-a*s.
LOVE.xoxoxox
........maybe.......but it's 2015 people......he's gay.
Get over it.
That second pic....
"Can anybody find me.... Somebody to love? Can Anybody? ;-D
If Adam really couldn't find somebody....what hope is there for anyone else?
I was lucky, I found a great somebody in 1955...a really supercharged model with a classy chassis!
I'm keeping him, he's now considered a classic.
There has been a bit of discussion on Twitter about the "gay" comment in this mini review...and what was perhaps meant by it..
My personal feeling from first seeing the comment (before I posted this blog...) was this:
I suspect, like many people on both sides of "the pond", who have some bit of name awareness of "Adam Lambert", have heard he's gay and all, but don't really have much actual knowledge of him, his persona: the author didn't have a clear idea of just who Adam is, and what he is like as a performer.. So she went into the concert wondering.....
I think it was more of an observation and not a slam or snark or a bigoted statement.. Just an "oh"......He has a bit of a feminine side at times, but certainly a masculine side as well, that is combined into what his performance style is.. As well as being fine tuned to the occasion and the audience and the particular song being performed.. And quite honestly, it's who he is.. with the ability to switch gears and personas at the drop of a hat... And he's a master at it...
It's a fabulous and wondrous combination and certainly makes him attractive and endearing, powerful and ultimately sexy, all at the same time.. And to both sexes.. He's a sweetheart and a bit of a naughty boy sometimes, sometimes serious and emo, other times camp and silly and sometimes a little "gay".. all rolled into one incredible performer, with a voice that is stunning and and a range that can amaze..
In other words: Quite the package.....
glitzlady, You're right on all counts. We long-time Glamberts have seen Adam in a his glory, changing it up, nuancing his sexuality, just as you said. But someone new to the experience could easily be taken off guard and think, "Who IS this guy?" I think the comment wasn't meant to be derogatory. Just observational, as you said.
You're right.....he's "quite the package!!" And we love him.......
Adam has been off and on stage since he was 10 yrs. old.....he's an entertainer.....whatever the occasion (or song) calls for, he's got it.
He can seethe or smolder, pout or tease, swish or stomp, bump or grind, make you laugh or get weak in the knees! He's up there in lights to please!
